Task Manager Disabled By Administrator - No Turn Off Button Start Menu
Nov 3, 2007
I Dont Know What Has Happened To My Computer But It Looks Everything Has Gone Bad. The Task Manager Is Disabled By Administrator When Pressing Ctrl Alt Delete. No Turn Off Button On The Start Menu! Cannot Open Anything In New Window Or Cannot Click A Link, It Never Redirects!
Something Is Really Wrong! To Listen To Sound, Everytime I Restart I Have To Uninstall Creative Sl Audio And Put The Cd And Have To Add Hardware To Listen Cause Everytime I Restart There Comes A Error In There So I Cannot Listen

My Task manager has been disabled what can I do to Keep it going? The second problem is that my turn off computer button will not stay on my start menu. I have tried a few different things that people have told me, but everytime I reset, it goes back to no button.

I'm running windows XP SP2 When I press Ctrl / Alt / Delete the system displays a message saying "Task manager has been disabled by your administrator". I have a stand alone PC not connected to a network so I'm guessing that a rogue piece of software has done this.

I'm sure this is a simple question but I can't figure out the answer. I'm running XP yet my start button and the taskbar aren't blue, the standard XP color, they're now looking like they did in Win 98. How do I fix this? Also I can't access the task manager either by control alt del or by right clicking the task bar and selecting task manager there. I've searched on this and found a number of different methods to supposedly fix this but haven't been successful so far.

The only way I can get started is Control/Alt/Delete, which raises Task Manager, then enter URL for Internet Explorer (.exe) to get into the internet, then either hit the Read Mail button to get Outlook Express, or enter the Outlook Express URL into Task Manager. Can't access C-drive at all. Haven't tried A or D drives yet

new computer last month and we have not experienced any problems with it until yesterday. I had to use the ctrl+alt+del function for some reason, but when I entered those keys, a message came up that said "Task Manager has been disabled by your administrator." Ctrl+alt+del has worked previously, as recent as the day before. But for some reason it will not open up. No one in my family messed with the computer controls, at least not purposely. I called the Tech Support for HP, the maker of our computer, and they could not figure out the problem. Their only suggestion was to do a full system restore. I imagine there has got to be a way to fix this.System: Microsoft XP Home Edition. Service Pack 2 Make: Hewlett-Packard Pavilion

I started getting random popups and my start page had changed, so i ran Microsoft antispyware. When the scan is halfway through my computer reboots. I tried with norton and ad-aware, but they also reboot halfway through the scan. My task manager is also disabled, and my background has changed to a blue screen that says something along the lines of: "System Stopped. System has been stopped due to a serious malfunction. Spyware activity has been detected."

When I press Ctrl-Alt-Delete I am given a pop-up that says Task Manager has been disabled by the administrator. At any given time, when I am on the internet. I get a pop-up that says Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and must close. I usually click Don't Send and it closes out my Internet Explorer.

I turned on my computer and found out that my regular user cant access task manager/run or turn off the computer. i am the only user on this computer and there is no network. the user is listed as administrator and i can change/create/delete other users which i tried. i created an admin user and that guy could do everything except access other user files. i looked into Administrators group and both were listed. when i do ctrl+alt+del it says Task manager has been disabled by computer administrator. but there's no administrator. there's a win98 computer that's connected to this one. but it's only used for internet by people who call a browser the internet every time my computer boots up it goes to a bios where date and time are change to weird numbers every time

my computer was recently infected with a Trojan which i seem to have gotten rid of. Today when i opened the task manager it only seems to partially load. It will bring up the process list with the "End Process" button, but that is it. The other tabs and pull down menus are gone. The Task in the taskbar has the icon for it but doesn't have any words next to it

My start button, the quick launch bar and the task bar where the clock is and where it shows what windows you have open is all gone. I was playing a game and when I exited out of it it was all missing. If the game matters it was Hidden Expedition Everest. I ran spybot and AVG antivirus. All is clean.

customer brought in a BSOD machine, and I was able to recover it to a bootable state, only to be greeted by a plethora of viruses. I've chewed through most of them but this ones' evil plan has got me stumped. It has autohid the taskbar, and locked it that way. I unlock it and try to drag it to normal size, no dice. Also the start menu is disabled. The odd thing is that windows minimize to sit on top of the taskbar, so its almost like there's no taskbar there.

If your system hangs about 2 or 3 minutes at startup, where you can't access the Start button or the Taskbar, it may be due to one specific service running in the background. Microsoft put out a patch for this but it didn't work for me. Here's what you do:1. Click on Start/Run, type 'msconfig', then click 'OK'.2. Go to the 'Services' tab, find the 'Background Intelligent Transfer' service, disable it, apply the changes & reboot.

I have been Experiencing Problems With my Windows XP SP2. My Run button is not showing up in my start button and task manger does not work either. I went to star>search>reg edit and clicked it but it still gives me the same problem. This might have been from a pop up virus or something that may have sneaked into something i was downloading.i have used Hijack this and have created my log file. i am 13 and when it comes to this virus stuff i don't know a lot about it and i really need this PC. I am the only admin and no one else uses this PC except for me.

Hello, The other day I formatted my computer and reinstalled everything back onto it. I've run a few spyware scans and deleted all (most were cookies) and also some virus scans with AVG. It picked up about 11 viruses! but I quarantined them. Anyways, the problem is there's no shutdown or run button on my start menu! I've never heard of that before. So I'm wondering what it is. I've tried to access the registry editor by pressing Windows + R, typing regedit in Command Prompt, and browsing through the Windows folder for it, but it comes up with "Registry editing has been disabled by your administrator" I don't get this, I AM the administrator! What could it be!?

recently I loaded up my computer, logged inunder my user profile (I'm running Windows XP SP2), Everything looked normal until the system completed loading and my wallpaper icons vanished (Wallpaper stays), My start button & Task manager bar vanished as well(including the clock).I logged out of my profile, and was able to use the profile I had set up for my mom for about a day... but then her profile did the same thing. I tried my daughter's profile and everything is gone. When I looked in my listing of what applications are running, I've noticed that my explorer.exe is gone.
