I set mouse pointer speed (speed cursor moves over the screen) set to max (in control panel)This was fine until I upgraded from a 19" screen to a DELL 2405, this being a 24" widescreen. Now the screen is massive (I run at 1920 res) and the mouse is just too slow when in XP. Is there any way I can tweak XP to speed my mouse pointer up even more.
View 8 RepliesI am using a DSL connection with a maximum download speed of upto 2MBPS but i usually recieve it for about 1-1.5MBPS. I have tried using Download Accelerator softwares to increase my speed but wuth those some spam also come into my computer so i am not using it anymore. Is there any way by which i can increase my internet speed by doing some changes in Windows internally. Also while using sharing sites my speed tends to fall to about 45KBPS.

View 14 Replies View RelatedSome of you people notice that no matter how high you put the speed of your mouse, it is still not at it's maximum point. A way to fix this, on most options, has a little choice under the mouse speed. Go to Control Panel>Mouse. Click on Pointer Options, and then you will see a bar. The first bar is the motion speed. Under that, "Enhance Pointer Precision," is shown, uncheck that and see how much faster your mouse will go.

I have also looked into changing the smooth mouse curve x and y in the regedit; however, it looks like this only has to do with how fast the pointer accelerates not with how much territory it covers. I would like to change mine so that a smaller movement of the mouse covers more of the display. would changing these values do that?

View 6 Replies View RelatedHere are my results after running l2mfix, the other thread is closed so I am posting a new one.The problem I am having is that all of a sudden last week my IE took over my computer for no reason.I had walked away from my machine for about an hour, I do this often, and came back and couldn't do anything.Upon reboot, same thing, IE will not open and it will eat RAM, 100k to 200k making the entire system slow.I have used spybot and AdAware to remove all spyware and malware found. I have used RAMbooster.net also. Nothing is working. Before I go an uninstall the program I want to get to the root of the problem and then complete delete IE off my system. I am no using Opera and FireFox.

For example, if I click on an application from the desktop it will sit there for 10-20 seconds before anything happens. Occasionally I'll click multiple times on something and nothing will happen then 30 seconds later it will open multiple instances of things. It's not too bad when I'm not on the Internet, but websites open really slow, and some of them just quit before they even load. I was gonna run a registry cleaner, but then I saw on here that it isn't recommended! I was using Norton, but recently uninstalled that and installed AVG, which I ran as well as Adaware; neither found any major problems. I posted a HijackThis log a few weeks ago, but no one responded so I assume there wasn't anything there either. My used space is 19.1GB and my free space is 50.6, so I don't imagine that is the problem either. I'm running Windows XP. Any suggestions on how to speed this thing up, or is it just suffering from old age?

Like I'd be running 2 IE's, and I'm switching to the other browser, when the screen freezes - but I can move the mouse. It freezes for around a minute to a few minutes, but I can move the mouse. I go to click on eg the Start button, go back to the browser i was originally on, etc. Only after the screen temporarily freezes does the start menu come up at around the same time the browsers switch from one to another. how do i fix this? it's REALLY annoying. it doesn't only happen on my computer, but on my parents' computer as well. the funny thing is that it doesnt happen to my bros computer.
