Access 97 and Access 2003 installed on his machine. If a scheduled task is set to open an access database at a certain time, it will do so using whatever version of access was last opened. Is there a way to force it to always use one or the other?
View 3 RepliesTask just did not run. Sometimes it reports that it did but it didn't. Each time we can run it manually but it doesn't run as scheuduled. I've deleted the task and set it all up again, but it still won't run.

I'm instructed to configure the permissions the folder in which the northwind.mdb file is supposed to reside. The tutorial instructs me to browse to that folder, and right-click it and select "properties" and select the "security" tab-- but i don't have a Security tab. My user account is an administrator account, but just to test it, i logged is a "Administrator", but there was no change. Why do my folder properties not show a Security tab, and how do i change it so they do?

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy browsers, particularly IE (6) dont always respond when I try to open them. With IE about half the time when I click the icon nothing happens. If a then check task manager IE is indeed running and taking up about 14K of memory, but it never opens. If I try opening it again another instance will just open under task manager and nothing will show up. Now if I end all the IE processes in there and then start IE again it'll be fine. But I need to get this fixed.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm not able to open the task manger or it only stays open for a few seconds and closing. Even HJT gets closed after a few seconds. Both actually works right after the computer boots up but shut down in about 30 seconds. I was able to run a scan before it shut down.

Well today I suddenly started having problems and you seem to know what your talking about so I thought I'd ask you.I ran a Trend Micro PC-Cillin Scan and it found the worm, WORM_MUGLY.I which I am working on removing. The problem is that part of removing that requires you to open your task manager and view processes which I am not allowed to do. I tried to run regedit but it opened up to an ms dos window which in the title bar said regedit.com. I ran registry cleaner, ad aware, and spybot search and destroy but to no avail.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI turned on my computer and found out that my regular user cant access task manager/run or turn off the computer. i am the only user on this computer and there is no network. the user is listed as administrator and i can change/create/delete other users which i tried. i created an admin user and that guy could do everything except access other user files. i looked into Administrators group and both were listed. when i do ctrl+alt+del it says Task manager has been disabled by computer administrator. but there's no administrator. there's a win98 computer that's connected to this one. but it's only used for internet by people who call a browser the internet every time my computer boots up it goes to a bios where date and time are change to weird numbers every time

Ad-aware SE - used to run thru the first 45,000 files rapidly, and never spent any appreciable time with the file counter not moving.Now it gets to only 12-1500 files and the HD starts chruning and won't stop; have to kill the program with task manager.Word or Outlook Express - frequent intervals where I'm typing, but letters don't appear on screen until after a 10-15 sec. interlude like something is running and taking the full resources of the CPU.
View 14 Replies View RelatedBack about three weeks ago, in an effort to speed up my start-up on my computer, I ran Cleaner. It identified all the start up things. I went through one by one and disabled those that I had checked on a registry database. Unfortunately one of the first I disable was USERINIT.EXE.Now, as some of you may know, I can't login to my computer! I can power on, and try to log in, the windows attempts to load my preferences, and then logs out. Over the past several weeks, I have tried in vain to get some helpful suggestions on how to remedy the situation, but obviously my range of knowledge in dealing with this type of problem isn't strong enough to figure it all out. It was suggested by a friend that I just do a ffr, but quite frankly, I see that as a last ditch effort. I have files on the computer, that I really don't want to lose. And it seems that as I know what the problem is....there must be someway to fix it without going to the extreme. As my computer is 3-4 yrs old, my windows CD was only for SP1, and I don't think that would help....although I don't really know.
