I have a windows XP and when ever i try to open the task manager, it doesn't open. I try double clicking on my control panel icon on my desktop, but a message or error comes out saying that the administrator disable or something like that? Sorry because I have a Japanese version.I try running a CMD but then it says:the command prompt has been disabled by your administrator. What should i do? I try the following programs to fix this:
1. Malwarebytes
2. ComboFix
I cannot open my task manager or my control panel, when ever I try to open them, it says that the administrator has deleted it or something like that(not sure, the fact that I have a Japanese computer)?I have looked all around the internet for a solution and I found the REGEDIT option but I cannot open REGEDIT for some reason. Please help. Every thing else works fine but I just need help fixing this problem. Well this is a custom made computer so and I don't know how to open the system information.
im missing my bluetooth device manager on my control panel. it got uninstalled . i have tried to repair my services pack 2 and installing it again bit wont let me.i run windows XP any other ideas i can try?
I'm running XP Professional though whether it is a 32 bit or 64 bit, I have no idea.If it is relevant, and someone can tell me how, I'll check and post it up My initial problem was that I recently discovered my PC no longer has any sound. I haven't got speakers attached, I just use the internal one.It still bleeps occasionally but I found that I couldn't play any music or computer sounds.I investigated a bit further by going to the Sound and Audio Devices icon in the control panel where I discovered that there is 'No Audio Device' and no list of devices in the Hardware tab.
hey this may seem like a dumb question for most of you, but whenever i try to hit control, alt, delete, my pc says "task manager has been disabled by your administrator". i am the administrator and i dont remember disabling it, heck, i dont even know how to get to the screen to disable or enable it.
from the desktop or from the Start menu. explorer.exe randomly consumes 100% cpu usage and has to be shut down from task manager or a reboot. Sometimes after ending the explorer.exe process, I get the "send/dont' send" error report option to Microsoft. Norton & Windows Defender found nothing, and ad-aware SE hangs.
I can appear to be able to open any window but when I try to access the control Panel I get a "Windows explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. we are sorry for the inconvenience"
I click on Start/My Computer/Control Panel. The screen goes momentarily to the blank background screen, then all the icons and tool bar show back up--but no control panel opens. I am running Windows XP on a Dell computer.
I have been experiencing a problem with Windows Explorer where i cannot open any folders, Control Panel, etc. When I try to do so, explorer restarts. I tried a System Restore and that fixed the problem for the moment, but it came back a couple days later. I ran a virus scan (Norton) and it didn't find anything of note.
Glad to join the forum. Ancious to read replies from users regarding my problem. Win xp home laptop. and 2400xpm with 512 megs of ram. Looking for help with this frustration. Takes forever to Boot up, open files and programs. Cannot get to the control panel and i am getting and explorer error when i do. would like to get to Microsoft to install sp2 but i cannot.
My computer is running Windows XP Home and is Bluetooth capable. I'm reading a bunch of instructions on how to connect my phone to my laptop with Bluetooth and they all start with the instruction to go to the "Bluetooth Connections" in Control Panel. Trouble is, there IS no Bluetooth Connections when I open the control panel.Any ideas on how I might add Bluetooth Connections to my control panel, or otherwise connect my phone to laptop with Bluetooth?
I'm having a bit of a problem. As far as I know, my comouter is completely free of viruses and spyware. For about a month and half now, I've been receiving the error message "Windows cannot open user accounts control panel" every time I double-click on User Accounts in Control Panel. I've been to many sites and I'm still stumped. I think the problem lies in the file nusmrgr.cpl being damaged or defective. If anybody can't offer me some advice or point me in the direction of a download or a recommended piece of software. is (obviously) Windows XP and I've already tried System Restore and Roxio GoBack.
I am not able to log on to IE or my control panel. It just started doing this yesterday. I don't know where my Norton antivirus software went. It is also missing now. The system is very sluggish.
i just got the "mywebsearch" malware on my comp, i used malwarebyte antimalware and its gone but now its say its missing rundll32 and i cant open control panel anymore, is there a way to fix it without reinstalling windows?
I just migrated from my old IBM T42 to IBM T60. Now I installed a bunch of new softwares on my T60 (the regular ones) I dont know after installing which software problem started. When I try to open power options from CP it says:An exception occured while trying to run"C:WINDOWSsystem32shell32.dll Control _RunDLL "C:WINDOWSsystem32powercfg.cpl",Power Options Rest everything works fine in CP - I have tried to replace powercfg.cpl (with a new one) as well but that didnt help.
XP Media Centre. When I click My Documents the folder list appears but will not open any when clicked. Also cannot open My Computer. Control Panel opens and list appears but cannot open some folders such as Add/Remove Programs. Also, I.E. will not start. However programs such as Word will start OK, and will open some files.
After adding various .dll from an earlier Win2K installation (trying to correct an unrelated problem) to C:WinNTsystem32, discovered that Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel won't open. Rest of Control Panel works. This tinkering cased another alteration: right mouse click on Start|Explore(and Explore All Users) no longer shows all drives (and their directories & sub-folders) on one screen. Now only one drive (with directories & sub-folders) is shown at a time.
My desktop started acting strangely so I closed down programs and did a reboot which took a lot longer than normal - and later found out that my disk was full. During all of this, Windows somehow forgot where the administrator account was and created a new one that has no access. Can't open any programs, can't open Control Panel or IE. The folders for my old Administrator account are still on a second hard drive where they've always been, but Windows created a newly named Administrator account on my C: drive. I've tried the CTL ALT DEL twice trick to log in as administrator and still have the same situation. No programs work, control panel doesn't work. All give same error message, either it can't find the path or I don't have priv to access. "Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item."I've fixed the full C: drive issue since I can still access Windows Explorer, but can't seem to get my old Administrator account back. I can't delete the user since I can't get into Control Panel. I've started in safe mode and still have same issue.
My browsers, particularly IE (6) dont always respond when I try to open them. With IE about half the time when I click the icon nothing happens. If a then check task manager IE is indeed running and taking up about 14K of memory, but it never opens. If I try opening it again another instance will just open under task manager and nothing will show up. Now if I end all the IE processes in there and then start IE again it'll be fine. But I need to get this fixed.
Recently I had set for guest account by removing the Administrator rights. After that Every 5 minutes there is an error throwing on the screen is as follows : ANIOApi : Fail to open service control manager. Request you to kindly advise me how to solve this problem
I'm not able to open the task manger or it only stays open for a few seconds and closing. Even HJT gets closed after a few seconds. Both actually works right after the computer boots up but shut down in about 30 seconds. I was able to run a scan before it shut down.

Well today I suddenly started having problems and you seem to know what your talking about so I thought I'd ask you.I ran a Trend Micro PC-Cillin Scan and it found the worm, WORM_MUGLY.I which I am working on removing. The problem is that part of removing that requires you to open your task manager and view processes which I am not allowed to do. I tried to run regedit but it opened up to an ms dos window which in the title bar said regedit.com. I ran registry cleaner, ad aware, and spybot search and destroy but to no avail.
i logs into our accounts on windows we receive a pop up for windows installer and sonic decoder. they cannot be canceled unless I open the task manager and manually stop them I cant think of any changes I have made to msconfig or my registry that would cause this. I checked the event viewer log to see if there was any additional info but none was available.
Ok so I have this computer.. and I wanted to just kill a few processes running ... but I can't get the task manager up.. so I was going to just take them off the start up list.... but I can't get the MSconfig to say open either.
I got a virus, McAfee cleaned them and now today I cannot open task manager. It opens then closes that fast. McAfee still finds no viruses. I've ran ewido 2 days ago and spybot. IE sometimes doesn't load and I cannot access the resistry from RunRegedit.exe, it also opens then closes.
