Recently I had set for guest account by removing the Administrator rights. After that Every 5 minutes there is an error throwing on the screen is as follows : ANIOApi : Fail to open service control manager. Request you to kindly advise me how to solve this problem
i have windows xp pro now and i was setting up another user account but when i get on the user account it has a continuous popup saying "failed to get service control manager".
I have frequently been getting BSOD that crashes the computer, and it has to reboot. it usually happens in games, or when I try to alt-f4 out of games.
I have this one error in my Error Log: "22 February 2005 Service Control Manager The following boot-start or system-start driver(s) failed to load: i8042prt".
i need to know what service control manager does because it keeps giving an error in the event viewer and i think that is why my computer freezes rock solid and have to push the restart button. I am running windows xp pro .
Can somebody please help with the following annoying little problem I am encountering? I can't seem to detect and repair the source of the aforementioned titled 'Error Message'. The message reads (exactly) as follows: "The Cfg Registry key denied access to SYSTEM account programs so the Service Control Manager took ownership of the Registry key". It sounds a bit spooky and has got me completely baffled and bemused?
In my Event Viewer under "system" I am getting these constant errors logged at about 12 per second with the big red X saying "Service Control Manager, ID 7001." It is happening whenever I am connected to the internet by e-mail or my browser, which is IE7.What in the world is going on?? No noticeable symptoms, except when it first started I was at Expedia.com and my browser (IE) started acting slow and weird. That was fixed when I re-started but the red error thingys are still logging 12 per second under "system" when on e-mail or the internet.
I have a windows XP and when ever i try to open the task manager, it doesn't open. I try double clicking on my control panel icon on my desktop, but a message or error comes out saying that the administrator disable or something like that? Sorry because I have a Japanese version.I try running a CMD but then it says:the command prompt has been disabled by your administrator. What should i do? I try the following programs to fix this: 1. Malwarebytes 2. ComboFix
I cannot open my task manager or my control panel, when ever I try to open them, it says that the administrator has deleted it or something like that(not sure, the fact that I have a Japanese computer)?I have looked all around the internet for a solution and I found the REGEDIT option but I cannot open REGEDIT for some reason. Please help. Every thing else works fine but I just need help fixing this problem. Well this is a custom made computer so and I don't know how to open the system information.
I have started to get the following message coming up when my machine is booting up: Control Service. The requested control is not valid for this service.Has anybody else experienced this? I am using a Notepad with WXP Pro SP2.
I admit to being a cheap SOB and have bought second han Dell Latitude D610 from work. For security they have COMPLETLY wiped hard drive and only reloaded original Window XP. I have neen working through all sorts of issues in loading all the drivers etc for a week of nights and have almost made it but I am having an issue in loading the MS update. I get the following message in automatic Updates window. "The following updates were not installed Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5SP1 and .NET Frammework 2.0 SP@ Update for Windows Server and Windows XP x86 (KB982524)"Are they important. I think I need them to get the Dell Program Manager to work to download all the drivers (I have done most by transferring to stick from desktop.)
My Dimension 4500 (XP) has developed a serious fault and fails to log-in to accounts with Admin rights, ie password protected. There are two other accounts which do not need a password to log-in and these open correctly and I am able to use them to run some programs and for some limited use of the internet. But I cannot access my E-mails on that computer. Using Acronis, the C:drive is separately backed-up on an external hard drive which I can also interrogate from my Inspiron computer. I cannot use the LAN to contact the faulty computer from my other computers although the LAN operates satisfactorily between them. The breakdown could extend to the other computers if a fault occurred to the router since this is controlled from the Admin accounts which cannot be opened.
My browsers, particularly IE (6) dont always respond when I try to open them. With IE about half the time when I click the icon nothing happens. If a then check task manager IE is indeed running and taking up about 14K of memory, but it never opens. If I try opening it again another instance will just open under task manager and nothing will show up. Now if I end all the IE processes in there and then start IE again it'll be fine. But I need to get this fixed.
when i try to start the isa server i get his message "could not start hte microsoft isa server control service on local computer.error 1053: the service did not respond to the start request" any ideas what the hell this means? i have checked that dependencies are all running and they all do seem to be.
im missing my bluetooth device manager on my control panel. it got uninstalled . i have tried to repair my services pack 2 and installing it again bit wont let me.i run windows XP any other ideas i can try?
hey this may seem like a dumb question for most of you, but whenever i try to hit control, alt, delete, my pc says "task manager has been disabled by your administrator". i am the administrator and i dont remember disabling it, heck, i dont even know how to get to the screen to disable or enable it.
I'm running XP Professional though whether it is a 32 bit or 64 bit, I have no idea.If it is relevant, and someone can tell me how, I'll check and post it up My initial problem was that I recently discovered my PC no longer has any sound. I haven't got speakers attached, I just use the internal one.It still bleeps occasionally but I found that I couldn't play any music or computer sounds.I investigated a bit further by going to the Sound and Audio Devices icon in the control panel where I discovered that there is 'No Audio Device' and no list of devices in the Hardware tab.
Toshiba Tecra laptop / 512 meg / Win XP Pro SP3 Windows repeatedly pops up DEP message closing Generic Host Process for Win32 Svc Sys event viewer shows: The Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) service terminated unexpectedly. It has done this 17 time(s). Attempt to start service from service manager also terminated unexpectedly. I could sure use some help on this one. HJT log attached to show start ups.
well im havin trouble reaching my control panel.when i try to access it, it loads up then closes it automatically and my whole desktop is gone, and justs shows my wallpaper.but in a lil while it comes back.everytime i try to access it, it wont let me and it justs closes and does it over again.also my other problem is that i can't install my service pack 2 it says that it has been "terminated" or sumthin like that.and when i keep on doing it and still says even in safe mode.so u guys know what problem lies here?
So I'm trying to boot my laptop after a severe error in judgment and I'm getting an error before Windows can load that says Code: Service Manager Initialization has terminated unexpectedly with error code 0xc000003aIs there anything I can do about this? I've tried repairing the boot sectors (which I realize aren't at fault) and placed autochk.exe in every directory I can think of (Windows was reporting that it couldn't find it). If I run a chkdsk or scandisk in the recovery console will this be fixed? Or am I doomed to reinstall? This isn't bad since I can simply reinstall and not lose too much, but I'd like another option.
Since installing Service Pack 2, whenever switching on my computer the message "The requested control is not valid for this service". The message disappears when I click on "OK" but I would like to know how to prevent it appearing and just what "the required control"
Initially while on XP Home 1Service Pack I was able to cancel any task running shown in the Task Manager window (alt-ctrl-del). About three weeks ago I started getting "unable to terminate process" message when trying to cancel a SYSTEM task (i.e. javaw). This is still the case. I have since installed the SP2 on my PC.My logon is as an administrator and has been all along. I did not change any settings that could have caused this problem. Is there a setting that I am overlooking that controls this ability?
I'm on my son's XP. He's been dealing with a hacker. Don't know if we got rid of him yet, but now the Ad/Remove program won't open. I've tried using the Control Pane; from the Start button and from the Computer button. Every other button in the Control Panel Works. And yes we've rebooted many times.
from the desktop or from the Start menu. explorer.exe randomly consumes 100% cpu usage and has to be shut down from task manager or a reboot. Sometimes after ending the explorer.exe process, I get the "send/dont' send" error report option to Microsoft. Norton & Windows Defender found nothing, and ad-aware SE hangs.
I can appear to be able to open any window but when I try to access the control Panel I get a "Windows explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. we are sorry for the inconvenience"
I click on Start/My Computer/Control Panel. The screen goes momentarily to the blank background screen, then all the icons and tool bar show back up--but no control panel opens. I am running Windows XP on a Dell computer.
I'm not able to open the task manger or it only stays open for a few seconds and closing. Even HJT gets closed after a few seconds. Both actually works right after the computer boots up but shut down in about 30 seconds. I was able to run a scan before it shut down.

I have been experiencing a problem with Windows Explorer where i cannot open any folders, Control Panel, etc. When I try to do so, explorer restarts. I tried a System Restore and that fixed the problem for the moment, but it came back a couple days later. I ran a virus scan (Norton) and it didn't find anything of note.
Using Windows 2000pro.. Add/Remove Programs will not open in control panel..Tried the fix suggested by Microsoft to no avail.. Also tried letting Windows Setup repair itself. Still no go
