View 6 Replieshey this may seem like a dumb question for most of you, but whenever i try to hit control, alt, delete, my pc says "task manager has been disabled by your administrator". i am the administrator and i dont remember disabling it, heck, i dont even know how to get to the screen to disable or enable it.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a windows XP and when ever i try to open the task manager, it doesn't open. I try double clicking on my control panel icon on my desktop, but a message or error comes out saying that the administrator disable or something like that? Sorry because I have a Japanese version.I try running a CMD but then it says:the command prompt has been disabled by your administrator. What should i do? I try the following programs to fix this:
1. Malwarebytes
2. ComboFix
I cannot open my task manager or my control panel, when ever I try to open them, it says that the administrator has deleted it or something like that(not sure, the fact that I have a Japanese computer)?I have looked all around the internet for a solution and I found the REGEDIT option but I cannot open REGEDIT for some reason. Please help. Every thing else works fine but I just need help fixing this problem. Well this is a custom made computer so and I don't know how to open the system information.

task manager select the program and then switch to.this then allows my programs to work again.i have checked for viruses but found nothing
when I click on task manager it only shows the running task window. it used to have a list of all startup stuff and a thing where I could look at a graph of cpu usage, but those are not there anymore
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have Windows XP and I recently had a problem with my task manager becoming
disabled. Upon attempting to open task manager I would recieve a message
stating that it had been disabled by my administrator, I am the administrator

I attempt to open the help menu in the task manager I get a message stating
that the task manager has encountered a problem and needs to close.
A friend of mine has a 4 yr. old PC running XP Home with 128Mb of memory. He's had problems with programs aborting recently. I tried to run Device Manager to make sure there were no issues there. It briefly brought the screen up, then it went away. The same thing happened to Task Manager when I tried to see what was running and how much memory was being used. Anybody ever see this behavior before? I might try installing a memory cleaner pgm (ie. Memturbo), but I'm not sure I would even be able to get it to run. The hard drive amd memory seem to have no errors.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently downloaded some media files and straight after my computer slowed down to a crawl and then would not respond. The mouse pointer remains active but i cannot click on anything succesfully. The task bar and task manager do not respond at all, i can open files saved on my desktop but cannot do anything when they're open and cannot close them again. I reset my PC a number of times but this did not solve the problem. I assume this is a virus or spyware problem but could it possibly be anything else?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm running XP Professional though whether it is a 32 bit or 64 bit, I have no idea.If it is relevant, and someone can tell me how, I'll check and post it up My initial problem was that I recently discovered my PC no longer has any sound. I haven't got speakers attached, I just use the internal one.It still bleeps occasionally but I found that I couldn't play any music or computer sounds.I investigated a bit further by going to the Sound and Audio Devices icon in the control panel where I discovered that there is 'No Audio Device' and no list of devices in the Hardware tab.

View 2 Replies View RelatedIn my Event Viewer under "system" I am getting these constant errors logged at about 12 per second with the big red X saying "Service Control Manager, ID 7001." It is happening whenever I am connected to the internet by e-mail or my browser, which is IE7.What in the world is going on?? No noticeable symptoms, except when it first started I was at Expedia.com and my browser (IE) started acting slow and weird. That was fixed when I re-started but the red error thingys are still logging 12 per second under "system" when on e-mail or the internet.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am using XP Pro and up until recently when I clicked on the volume control button in the task bar on the lower right hand side of the screen, the button would open up and I could raise or lower the volume with the slider and right click on the button to get an idea of how loud the volume had been increased or decreased. After hooking up a USB turntable and installing the accompaning "AudaCity" software the only sound I can get when I click on the button is the "mute" sound even though there is no check in the "mute" box. It doesn't matter how high or low I raise the slider, the sound is the same; mute.
That really would not be a problem in as much as I am still able to play all .wmv, .wav, .mpeg, and .mp3, etc. files and the volume control button works to control the volume on all these files. The problem is that I was able to record a song from two different albums and save it to "my music" folder, but when I tried to record another song the following day the turntable would not record. I discovered it was not working because there was no sound and thinking perhaps I had muted the PC I checked the volume control button and discovered then there was no sound when I clicked the button.
Recently I had to use my Windows XP Pro disk to repair a problem with Windows XP Pro. Now I don't have the icon in the task bar for the volume control. I have sound, I just don't have the icon. When I go to control panel, then sound and audio devices, and then I click on the box that says put volume icon in task bar. It says the volume control program is not installed and go to add/remove to install it.Where do I find it in the add/remove section?
