I have 100 PC's in same LAN .I need to take a each PC image of hole HDD through LOCAL AREA NETWORK .
1. I dont want to disturb any one of user
2. Need every Week friday Hole HDD backup
3. Save to one server through local network
If PC or laptop crashes i will buy a same config system and restore last week Image Kindly advice any 3 rd party softwares avail or wondows really i am in small business company
I am a 'Novice' to Backups, but am trying to learn.Where is the best place to save Backup files? I am running XP Prof. and carefully ran the Backup utility. I noticed the different options on places to save the files. I noticed I can save it to the 'D' drive (external disc), or my 'C' drive (hard drive). What happens if I save it to my 'C' drive, and my pc crashes.How do I retreive my Backup files, if I cannot turn on my pc? Is it best to save them on disc?

All was fine until yesterday when she asked "what all all these files here in My Documents" I recognized them as files/folder from MY PC. Apparently our PC's now have duplicates of each others MY Documents' on the others PC. I do not want my wife's documents on my PC and I don't want mine on hers. How do I turn off MS Folder Synchronization ? I recently ungraded to Microsoft Office 2007 and I see this MS Office Groove. Is this the program that is doing this?

Under Windows 2000, when I reformat the computer, I add administrator user as a network user in the install process. Then, I go in and add local users to the computer. Later on when I want to add network users, it won't let me, the computer just hangs.

I'm trying to help someone, and they have a folder with the files already available instead of a single backup.bkf file. He wants to restore everything to the original location before the computer restore. How can he do that with the folder he has instead of a backup.bkf file? The restore wizard is asking for a .bkf file to place everything in the original locations, and he doesn't have that.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI've been searching for most parts of the net and the forums here and did install uninstall restore my notepad, paint and wordpad but nothing seems to work.When these files are opened, nothing seems to be a problem. But whenever you attempt to save by Ctrl+S, or the by clicking File>Save or File>Save As the program automatically closes. This has been a consistent behavior for the 3 softwares.I'm using Windows XP 64 bit OS and had no error messages of any sort except that these programs just close themselves when a save attempt is done.I did virus and malware scans by Avast, ESET Nod & Kaspersky and nothing was detected.Reinstalling isn't an option for me now as I don't have any optical drive... besides, this may be very hard for me but I'm willing to suffer for the sake of learning.

I couldn't get it to work to well. I've been using the MS backup utility. With this software it seems any new email causes changes my large Outlook PST file and the whole
file is backed up again. I've been trying to find backup software which will backup just the changed elements of the pst file and have tried downloading a trial version of
continuity@work from Mobiliti who claim to be able to just backup the changes to a PST file. I left continuity@work running overnight and had to stop it as it was only 50% through the backup this morning. It calls it synchronization rather than backup and from the error messages it seems that it doesn't create a shadow image before backing up as several files were not backed up as they were in use.

Im using the "copy" option.so nothing has been appended or incremental.Im just looking to avoid deleting the setup i got, and maybe just delete a few "copy" backups so that theres not 8 gigs / 1 years worth of backups.i only need about 4 months I forgot about it.cuz i never neaded it. View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen downloading files, any type files, just using IE's dialog, or using a Download Manager's dialog, Explorer's Save or Save As panels *will not* allow me to create a new folder on XPpro [current user's] desktop! I am allowed to save the file to the desktop, and of course, can then create a new folder directly on the desktop with the context menu, and etc. It will allow me to create a new folder anywhere else and save any type file being downloaded into that new folder.It simply will not allow me to create a new folder on the Desktop.Could this be some kind of registry alteration?

Then NETWORK MAGIC pops-up and says {YOU ARE NOW CONNECTED} then I have to manually turn on IE6 button to go online, almost like the page {the page cannot be displayed} wants to come up first instead of the connection?
