www.internetcleaningtool.net.There is a task called 'clean free space' included in the program.I do not really understand by the term 'to clean free space' on my drives.If I perform such task,will it delete all the data stored on the selected drive to be cleaned.

Now a days it is insisting to install "Windows Genuine Advantage Validation Tool (KB892130)" first to proceed for downloading update files.Is it a FORCE or I can bypass this tool. I do not want to install it, as somebody told me this is a tool by MS to takeout personal information on my OS (XP) and MS Office and other MS Software.I know I use genuine legal copy.But why should I allow MS to take more information ? Is not WPA through internet is not sufficient ? Can this tool take information on other products/3rd party software like NERO,MS OFFICE and ArcSOft ?

I know it's a good idea to do so on occasion so it keeps your computer in tip-top shape but in all the systems I've had in the past, Windows 95 and Windows 98, it just seemed like it never would complete. AND it took forever!
You'd see the percentage of it increasing and then all of a sudden, it started over. I'd have everything "closed" but I guess there were applications running in the background.
i stopped the defragmentation in middle and now the drive is not opening

I hadn't defraged for a month or so so have tried to do a diskclean and defrag. Filecompression is running but really slowly about 15 mins per percentage point.I have defraged (it is showing 30% defragmentisation) it said the defrag was done but the analysis still shows the same amout of red files.

Well, In the past three months every time I defrag it will come back with a message that says " Some files on this volume could not be defragmented". Blah Blah Blah. So, Naturally, I click view Report. And in the Files that did not defragment category, there is nothing there. I don't know what could cause this.

1. Create a .reg file and name it to whatever you think might fit. (create an empty .txt-file and rename it to whatever.reg)
2. Rightclick it and choose "edit".
3. Paste the following into it:Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOTDriveshellDefragCommand]@="defrag.exe %1 -f -v"
4. Save and close.
5. Doubleclick it and answer yes/ok to the questions.
6. Rightclick a drive and choose 'Defrag' to defragment it......
My Sony VAIO RZ40 has drives C and D. Drive C is so full that Defragger will not work.I have deleted Microsoft Word from drive C (planning to reinstall on drive D) but Properties in drive C does not show any reduction in space used.In addition to Defragger not working, when I choose Disk Cleanup it runs for hours and never does its job.

prompt by typing cmd in the run box, I always got XP''s cmd prompt aka dos
emulator with a name bar and right clicking on it gave me tools to configure
it's appearance and functions. I am not using cmd in full screen mode. I can see it by right clicking the minimized cmd on my task bar, using properties or I can use edit from that right click context, but I want the name bar back. When I go to the right click context>properties and click normal window it should restore this but it doesn't.
I seem to have lost my tool bar at the top of my folders the one with like:- File, Edit, View, Ect also the bar below it with Back, Home, History.
