Java Uninstall Create Error

I recently uninstalled an older version of Java because I updated to the new 1.4.2_06 version, I tried running a program that requires to have the newest java and it told me that I need to update to the newest one, so I knew there was a problem when I go to add/remove programs if I try to uninstall it I get the same error that I get when I try to reinstall it Windows Installer cannot be accessed I went through all the windows forums and know that my installer is running fine and that this is a java issue.

I'm trying to reinstall MSN Messenger because it suddenly stopped working...but I cannot uninstall or repair it. When I try to access C:Program Files MSN Messenger, my PC freezes for a while then a message appears telling me that 'The Disk in drive C is not formatted. Format it now? Yes/No'I also cannot delete the MSN folder because I get a 'data error (cyclic redundancy check)' message.Is there a way I can get ris of the MSN Messenger folder in order to reinstall?

I can't install JAVA on my computer. I get error 1722 from java. I have followed everything on the page regarding how to get around this problem but with no success. I need to uninstall an old java version which is not working correctly. I have jre 1.3.1_13 in the Add/Remove programs with 0.95MB (I think the normal version should have >15MB) however that is the only version that is recognized. All programs try to use that version and so none of them work. For example, a shortcut to a java program does not have the "Open" option when I right click the icon (the same shortcut has that option on the other computer where java works correctly). Also, on the java website, this shows that I have that version. The problem is, I also have installed version 5.0 update 6, but I can not uninstall the old version, because something is corrupted and the uninstall process freezes before it is removed.I have tried deleting all registry keys and values belonging to the old version and it still does not recognize version 5.0 and so I can not launch any java programs from my computer. If I download the 1.3.1 setup to try and re install, the setup process also freezes. However, I can install most programs with no problems, and I can uninstall all programs except java, from the Add/Remove panel without problems too. How can I completely uninstall this version? Or, even better, how can I uninstall ALL java versions to start from scratch with a clean install of one version only? Where can I see all the registry keys and values belonging to each java version? Or maybe there is an easier way to fix this.

I can't uninstall my Java runtime 1.5.0.06 from the add/remove in the Control Panel, the Java Control Panel has this error:"The system cannot find the registry key specified:The registry still shows the old 1.4.2.06 and that seems to be the conflict for being unable to complete the uninstall process.

Do I really need Java updates 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 installed on my computer? Is it not sufficient to have just the latest one and I can uninstall the rest? Also, if I already have SP3 for XP installed, can I uninstall all those "NET framework for SP 2" that are installed on my computer?

I don't know where to put this topic. But alright so basically yesterday I started having this problem. When I go to anything that uses Java such as Geocities my computer starts making a chugging noise and the browser (IE or Firefox) crashes. It brings up one of those senseless error messages about something failing. I'd look now but it'd close this screen. I tried uninstalling Java but when I try uninstalling the JS2E Runtime Enviroment 5.0 Update 5 it won't let me uninstall either. It makes the same noise and freezes up the window. What in the hell do I do? I've never had a problem quite like this.

I keep getting an error 25099 unzipping core files failed when I try to install the latest java update. I can't find any java runtime on my pc. I am running xp sp3 on an e- machine t3504. I recently removed sun office and it apparently removed java as well.

This is a bit of a sprawling issue, so I hope I've hit the preferred forum.
For the last 2-3 weeks I have had problems getting Windows XP to recognise both my MP3 interface and that of my digital camera.
I could manually locate my digital camera, via My Computer - assigned as the F drive, but my MP3 was not recognised at all.
Using advice from a forum, it was suggested that a System Restore might be the first place to look.
I confess that I hadn't tried that because a previous attempt was rewarded with a message saying that Windows was not able to do that.
At that point I turned it off in disgust.
However, I guess that this action had purged the restore data held at that point, replenished the disk space available and got it working again, because it worked and both pieces of hardware were recognised again.
So far, so good.
Later that day I revisited the Secunia website for an on-line scan to check that all my major programs had been restored as current as possible with regard to security issues.
Despite having gone there with no problems over the last 6 weeks or so, the scan could not take place owing to the site's inability to load the required Java applet (the site told me this).
I imagined at that point that that this problem was down to my Java having been restored to an earlier version by System Restore and that some vital element to that had been junked by either Registry Mechanic or CCleaner during one of my registry clean-ups in between time.
No problem, I thought, just un-install it then re-install Java from the Sun website.
But no - Windows Installer came back with the message "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable".
I am aware that there are a couple of elements to Java, but have regretably not got round to getting properly informed about their function within the Windows (XP Home, Service Pack 3 in my case).
So far, I haven't missed whatever it does in its entire form, but I have noticed a few blank spaces in some websites and I cannot use UK websites to make purchases that require the "Verified by Visa" additional security layer.
Any assistance with restoring Java fuctions to the usual would be much appreciated. I have visited the Sun website and tried a couple of downloads, but both were met with the same response by Windows Installer.
I am also not really keen to go for a further System Restore as not only did my Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 complain bitterly with messages about corrupt files and vital security data being compromised, but I couldn't say at what restore point I would be resurrecting the problem at the root of it all.

I am programming 2 links on a web page to pop up new browser windows. These windows contain pdf files. They need to use the same popup window, so I named the window. It works fine, but I am getting a "member not found" error in the main window where the links are. I do not get the error in Firefox, only in IE, which makes me suspect IE java security issues.

while it looks like it has loaded fine, it appears that I am able to create some kind of error where another of the exact piece I'm moving is created. This new piece then replaces another piece, seemingly at random, rendering the puzzle unable to be completed since it is now missing a piece and with one duplicate piece. I've cleared the cache for all three browsers constantly, and set my javascript to not store any files on my computer so that it loads the puzzles every time, but it still gives me that error.
I've come to realise it might be an issue with my version of java, which is kind of hilarious seeing that the old versions seem to work fine, but the latest version won't. (Using build 1.6.0_20-b02) Uninstalled all my Java, installed a version that works on another computer (build 1.6.0_17-b04), with the same error

When I sign into MyCQU & then launch webmail I first get a message come up that says session timed out log in again, which is ridiculous given that I'm only just logging in then. If I click on the red cross to close that message down my webmail will actually show up BUT if I then want to say compose a message I then either get an error page comes up saying - ERROR. The requested URL could not be retrieved

My grandson and my daughter decided that Personal Computer weighted down so decided to clean it up.What they didn't do was add/remove programs and delete most junk first.What they did do was try to reinstall XP on top of XP.I was thinking they would delete,reformat and re-install.We now have message saying that XP cannot load windows,because a Dll is missing.Cannot get into safe mode to get into control panel to delete,reformat and reinstall.Have genuine microsoft windows XP.Or any way I can get windows 98 back onto machine,to restart Windows for which I have a boot disk.Exactly what have I to do to try to get machine operational.

In order to re-install Microsoft AntiSpyware, I decided to uninstall the antispyware. During the uninstallation, I got the following error: Microsoft AntiSpyware Installer Information Error 1402. Could not open key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE-SOFTWARE-MicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionRun. Verify that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personnel. I bought a Dell system with XP. After upgrading(incl. new motherboard) the already installed Nike Philips MP3 player "Digital Media Manager" software wouldn't work. Nike/Philips sent me to Dell who sent me back to Nike/Philips who then sent me to Microsoft who I have so far been unable to contact successfully.Tried to uninstall software but received variety of errors, incl. some Java ones. Eventually appeared to delete it but trying to reinstall software always displays "Digital Media Manager already installed". Have tried manually removing some Registry elements but I'm clearly missing some. Does anyone know precisely which Registry elements I need to remove for a complete manual uninstallation ?

I have a problem with my Installshield engine, and so I am unable to install/uninstall programs. I am running Windows XP home on a pentium IV, 2.4 GHZ with 512 ram. I think the problem started when I was installing a program called eBay Blackthorne from a download. Now, any install/uninstall is affected.
The error is "Internal error # 2738".
