Create A Movie With Pictures And Music - Error To Shut Down
Oct 21, 2007
ok, my problem is with Win.Movie Maker, I'm trying to create a movie with pictures and music etc, I can't get past 6 or 7 pic's before an error window pops up telling me that they have encountered a problem and have to shut down. Now, I can't get past the 6 pic's selected - it shuts me down on the onset
I will try to explain as well as I can. My friend has been having some slight computer problems lately so I went over to take a look. The first problem that the screen would get a lot of jibberish on it. Pixels or what ever. I tried a new cable and uninstalled and reinstalled the driver and no go. I installed a new driver and the same. Finally I tried a new video card and it worked great. That is just the first of the problem. I then noticed that one of his hdd on his raid 1 had gone bad so I took it out and got it replaced. In the meantime when I restarted his computer it did a disc check and did some things I had never seen before but it completed the check on the good disc. All seemed to be working well until a few days ago he said that his music was doing crazy things so I went over to take another look. I played a song and it would start in the middle of the song and play a whole nother song. I would play Queen and Celine would come on but it would start in the middle of one of her songs. Not all the songs are like that though. We never did count but I would venture to say at least half are still good. I then just out of curiosity went to his pictures and they also had problems. A couple of them would show up and the others would not. They still showed they had 1.6mb or 2mb in each folder for the pictures but nothing would show up. He mentioned something about some power surges but he is proteced with a battery backup ups from APC. What does it sound like to you?

I use XP Pro SP1. Everytime I open Windows Explorer, then click My Documents, I find My Pictures and My Music listed as subfolders. I manually delete them. Next time I open My Documents, there they are again. Any tips on how to permanently prevent these 2 items from appearing?
The special icon for "My Pictures" is gone and access to these files is compromised (they are there, but don't work like they should). Unable to run iTunes, a problem which started at the same time. The iTunes error originally request chdisk, which I did, problem persisted. Installed new iTunes version and did System Restore to one day prior to problem. Now iTunes simply crashes when I attempt to start it. I tried running the Desktop.ini reset command, no change due to that either. I am running XP Home with multiple users.
I'm running XP-SP3 and have followed every suggestion I've found in a web search to permanently remove "my pictures, "my music," etc. And they seem to work...until I reboot when they reappear in full force! Can you tell me how I can remove these horrible irritants once and for all?
I used to always get a little box asking what I wanted to do when I put in either a music or picture cd.....the box has things such as copy pictures to computer, start a slide show, etc.....I insert the cd and there is no box....? I highlight the drive....( H, my plug in drive with all my pictures and cd's) and go to file, properties, auto play and the box that usually shows is there....now, how do I get that box to pop up on my screen whenever I insert a cd??????? the music and picture cd works...I hear music and see pictures, I would just like this box to appear and ask me what I want to do.
A friend's computer total nightmare she doesn't know much about computers, and it seems thoroughly messed up. Tried installing Windows Defender, and it couldn't find her "My Pictures" folder so it didn't install. So I looked under her My Documents folder. It's missing the My Pictures and My Music folders. Plus, the other folders that are there, such as My Videos, etc., their icons are not special, they look like ordinary folders. Her computer's "Shared Documents" section looks fine, with all the usual folders with special icons, etc.
The settings in my folder options have been changed. If i left click any file it comes up wth access denied.. However if i right click and go to open then the file will open. The problem was caused by going Tools>folder options> file types.... file folder and folder have been changed on the advanced button..also AudioCD file has been changed.
This is a bit weird and I have a feeling it's something that will have to be adjusted in the registry...
I have my My Documents on my physical second D: drive while all my programs and the OS are on the C: drive. In the My Documents folder is the My Music, My Video, My Pictures folders that XP automatically assigns icons for and doesn't allow you to change the look of them.
I had been backing up this internal 60GB D:My Documents to an external 120GB USB drive. I decided to put the external one into the computer because I bought another external 160GB drive for backup.
OK, everything is fine, but the icons for My Music, My Video, My Pictures folders that XP automatically assigns are no more, they are just plain looking folders, but I can't customize them because these are the special folders that XP assigns for their specific use.
Does any one know what might have happened? Is it possible that the different serial number of the drive, or something else may have messed things up?
I'd like to delete My Pictures and My Music folders within My Documents. Though whenever I do, the My Pictures and My Music icons on the Start Menu will not open.
It's redundancy not to my liking to have My Pictures and My Music folders within My Documents folder, and to have My Pictures and My Music icons on the Start Menu; which lead to the same folders.
Is there a way to delete My Pictures and My Music folders within My Documents folder, while still retaining their Start Menu functionality?
The normal loading time is about 1-2 seconds. Loading time has been ranging from 2 to 45 seconds from start menu, desktop shortcuts, and Windows Explorer. All other programs load normal speed 1-4 seconds. My Documents, which I use the most often, is the worst. Doesn?t appear to depend on how many programs/windows are open or if I am on the internet. Using AVG Free antivirus-no infections found, except 20 or so level 3 cookie/yieldmanagers when loading Internet Explorer/Firefox. No recent changes to the computer. Only 5% of hard drive being used. Spybot/Adaware/AVG run every couple of days. This has been happening for 17 days, tried several previous system restore points--no effect. Defragged?although XP indicated this unnecessary. I use an APC battery backup. Scan Disk run several days ago--no problems found. This morning working normally for first time since problem began (no action taken)?yesterday loading times varied from 4-35 seconds throughout the day.
Everytime I open my pictures, where I have gigabite after gigabite worth of pics and video's stores, the OS, windows or whatever you choose to call it, sends me an error message that windows needs to shut down this program. Blah bla ...and asks me if I want to report thisI have a DELL inspiron, completely legit version of XP but my DELL warranty expired and I do not know where to turn.
I have Windows Movie Maker version 5.1 and it just simply does not show any options for file type in the Save Movie Wizard settings. I do get options that affect file size/resolution but no "Other" settings. Do I have the wrong version of WMM? I'd like to save my movies as .avi files
I have recently bought an Averatec Laptop (5400) with an Slimtype DVDRW SOSW-852S unit (DVD R/RW) it has Windows XP Pro Sp2. Last weekend I bougth a DVD Movie hoping to see it on my laptop, but when I insert the disc nothing happen. I had installed the PoverDvd 5 and I figure could be a software issue so I upgrade to Poverdvd 6 and the same nothing happen. Actually I can read and write CD even audio CD. The error that show poverdvd is "No disk in Drive D:" if I search with the explorer the conten of the unit is empty. I follow the "technical support and help" process without succesfull. so what we need to do in order to watch my DVD Movie? Also I can't see a Data DVD.
Windows Movie Maker cannot save the movie to the specified location. Verify that the source files used in your movie are still available, that saving location is still available and that there is enough free disk space available, and then try again.
This error is driving me nuts.
Not matter what drive I select, no matter what files I use as a source, I STILL GET THIS ERROR.
I have 2 hard drives, one with 35 gigs free space, the other with 90 gigs of free space. I have 2 gigs of RAM. AMD 64 3700+ processor.
Computer is windows xp.I am getting an error message when I play a game.Error message goes as follows shock wave movie playback has an error unable to continue.
Within my, "My Pictures" folder I have a great many sub folders containing thousands of pictures. In all but a couple of folders is the option to view as a filmstrip (which I prefer). However there is a folder (within "My Pictures") that I'm using now that doesn't have that option!Does anyone know why, not all folders in "MY PICTURES", has the option for filmstrip?
There seems to be a problem with the My Pictures folder located in My Documents. whenever i open it,a windows explorer popup screen says there's an error with explorer..."Windows Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." My Pictures cannot also be used with any other application,eg.setting up Avatars or when creating a DVD title menu(as in using a background display picture). Since I use ZoneAlarm whenever i open the my pictures folder a program alert appears saying windows explorer is trying to communicate with vsmon.exe...on clicking deny the explorer error pops up. I tried copying the pictures in the folder to an empty hard drive partition but instead the hard drive partition stopped working...i.e. the same explorer error popped up,making the partition inaccessible. I then had to format the partition.
I/O Device errorI have a Dell GX240 running windows xp professional 40GB hard drive, 512 memory with pentium 4 processor. I have a Maxtor 250GB external hard drive where I store my music files at. I tried to do a disk cleanup on the external drive and all of a sudden when I try to open some of the folders I'm getting this error message.g:my musicshared folderpaul mccartney is not accesible The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error.
Im mad that my My Music folder is empty, how do i put my windows media player music in it? whenever i download music i just go to "Add to windows media player", how do i bring that to "My music"
I've been having a problem since upgrading to XP a few months ago. About 75% of the times that I open up "my pictures" in "my documents" (where I store lots of my digital photos) I get the error message where it asks you if you want to send an error report. Whether I choose to or not, or even if I simply shut the message, "my pictures" closes and I therefore cannot access the folder. The other 25% of the time it opens fine.As I say, it's just photos and short videos stored in here, all taken by my own digital camera. Virus and other problem checkers haven't detected anything, and there's no reason to suspect these files are infected with anything.
I'm currently using an Esystem laptop that other than the odd error beep will not play music file or sounds on games.I needed WLAN driver a few days ago and you helped brilliantly, supplying me with the file.
I have bought a laptop that has windows pro 2000 installed and want to connect to i'net via my wireless router on my main comp.the laptop shows that wireless is working fine.I cannot connect to net I was told that I have to create a new connection..but I have tried my best to do so and am lost.
I recently uninstalled an older version of Java because I updated to the new 1.4.2_06 version, I tried running a program that requires to have the newest java and it told me that I need to update to the newest one, so I knew there was a problem when I go to add/remove programs if I try to uninstall it I get the same error that I get when I try to reinstall it Windows Installer cannot be accessed I went through all the windows forums and know that my installer is running fine and that this is a java issue.
