Imesh Uninstallation - Can't Find Install.log File
Apr 14, 2009
I am running Windows XP and have tried to uninstall imesh. One of two things happens. One is that, in the add/remove programs, when i try to uninstall, it simply freezes up or...i get the "can't find install.log file" message. I redownloaded the program, but that doesn't help; nothing changes.

my XP install started acting up and whenever it loaded the XP boot screen, my HDD light stayed on, and after a couple of minutes, my computer restarted itself. To find the problem, I started XP in safe mode, and it went to load up till a file mup.sys(?), can't remember. I re-plugged my SATA cable (I have a Samsung SpinPoint 160GB on a MSI P965 Neo-F running a Core 2 Duo E6600 at stock clocks), switched the cable, and checked that my mobo's bios was emulating the RAID device on IDE. The thing is, every other OS finds my HDD (even Win 2000!): Linux, Vista, Mac OS-X (I was desperate). I'm running openSUSE 10.2 right now, and I desperately need Windows back! My dad won't let me install Vista yet.

I found this little trick out when changing the setting on booth Kazaa and imesh. This tweak alows you to search for files on the KaZaA p2p application and download them on the more stable and faster imesh server this is how it is done1. Create a new folder in My Documents called "Imesh And Kazaa"2. Open KaZaA3. Click Tools then Options4. Click on Traffic5. The where it says "Folder for downloaded file" put it in the "C:/My Documents/imesh and kazaa" folder6.
Close KaZaA7. Open Imesh8. Click on "Preferences" then "options"9. then click on "Locations"10. Then click on "Change" and make it the "imesh and kazaa" folder you created earlyer.11. Close iMeshnow to search for files on kazaa and download them on imesh this is what you have to do1. Open Kazaa2. Search for the file you want3. Start the download4. Close kazaa5. Open imesh6. then if you click on the download icon you will notice that the download is also thereSUBNOTE:

I use windows xp-emachines EL1200-06w. thelast 8 months i have had no problem with "imesh" a web site that you log into, listen, download free-if available, buy if you want, and also a chat room, from around the world. its free, except of course, the music that isnt downloadable, bla bla. i have through them over 300 free and i do mean free music, and whole albums, a few videas. i also have intermeshed with this site, my own personal music. some of this music cost me 2300. for 1 album. its mine bought and paid for, and have had since 1983. i trusted this site, and windows xp, and microsoft, or i would never never put my personal music in the media player. Started with media 10. updated to 11. no problems, till now. Now, i have a message saying that all music in my media player, cannot be used in my mp3, cannot make own personal cd, cannot sit infront of computer, turn up speakers, and liten to anything in my media player. I now have "corrupt license" i may have to buy any or possible all music inorder to listen to it. i will give back GLADLY all to imesh that was free. but i have over 267 cds, lp albums, cassets, and yes-2 8 tracks. 17 of these items are now obsolete. and if found, extremely expensive. I like my music, i will pay for it! but i digress, how do i get my personal music back? frankly pissed off.

Have installed Kazaa, Imesh, Limewire and eMule. Have deleted Kazaa and iMesh, yet my Pest Control keeps telling me that I have P2P and TOPics coming up though I ran the delete several times. Do I need to worry about this or how do I get rid of it for good?? I want to keep Limewire and eMule.

I was uninstalling Norton Antivirus 2005 and during the uninstallation process, the PC rebooted (without warning me) and then the computer sat at a black screen. The screen said "disk boot failure insert system disk and press enter". Can you please let me know what might be causing the problem? I haven't made any recent hardware or software changes to the computer (other than attempting to uninstall Norton Antivirus 2005).

I mistakenly installed the drivers for a CM Audio sound card to my Windows XP Professional computer. Although the uninstallation seems to go OK from the screen messages, there is still an entry in the 'Program list' in Control Panel - I guess I can remove this using Tweak UI?More of a problem is that , after attempting uninstallation, I receive an error message on start up "Cannot find cmicnfg.cpl" which I understand to be a Control Panel problem.By using Everest I have identified the offending item and this is produced above.

I am running windows xp sp3. I tried to uninstall Frost Wire, via add or remove programs. I noticed that after it supposedly uninstalled from the a or r file the shortcut was still listed on my desktop. So I searched for F W and found a few references that popped up after my search. When I right clicked on them and tried to delete, that is when I received the above error message

When double clicking the actual file, Windows reports "windows cannot find file ... <file name.exe>"
This is only SOME exe's. Particularly, older programs. Word, excel, WordPerfect all work. Older apps don't.
I've tried the exe fixes on dougknox.com site and kelly's corner XP fix.

just booted and installed windows xp SP1. I have 4 other computers connected to a working wireless router, with this computer connected by an ethernet cable. The cable is working properly, because my laptop can connect to the network through it. I need to connect to the internet on my new computer to run updates, download latest drivers, etc...basically getting this beast ready to start installing my favorite programs and games. But, when I plug the ethernet cable into the port on the mobo, windows doesnt detect it. There is no LAN option in the 'Network Connections' folder, but a '1394 Connection'. How do I get windows to reconize the port This is either a problem with the MOBO (asus crosshair) or a problem with SP1, and i dont know which

I just reinstalled WIN XP Pro, and now I sitll have the programs on the hard drive, but nothing in the "START / All Programs" menu. I recall on other Win OSs' that they had a "search for installed Program" option. Does Win XP pro have anything like that ?
I am aware some programs will have to be re-installed due to regeistration issues. I am hoping not too many.

I have a file in my start menu and I would like to find the source of this (shortcut) file. I tried right-clicking, viewing properties. It does not say where the shortcut comes from. Also, the file is Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro, but I can't find the original file .exe where this is launching from. I checked C:Program Files, but that only has the initial set up files. Where are the actual files?

My 2nd drive isn't allowing me to delete any files from it. when i try i get an error that reads "error deleting file cannot find specified path". this started occurring when the wires on the drive came loose causing the drive to intermittently lose power. i fixed that and now i'm screwed.what i've done: i tried deleting from safe mode and that didn't work. i checked all the wires on my drives and they are fine now. i got a program called "moveonboot" that deleted a few files, but i want to fix the problem, not find a way around it.
