Oct 1, 2007Everytime i start up my pc i get two "Backweb.dl" errors.
View 10 RepliesEverytime i start up my pc i get two "Backweb.dl" errors.
View 10 RepliesI receive an error code every time I start up my computer: Could not load the target dll "BackWeb" directory does not exist on my computer. I recently allowed someone access to my computer for a time and came home to it being full of popups/errors etc, so I did a thorough clean with AVG and TrendMicro, and now no longer receive any virus otifications in scans. Registry errors and spyware still come up though, which I am continuing to try to take care of with CCleaner, Ad-aware, and Spybot S&D. Now, This was probably a corrupted .dll file, and considering the error message, it seems likely.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI did a google search on the runner error -Invalid Backweb Application ID "137903"-. A website told me to run a search for programs with "backweb" in them and unistall/delete them. I deleted one program (application?) from the C:/ drive and now my computer is frozen. The mouse moves; however, I am unable to open anything including the recycle bin so that I can put the program back on the computer. I have tried to restart and it still happens.

View 2 Replies View RelatedIm running windows XP SP2 on a very new Dell Laptop. I was loading software and now I get an error about defwatch.exe.
I have added a screenshot below.
also, whenever i use the windows explorer it takes atleast 8-12 seconds to load so i can view my drives
I have done a search and get the idea that defwsatch.exe has something to do with Symantec Antivirus definition update. I do have the files on my pc but there is no uninstaller. I dont have the software loaded and It doesnt not appear in the add/remove programs index.
Also, what do those error codes/memory address in the message refer to?
Windows XP Media Center Edition w/ SP3.Every few times I turn on my computer, there will be an error regarding explorer.exe (something like the something failed to initialize at *some random letters and numbers*). When I then log onto any user accounts, including administrator, the screen will not load. I will sit staring at the wallpaper with no taskbar or desktop shortcuts. The only thing I can do is the *windows + L* to switch user and log out, or CTRL+ALT+DEL to get to the task manager. There will be an abnormally low number of processes running (in the 30's). I will have to restart the computer and hope for the best on my next try for the computer to load.
Also, a similar problem. Occasionally (1 out of every 4 tries or so), when one user is logged in and hits *switch user* (but stays logged in), no other users may load. When the other users try to login, they are instantly logged out to the blue login screen again. You can see the background for possible a half of a second before getting logged out. There is no error message or anything of the sort. These errors all have come up in the past few weeks. I am stumped and have no clue what to do.
when i start my computer i get an error message saying that it cannot find a certain hive file.some systemroot/extensions etc it all disappears before i ca read it. we just had a power surge. it was on a protecter but it didn't protect it very well. anyway i am runing xp x64. i start it up, loads mem test etc and i press f1 like normal. then it shows the windows xp screen with the progress bar then i get a blue screen with that error message and then it restarts.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI open the System Configuration Utilility, go to the "Startup" tab, click on a program I no longer wish to run at startup and get an error message stating: "An access denied error was returned while attempting to change a service. You may need to log on using an Administrator Account to make the specified changes".I then click on OK to the error message and then the text box pops up stating the usual "You must restart your computer for some of the changes made by System Configuration to take effect". "Restart" - "Exit without Restart".

I get this error message on shutdown and boot-up, which reads:
"The vsdatant service failed to start due to the following error:

CHKdsk runs on startup for my C drive. 43% of the way through step 1 a "blue screen error" flashes on the screen and my computer reboots. This would continue but it fortunately gives me a step to skip chkdsk. Unfortunately the error message flashes by too quick for me to read. I have tried going into event viewer, looking under application and trying to find winlogon but it does not seem to be there. There also does not seem to be any entries under application, security or system for todays date. How can a view this error message? My computer otherwise works fine but I wonder if there's an impending problem...
I am using a 1.6 ghz dell with Windows XP
I have Dell Inspiron with Windows XP 2000. Every time I start my computer I get this error:Error loading C:WINDOWSsystem32cpmsky.dll

I cannot get it to boot in safe mode but I can boot to a DOS prompt in the Microsoft Windows Recovery console.

View 8 Replies View RelatedFor the last 4 weeks or so I have been having problems starting up my computer. It freezes on the password screen, it automatically restarts, usually takes me about 4 attempts to get my computer up and running. Then, when I finally do get it going it gives me a message saying:

It BSOD'd the other night after I was browsing the internet. My computer was acting really sluggish, and I restarted it. Then I got the BSOD. I left it for the morning when I re-started it, and it started fine, for a few minutes, but after a minute or so I got the same BSOD. This happened several months ago and I fixed it by opening up my PC and re-setting the video card. I did it again and this time it didn't help any...........
I've been having this problem for about three weeks now and it's really starting to get annoying Every time I start my computer, that message that comes up when your computer is unexpectedly shows and I can choose to start with either safe mode, safe mode with networking, safe mode with command prompt, last known good configuration or start windows normally. Every single one of these that I choose, the exact same thing happens:The Windows loading screen will come up and the boxes will go from left to right in that rectangle under the windows logo and then all of a sudden a blue screen with some text on it will flash really fast and then the computer will restart. I can't read any of the text because it restarts too fast.
View 6 Replies View RelatedUpon starting my computer, everything boots normally, but every time it does, a blank error message box appears (with that red X) with the only contents in the box an 'ok' button. When I hit the OK button, nothing happens (the system mostly runs fine, except for some random shut down issues (after about, say, 100 hours or so of being on). I am on Windows XP Home edition. Running Adaware, Spyware Doctor, and Norton A/V doesn't fix it.
View 14 Replies View RelatedRecently, my computer would boot up and there would be double blue lines flickering on the screen. Sometimes, there would be a box of flashing lines that followed the cursor. Eventually, my computer would stop booting up, and I would get the blue screen with the following information: Page fault in nonpaged area
Stop: 0x00000050 (0x9A4878F4, 0x00000000, 0x8052B6CC, 0x00000000)From what I have read, this could be a software or hardware problem. I downloaded Memtest and ran that many times over long periods, but it did not find errors with my RAM (or at least what it could test). Reading that it could be something in the registry that is no longer valid or corrupted, I downloaded CCleaner, ran it, and fixed the errors. Still no resolution to the problem. I have scanned for viruses and malware using Symantic Antivirus, Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, and SUPER Antispyware, but it found nothing out of the ordinary. I am not sure if my registry is corrupted or perhaps the RAM on my video card is at fault, but the laptop starts up fine in Safe Mode and works well (making me think it is not the video/graphics card). I would like to know what I could do to fix my problem short of wiping out my system and reinstalling the operating system.
i cannot go past starting windows screen after that it gives me a message: winlogon.exe application error instruction a "0x00dafcf0" reference memory at "0x00dafcf0" memory could not be written.then it turns to blue screen:Stop:c000021a (fatal error)windows logon process system process terminate unexpectedley with status of 0xc0000005 system has been shut down at the time this happened i was downloading panda anti-virus and did not delete my anti-virus program and had also downloaded a2hijack program that was running at the time
