Folder Size-Too Big?
Oct 17, 2005I have a 250 slave drive, and I noticed that I have about 30+g of data in a single folder.Could this cause any problems? Could a folder have too much data in it?

Huge Size Of Folder
Feb 19, 2008OS: windows XP sp2, physical memory:1.5 GB any one knows why my windows folder size is 5 GB.it was 2 GB when my windows was new installed .but after the automatic updates installed , and after i installed Visual studio 2005 ,and other softwares it became 5 GB in size.

Sep 24, 2008Weird thing is happening to one of the Win 2000 workstation. When I right click on WINNT folder and choose properties - the size shows 15.xx GB. When I go into to WINNT folder and select all files and folder (including hidden), and choose properties, the size shows only 2.xx GB. anyone knows how to find out the difference? I need free up some HDD space.

Oct 14, 2006I have finally decided to put my screen settings to 1024-768 or what ever that one is lol .. but my only problem now is the font size.. for example up top of this page where it says file,edit, view etc..is really small and same as the name thats down on my bar at the bottom of my screen where my open windows are they are really small and I want to make them bigger how do I do that? also .. my quick launch icons are super small can I make them bigger? Dec 23, 2009I am using an elderly 3M LCD projection panel on an overhead prjector for big screen Tv, driven by XP pro SP3. The panel has no controls for vertical/horizontal size and whatever monitor is used, an OS desktop fills the screen by default. I can resize the window for the TV viewing program in the normal way,just filling my projection screen, but the XP desktop is far too large.Does anyone know of a way to change the physical size of the desktop (including the taskbar) so that it sits in the LCD screen with a blank border all around, or maybe even make it custom resizeable as in a program window ( without changing the resolution)?

Could someone please explain what the difference is because I'm in the process of allocating space for backed up user data on a network share and I need to multiply the average file size by the number of users to get an estimate of how much space to allocate to that share.

You can customize a folder with a "folder type" - Documents, Pictures, Music, Video, etc - which comes with a default view and a list of default attributes most relevant to the type (artist and album title for music, dimension for video, etc). You can also setup so that the settings are "memorized". However, the memory seems to be quite short term for some of my folders. They tend to randomly reset themselves and there seems to be a consistent but unrecognizable pattern. Jun 30, 2008i updated my windows XP home edition to service pack2, but i recently found out that my system32 folder is missing from C:WINDOWS.I also use search to look for it and i couldn't find it anywhere on My Computer.I have also been getting an Application error recently and i have noticed this after i deleted my AVG anti-virus (I'm not sure whether deleting AVG was the problem).The error says:"The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000005). Click on OK to terminate the application.Sometimes the application is rundll32.exe, explorer.exe and when i turn on my computer it says that the error is userinit.exe at the welcome screen.

Is there a way to increase the max size of a log? Or, alternatively, in
chksdk options can you specify a text file as log output?
