Enable To Connect: Computer Keeps Randomly Disconnecting/losing Internet Connection?

I use wireless device which connects to my Desktop downstairs,which in turn connects to the router upstairs. So I've been randomly disconnecting when playing games like WoW, and CoH & losing connection on the internet as well. It can't be the router I assume since the laptop upstairs which connects to the same thing never disconnects. I have a D-Link router and a D-link gaming router which connects to the PC. Any help?

My laptop has recently been lagging severely and randomly disconnecting from the internet. It hasn't done this before and when I scan with my antivirus it doesn't find anything. But when I run my computer in safe mode I have no problems at all, so its probably a virus.

just the other day my internet started disconnecting itself then my modem would dial another number after maybe 45 mins to an hour of being connected. i thought it might be a dialer so i scanned with norton antivirus, spybot search and destroy and adaware but not one seamed to find anything related to my problem. the thing that confuses me is that every time it makes a new connection in my network settings labeled with user followed by what i assume is a randomly generated number.

My computer recently started randomly having this window come up. I took a couple of print screens.There is also one to do with System32. I don't know what it means and why it's popping up! My computer has been running very slow since this has started to happen, and my virus scanner comes up clean. My internet connection also randomly drops.

He describes the symptoms as his internet connection keeps mysteriously dropping or disconnecting, and he randomly gets Blue Screens. I'm no real expert on computers, but he's had the 'downloader', 'fake alert' and 'taskdir' viruses lately, and i'm guessing that they could be what is causing it. He's tried tonnes of scanners and stuff, but none seem to get rid of them.....

I am losing only picture and video files my computer. I save a file off the internet it usually lasts a few days on my hard drive and then disappears. I have used windows 98 and currently use 2000 and have the same problem. I have tried an external hard drive and saved the file and then disconnected the USB cable and the same thing happens next time i connect it. I have formatted hard drive a couple of times and problem reoccurred both times.

The problem I'm having has changed over the past week, and every time I thought I was getting closer to being fixed, it got worse. Mcafee anti-virus did an auto-update, and right after that, windows lost all of it's file associations. I'm sure I can give more information upon request, and I look forward to working this out and maybe learning something.

On Friday, I allowed the computer to install a number of security upgrades as well as a malicious software removal tool from MS. Since that reboot, the following things have happened: Got warning about failure of write back cache Blue screen about kernel that MS reported was due to bad HD. Finally able to boot into safe mode and found no HD errors. Thought registry corrupted, so tried to redo with a reload on top of the XP Pro but the program said it is older than that on computer (probably SP2) and won't let me reload.

computer would randomly lock up or say no signal on my monitor screen..I bought a new video card thinking that was the problem, it was not. I then had my brother look at it, people told me I had a virus from Limewire or nVidia.com and that I should do a full reformat right away, it would only do a quick one and it still didn't help it and when I tried to do a full one I would get an error that says I should put it in safe mode and disable components or something along those lines.I got a new hard drive, but then I had no mouse or internet. I installed my mother board CD. I restarted it thinking it would say new hardware found. I have reinstalled Windows and reinstalled my mother board CD, I tried my mouse on another PC and it worked fine.

After long periods of my internet connection being idle (2+ hours usually), all programs requiring internet access are unable to connect. By idle I mean I leave to run some errands with no programs other than Zone Alarm running. My DSL modem still has all lights flashing and active. There are a couple other scenarios where this occurs as well. Ex. I'm playing WoW for extended periods but not using the internet through any other program, then upon alt-tabbing no other applications are able to connect to the internet even though WoW is still connected and functioning. Rebooting the router/modem doesn't fix it, but rebooting the comp does.

The problem is the computer keeps losing its video display. Just went black. I reinstall the drivers and restart and the computer runs fine. Use fine, then after its been on for awhile it goes black again. Weird. I have the newest drivers and all the windows updates loaded. It just keeps going out. I have tried several screens as well to rule out the monitor freaking out.

I have a Gateway 560GE 3.0 GHZ Windows XP. I don't understand what is going on with my computer connecting to the internet. It will usually connect ok in the morning but in the afternoon it won't connect at all, I use AOL or People PC to connect & neither one will connect. With People PC I get the error #721. I have McAfee spyware and Norton Internet Security 2005 on my computer

After a while I began to notice that my PC was running slowly. I decided to reinstall Windows XP like i do every September. Now my network connection to my WRT54g v6 goes out about every 20 minutes or so. So I go into my network panel and repair the connection and eveything is fine for about another 20 minutes. I have tried 3 different routers all with the same result. I have also tried 2 different network cards. What in the world is wrong?

I would use one, but I don't want one so I disabled it in Security Center. But Microsoft thinks I must have inadvertently disabled it, so Windows Update occasionally turns it back on.Is there a registry tweak to prevent Microsoft from turning the firewall back on?

When connected to the internet, the computer randomly reboots itself. It appears to dislike some sites more than others. I have tried running anti virus and anti spyware but this semms to just alleviate but not cure the problem. If a message is sent to Microsoft it claims that te Webstar has the solution, but this does not appear to work either.or I am not applying it correctly.I have an HP 200GB Pavilion with pentium 4 processor, XP, using blueyonder broadband.

I have a file server (Win2K Server) and two Win XP Pro PCs connected to it. I never turn the PCs off, just the monitors at night. Most every morning, after all night of no activity, when I try to access the domain drives, it cannot find them. I have to reboot. Also, when I do reboot, it takes anywhere from 3-5 minutes to come to the desktop after typing in the password. I am about ready to go back to Win2K. Never had this problem Win2K Pro.

Recently reformatted my pc fix a few problems now i have a new problem my dsl line keeps losing connection iv'e called the my provider they have checked my cables phone line even my neighbors phone lines im still losing connection on my dsl modem the internet and DSL go out at the same time internet light stays off while the dsl light blinks red with its one demon eye it doesnt stay offline it comes back in about a minute or so but it does it every 5-20min.

On one of my laptops I keep losing my internet connection. In Network Connections, when I right-click and look at the properties, this laptop only has general & advance tabs and on my other one has the wireless network tab. I was told to go in to SERVICES.MSC and start the Wireless Zero Configuration service. Well, this did work, but they said when I reboot it wouldn't remember it and I would have to do this all over again.

I have 69.1 memory free from 74.5 and i noticed no matter how much i delete i cant get up into the 70s.For example this month i have deleted a ton of music files that came up to about 400mb,Then a few programs that were around 50mb each and still nothing .If anything it seems i am going down in memory instead of gaining from deleting these programs.

I just got hit by a trojan that attempts to download malware. My virus protection stopped all the downloads and I was able to manually remove the trojan, but I'm concerned I may have missed something. Three times in the last couple of days, I have discovered the dialer on my computer open like some application was trying to connect to the internet.

I am unable to connect to the internet from a computer that is directly connected to a 2Wire wireless router with a ethernet cable, the serial number to it is 2701HG-B. side note i am able to connect wirelessly with a laptop and even with a xbox 360 with an ethernet cable. i called support and they said that the problem is because of a software app but it is not the anti virus or the firewall i have installed.

I can't get it connect to the internet. I know the connection is good, because I can see other computers on my home network, and those computers can get to the internet (like this one). The Bad computer has IE 7, which loads ok but then I can't get anything on the web. Also have Mozilla Firefox loaded which I was using for a while, but now it won't even open up.

a problem with my computer freezing up. I have windows XP. I cannot enter Run on the start up menu. When clicking on a school program I have installed it freezes. I tried to uninstall AutoCAd LT thinking that may be causing a problem. I cannot remove it because the system freezes.The system ran fine a week ago. I do not have the system connected to the internet. I also tried system restore but still have a problem with the computer freezing.

I tried to install ZoneAlarm last week which crashed during the installation. This has caused multiple issues:1 - Can't shut computer down - I can get to the "log off", "shut down" and "restart" option of which none do anything so I'm forced to unplug as the power on/off doesn't work either. I've checked the power management options and these are normal.2 - Can't connect to the internet via my network card. Replaced the card as the network cable works on laptop and though it was the card but no luck(Modem goes to router which splits to 2 PC's and laptop
