Aug 26, 2007

I currently own an older dell latitude cpx laptop, its fairly outdated, i know but im currently running it off of my wireless router, i have a d-link wireless-g adapter in my pcmcia slot, but when i boot my laptop with it, i get blue screen errors, but if unplug it and boot it up then plug in my adapter, it works perfect, i know its not a big deal to just plug it n after i boot up but i was wondering.

Dell Latitude CPU To TV

Sep 5, 2007

I am currently trying to hook up my dell latitude cpx to my tv to use it as my monitor. It has an S-Video out port, and my tv has RCA ports only, so i purchased a cable which is s-video to an rca connector for my video in. Well when I boot up my laptop, when i get to the welcome screen in xp, it starts to display on my tv, but then about 5 to 10 seconds after that it flickers and the picture goes away.Ive tried everything in the display settings and also enabled everything in my BOIS, with no luck.

Uninstall Service Pack 2 Dell Latitude

Jul 13, 2005

I dont know if this is the right place to put this question, but anyway: I have a brand new Dell Latitude. I think that Windows XP servicepack 2 is making some problem. The bigger problem is that I cant uninstall it. I have tried through Control Panel, and the tips Microsoft gives themselves. I guess a problem is that it is preinstalled on the computer. I have reinstalled the computer, but it is still ServicePack 2.

Showing Self Loading Image For Dell Latitude

Apr 4, 2010

If this has been addressed in the forums; then apologies all around. I have a Dell Latitude L400. The HDD has been low level formatted and is clean, I also know it to be fully operational, It won't boot from the USB port, so there is no hope of loading XP back onto it through a usb dvd drive. I have read that there is a docking port adapter for this thing, but the cost of finding one; well, you do the math. I have tried repeatedly to 'preload' DOS or even XP to no avail. Call it Karma or stupidity, but I simply can not find a definitive answer as to how to get anything onto the laptop drive stable enough to get Xp to load normally. Forget the preloading from another computer because all it does is 'windows' logo and then blue screen, so that's out. and no amount of bios jocky-ing is going to do it either. And just to be redundant, this isn't a netbook or current technology that recognizes booting from the usb port, so we can skip that too.

BSOD On Dell Laptop - Stopped On Blue Screen

Oct 5, 2010

I am trying to fix a friends notebook but every time I turn on the computer it takes me to the safe mode selection and which ever mode I select, it starts loading but breaks out to the blue screen with the following error: 0x001902030x8e572b80xc00001020x00000000. I had this machine about a month ago and after checking the Hd and cleaning it I uninstalled Norton security and installed avira. I took it back to him and I thought everything was OK but he said he had put it in a closet for a couple of weeks and when he tried to turn it on it stopped on the Blue screen every time. I would run chkdsk /f if I could get to the CMD prompt but can never get past this error. 0x001902030x8e572b80xc00001020x00000000 Anyone have any advice for me. I don't have his XP disk but can probably get it if I need to.

Dell Inspiron Blue Screen - Music Blaring

Jan 3, 2008

I had a computer, a Dell Inspiron B130, and I was about to run the last released version of the DooM source port Risen3d. Earlier, I had turned up the volume due to a music file being very low. The result was E1M1 blasting to all the people in the very small room. I tried to turn the volume down, but the old PC was having a hard enough time loading all the hiresolution textures and MD2 models. The power button wouldn't work, so I closed the cover and started to walk out. The music stopped, and the power lights went off. I opened the cover to restart the comp, then the lights came back on, the music blaring again, and I was starting to get stared at. I'm very shy, so I just pulled the plug on the laptop. The battery wasn't connected properly, and the power was cut instantly. Everything stopped, and I waited for a while to let thing cool off (one problem with the PC is that it doesn't ever give me heat errors even though the botom is about to melt off).

I put the battery back in properly, and turned it on. It went normal, showing me the Dell BIOS screen, then the second BIOS screen, then the boot options came on. It said to choose reboot normaly if you didn't know what happened or there was a power failure. I chose it, and after the Windows boot screen came up (I am running Windows XP Home Edition) and the little blue bar went all the way accross, a blue screen came up with an error message. A wiser computer man than I said to just leave it alone for a while, so I'll give what I remember. It was saying how an error had come up and something like "SECTION3_INITIALIZATION_FAILED" and said ***STOP (some address here, when I try again I'll post it) I didn't have a reboot button, so I had to cold restart. I tried every boot mode available, and safe mode gave me the same errors. The only thing that works is the diagnostics partition of the hard drive. It says all is well, and everything surely isn't right. The original operating system is on there, and no recovery disk is included. It shouldn't be a virus or a malware, I have had no problems until now. If the system is toast, tell me what I should do to get some data off the drive, I need some of that stuff. (as in almost life and death need, but more like a money loss need)

Dell Dimension 8100 Desktop Getting Blue Screen After Rebuild?

Feb 5, 2007

I've been trying to bring my husband's older Dell 8100 P4 desktop back to life. It was an old ME system initially. I've done the following:Replaced the motherboard and ide cables New CMOS battery Flashed BIOS Replaced and upgraded the memory Reformatted the harddrive (using another system) and loaded Win XP Pro I've used this same harddrive (with XP Pro) sucessfully on another Dell so I know there is nothing wrong with the boot files. But when I install it in the broke Dell...no joy.

It hangs in the "Windows can not start normally" pick Safe Mode, Last Known Good Config...etc loop. None of the options work and it flashes a quick BSOD dump error (too fast for me to see) and then back through the loop. The BIOS recognizes all the drives, the memory, processor, etc.I also tried to boot with alot of the extra hardware removed (removed NIC, sound card, modem, un-hooked optical drives, etc) --- still same no-boot loop.

Page Fault In Unpaged Area, Blue Screen After Startup Dell Inspiron 6400

May 31, 2008

Dell Inspiron 6400, Windows XP I can usually fix simple problems, so many people ask me to help them with simple problems. My mother had what i thought to be a simple problem that now appears to be a fatal problem. My mom ran Lavasoft Ad-Aware because the computer seemed to be running slower then normal, also receiving many more pop-ups then normal. Ad-Aware was detecting around 50 infections, the infections kept returning even after Ad-Aware 'fixed' them. many pop-ups and slow performance. I did the same thing, ran Ad-Aware, and recognized that the majority of infections cam from the same root files; rustock, vxgame and spyware.trojan. Ad-Aware could not remove them so i downloaded Spybot, Spybot did the same thing, recognized them but after restart the problems and the infections were still there.
