For some reason, an Microsoft Outlook icon has appeared on my Desktop.I don't want it there because I don't use it. (I use Outlook Express 6.0). But I hesitate to delete it as it doesn't appear to be a shortcut, but the program itself.How can I move this to where it belongs, i.e. somewhere in Program Files?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI installed the software for a HP DeskJet 5940 photo printer that I purchased. Afterwards, a "Safely remove hardware" icon appeared in the taskbar. None of the startup entries for the new printer are running in the background, so I don't know how to get rid of it.
1. Right-click within the notification area, and then click Properties.
2. On the Taskbar tab, click Customize.
3. Select Safely remove hardware, and in the Behavior column, click Always hide.
Several unwanted desktop icons appeared recently (I think they come via Search2000 when IE is used). They won't right-click for deletion, nor will they allow themselves to be drop-dragged to the recycle bin. They don't appear in the desktop icon list when using the desktop cleanup feature.

I cannot get my printer or scanner to mail from those sites. i have a pd hotmail acct and also gmail and windstream acct. i use incredimail too. I went into tools and selected my incredimail acct for emails but for some reason they are going to the outlook programs and will not mail from there. i tried to set up new email accts from both but they will not mail.. I have tried to email from my excel program too and the same is happening.

there are 2 icons appeared in my desktop when I tried to delete them, they will be deleted but then appeared back again in my desktop. When I'm using the internet the content of that icon will just be automatically opened in different tab without clicking it and just pops multiple times after being closed. How can I remove these 2 icons. Anyway, The reason for this thread is because something bizarre happened. I had just sent 2 or 3 files to the Recycle Bin. Then I right-clicked it and hit "Empty Recycle Bin". It deleted the files; that's all well and fine. Then I noticed, that after I deleted them, the icon had paper in the bin like there were files in it. So I opened it and saw nothing. I closed that and saw the icon still said there were files in it. So I right-clicked, hit "Empty Recycle Bin", then saw the same old "Are you sure you want to delete (insert file)?" message. Instinctively, I hit "Yes" and started reading what file it was while clicking it. BAM. The file was I thought for sure my PC was screwed for good. But I checked in "HP_PAVILION C" and it was still there, I looked again at the "Recycle Bin" and everything was fine.
View 6 Replies View RelatedWhen I downloaded the updated drivers for my hp scanner software, an icon appeared on my desktop and if I right click it to delete it my computer freezes. If I drag it to the recycle bin or any other folder it just duplicates it and it is still on the desktop. I can't find anywhere else where I could delete it from the registry for example or add/delete programs list. I can't rename it , to try to delete it, because of the freezing issue. I use Windows XP and Office 2003.
I'm running Windows XP Pro SP2.I've downloaded all the necessary patches for the daylight savings time fix and my clock is ahead one hour than it should. The checkbox to automatically adjust clock is checked and I've tried going back and forth on different time zones to get the it right; but it will not work. Also using Outlook 2007, but only for some minor email usage. Was told that Outlook 07 did not need a patch, only needed one if you did stuff with the calendar.

I have made sure that in the search, all hidden folders are shown, but there is no local settings folder, so I cannot continue on to the Application Data Microsoft Outlook.pst location.
