Recycle bin does not display any files after I remove some files. However, the properties of recycle bin are in normal setting which means that the removed files will not be deleted immediately. Thus, I do not why that
happen.
Well all of a sudden, whenever i delete something, it doesn't ask me if i am sure i want to delete this item, it just deletes it. and if i look it my recycling bin, there is nothing there. i have ad-aware see updated and spybot s&d updated and fixed the problems.
yeah, uhh... im not sure what happened, but i created a new folder to drop compressed files into, did what i needed to do, everything was fine... i went and deelted it (didnt need it anymore) and it said that i couldnt because it was write-protected. i went in and deleted each file to see if any were running, and no... so i deleted them all, and then the folder, and it deleted. went to empty the recycle bin, and it emptied, but still showed up as full, tried to empty and i got this
alright, i got mad last time iw as here and swore i'd never comeback but well i'm desperate I have managed to somehow recycle my recycle bin. Can't find it in a search.
My system is set up with three harddrives and multiple partitions on each drive.I know that if I just delete a file, it's stored in the Recycle Bin and not actually deleted, even if I empty the bin. However, since the Recycle Bin is on the C: drive, if I delete a file from another drive's partition, and then I use Eraser on the Recycle Bin to overwrite the files inside, are the files still on the partition and the empty space on it now has to also be Erased?
Have a Sony multimedia pc with WinXP Pro. It does keep time or date. I suspected the battery to be the culprit, so I replaced it. It still does not keep time. ? The pc is in warranty, but I will have to ship it out at my expense to have it repaired. Could the pc have more than one battery. The one I replaced is one I was familiar with as being the memory battery. It is about the size of a quarter.
I'm new to the forum and have a small problem that is driving me crazy. Searching all over different forums and the rest of the internet has left me without an answer.I understand that the taskbar clock will go out of sync once in a while. The problem is I can't sync with the internet time autoupdate option. It gives me an error but doesn't say what's wrong.I'd like it to update without a third party program if at all possible.
I do hate how Internet Explorer is taking space of your HD with a (Temporary) wait a moment I just type TEMPORARY, but why is it that untill you go and deleted those files they will be clear? Is there a way to set up a number of calendar days and those will auto delete? This and many more reason I am making the move to Mac.
Just recently my computer changes the date when restarted. It goes to September 2003. It always goes to 2003.I have reset the BIOS date properly which lasts until I restart again.
I wanted to see what date I had last accessed one of my documents so I right-clicked its icon, chose Properites and discovered the date "August 29, 2005." That would have been ok but I didn't remember even looking at that doc for over a year. It got really weird (for me at least) when I checked other documents' Properties and *every* one of them had the date "August 29, 2005" down as the date last accessed! No - I didn't look at everything on my machine on that day! I then experimented by clicking out/back in to Properties and saw that the correct access date (in this case, today) was now listed
Where is all the locations that the time and date can be set in the computer. In control panel it is correct but some where in this box it is confused. I know I deleted something and it indicated that it was done months ago. Today my wife ordered something over the internet and it gave the date as Jan.
When I start my Averatec c3500 notebook (XP), the time/date setting is the same as when it was last shut down. I rarely connect this computer to the internet so I must manually reset the time/date when I first run this computer. If this requires a new CMOS battery, where is it located & how do I access it on a notebook PC?
I have a Dell PC running Windows XP that will not retain the date and time settings. Usually within a 24 hour period I have to go in and manually change the date from January 2003 to the current date and also put in the correct time. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?
I just noticed that the Last Used Date shown for programs in the Add/Remove list does not always agree with what I know to be the case. For instance, Bridge Baron 14 show as being last used on 3/9/2004. I just finished using it this morning so it seems like the date should be today's. The same holds true for many other programs in the list.Do I misunderstand what the Last Used date indicates?
My Fujitsu Siemens computer running under Windows XP resets the date to January 1st 2002 00:00:00 everytime i switch on and load windows? This started happening after i had problems with panda antvirus or should i say virus! any thoughts on how to sort this out would be greatly received
Whenever I run a program like NOD32, iTunes, or even the Windows Update utility, an error message comes up saying that the system time is incorrect, even though it is clearly not. I reformatted, reinstalled Windows, and went through the steps in the Microsoft knowledge base to no avail.
I am testing different XP windows scheduling ideas that are set to run every Wednesday morning at 1.00 am and Saturday morning at 1.00 am. How do I change the system clock to test the schedules which have been created? The system clock has to stay active for six hours, which is the length of time it takes to run all the projects.
When I try to access some websites, I get a "Security Alert - this site's security certificate is not up to date" message. My options are continue or not or view certificate.

I'm having this weird problem in my computer's date and time. Its adding 100 years randomly, because of that I have to set it to the right date because other applications won't work with that time and date. And when I say randomly, meaning you don't know when it will change the date and time.
Every time I try to restore my laptop to an earlier date,it tells me I cant. All the dates I have tried are highlighted,so I think I should be able to.Running windows xp.
I have a restore point about 3 months ago which I want to keep, but the calender will soon automatically remove it.Is there a way of copying the "old" restore point to a newer date ?
Intel 4 Pentium with 1.5 GB of RAM Memory Windows XP Professional with all patches up to date. HDD of 150 GB partioned into a System Area of 50 GB and Data Area of 100 GB. The System Area has 21 GB of free space.Upon selection of Hibernate, the process starts but takes about 10 minute to complete. Then the computer restarts instead of powering off at the end of the hibernation process. It does say that it is resuming windows. If you select Turn Off instead of Shift+Click over the Standby button (i.e. Hibernate), the system will power off.
I have a 9 year old desktop computer whose motherboard was replaced about 4 years ago with an AMD NF4XK8MC or NF4K8MC motherboard. It has a 64 bit 3000 processor. It is running at 1.81GHz and has 1.25 GB of RAM.The system is running on Windows XP including service pack 2. It is fitted with a 80 GB hard drive formatted to NTFS. Everything is running OK except that every time I switch on the computer and it boots up, it seems to forget the date and time. I go onto the control panel and reset the date and time and it managers to remember the date and time until I switch off the computer and reboot it. It is only a minor problem but is annoying tthat I have to keep resetting it.
I can not restore my computer back to a later date. I am running windows xp sp2. I went to the restore point and it does not have a check mark in the box.
My computer will not let me restore to a previous date. I downloaded IE-7 and I don't like it, but I read on this site that I can go back to IE-6 by uninstalling IE-7. Why can't I do a restore to say last week? It looks like it is restoring, but then stops.
