I have an HP dv6000z series i didnt buy the System Recovery DVD for windows xp media can someone help me out on how i can create it please?
also when i upgrade to my free vista, will there be a System Recovery DVD for it also?
I had a Dell with XP Media Center Edition on it and I am going to make a new build. My question is, can I use the XP Media Center RECOVERY CD that came with the dell if I were to have a new CD KEY?

TrueImage requested me to insert an empty CD into my CD burning drive.But: I already inserted an EMPTY medium. Even when I erase all (not existing) content and tried the operation againTrueImage told me the same. Changing to another empty RW-CD yields no success.It seems to me that TrueImage needs a preparation of the CD before putting the ecovery files on it.

View 1 Replies View RelatedThis system had loads of problems by the time i got it to "fix" it wont system restore - they have all been deleted, BSOD, serious error recovery every other start, viruses, spyware by the ton.Simple start would be to try a repair, if that doesnt work total reinstall as i just cant be bothered with it.Problem is the Fujitsu Siemens recovery disc when used from windows states the serial is incorrect.The sticker on the box states "Win XP Media center Edition 2005".The Fujitsu Siemens Recovery CD states "Win XP Home Edition-SP2".Now unless there is some "Trick" that im not aware of it isn't ever going to work! so Fujitsu Siemens sent the wrong disc with the system and it only now when its needed that i realise they are wrong! The system probably isn't in warranty and Fujitsu Siemens don't allow any form of Email support.
View 6 Replies View RelatedHaving recently had someone else using my computer for a while, installing various software (like winamp and SubEdit player) it seems windows media player (that's what I use) no longer recognises the usual files as media files like .mp3 .wmv .m3u .avi etc etc so when I click open file and select "media files (all types)" in the file type box it shows nothing, so I have to change it to all files which is irritating. Media player still plays everything fine but this is pretty annoying.

The file may have been tampered with or it was partially signed but not fully signed with the correct private key.I have the original installation disk from Dell, but it won't recognise the key that came with the pc to re install it. Is there any way I can repair the file in question. I have tried uninstalling sp3, and using the recovery program, but nothing is working to make it work again.

The problem is, when I launch my "Vaio PCV-RS430G" recovery disc it goes straight to Sony's proprietary recovery interface which provides ONLY the preset option to wipe my 'c' drive and reinstall Windows. According to some MS articles I've read, an XP recovery disc should allow me to access the Windows Recovery Console (by typing "R" at the welcome screen). When I hit F10 upon startup in order to access the system recovery, nothing happens- it boots as it would regularly. I was able to boot up using the CD, and am now in the System Recovery console. We need to install a retriction that will create an Administrator Password that can not be deleted by simply logging into safe mode. Also, we need to make it impossible for the students to create their own accounts with their own passwords. Right now the teachers are having a hard time, because several knuckleheads keep making a mess by changing the instructor's passwords and creating their own unique ones.
