I have never had this kind of problem before. The other day i was playin on online then i stopped and went to be, with the computer on. I also know i have some virus called trojan GE . and its in the systeme 32 file and is called ridirv , i think that is how it is spelled .. anyways. i woke up and moved the mouse and the computer was showing the screen to pick between safe mode or last known ... start windows you know. anyways i click last know configuration and it doesnt get past the windows loading screen and just restarts over and over. I tried to take out some memory and use one stick. I dont know what else to try.

I'm currently having problem with my other computer. Today when i start my computer, it goes through the normal things the hard drives and stuff except for one thing different, it shows me 5 options on how to boot: start normally, safe and etc. I choose normal thinking that theres no problem with my computer. Once it goes to the window loading screen, after 5 seconds it restarts. Then it goes through the same thing over and over. I don't know what to do to fix this problem.

Let me just say I'm not the computer savvy one in the family, waiting for him to get home later. So once I would login to windows I would get about 2 seconds before the screen would flash blue and I'd get some message I couldn't make out. I did some searching on your forums; and have now logged into safe mode, turned off the automatic restart and here's the error I get on the blue screen: A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer. If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again follow these steps: Check to be sure you have adequate disk space. If a driver is identified in the stop message, disable the driver or check with the manufacturer for driver updates. Try changing video adapters.

In short, I screwed up the c:/windows folder, computer starts but screen stays black, bios screen doesn't show up. Everything is connected.
Using xp home. Computer was purchased in 2004. Fairly nice computer for it's age, would like to restore it back to working condition. For a detailed description of the events leading to what happened read below. Any questions, post and I'll answer, I'll be checking back every 10-30 min. I figure it is the hard drive but who knows.

Not positive this is the right place, if not tell me otherwise and I'll gladly move it. Heres the scoop though, I just finished building an i7 930 build asus II Rampage gene motherboard, one tera byte harddrive, 3 gb 1800 mhz ddr3 ram, and a gt220 1 gb video card. It will start up show the motherboard logo, then go to the xp loading screen and start doing the scrolling loader. about on the 6th scroll it will freeze, go black, then lit up black, then black and then restart all together. Nothing in the hardware seems to be out of place so im assuming its XP itself. i have checked the bios and the tempuratures seem normal. I just fully finished this build yesterday, I installed some drivers for the right parts, which made it restart and it ran fine. Then i installed a game and played it for a little while before shutting it down, when I came back a few hours later it started with this madness.

i have a problem with my windows xp service pack 2.while starting my pc it restarts one or two times and then starts properly and checks the drive on which the pagefile is allocated alongwith the system drive.
i think there is a problem with the pagefile allocation because i have found that the drive check takes place of that drive on which the pagefile is allocated.

I have a friend who is using windows xp.When they boot the computer up.They encounter a black screen with some wording. He tells me that the wording is to do with ms dos. Then the screen goes black, with just the cusor showing in the top hand left corner.
I have an idea of what the problem is,and think that someone has gone into his settings and asked the machine to boot up in dos.

For the last couple days I have been having this issue. All of a sudden my computer goes blank, a blue screen appears for a split second and then it restarts. I can't even read the blue screen it goes by so quick. Is there anyway for me to find out what it is saying? Is there a log somewhere or something?

I just bought a new hard drive for my computer because with the old one I was having problems with creating a new partition and installing XP... so I figured the Hard Drive itself was the problem. Anyways, I have the new drive hooked up, I run windows XP setup and it loads all of the files. It finishes and says "setup is starting windows" after this my screen goes black, the computer restarts and the cycle repeats.

My computer started to do this wierd thing where it would load at the windows screen, then go to a blue screen, then restart. It tells me its shutting down to prevent memory loss, also tells me these numbers: 0x0000007E (0xC0000006, 0x806A276D, 0xF789E6E8, 0xF789E3E4)Before this started Windows prompted me to download a service pack, It worked fine ulti about two days later. So I start the computer in safe mode and do system restore, that doesent work. I started again and did a virus scan and it wouldent let me. So after trying and trying I finally gave up, I had nothing i wanted on that hard drive, so I decided just to reinstall windows. I pop the CD in there, and it asks me if I want to repair, I tried that. Now it wont even let me run safe mode.I do boot from cd, but when it loads the CD i cant see anything but a blue screen, like it froze or my screen doesent load it.

When i was checking the computer out at sellers house, it did not crash and worked fine, I took it home for a good price (i thought) at $300. There was an instance of Windows XP installed, and seller asked me to format it before I started using the computer, I agreed and headed home. To test it out I installed Prince of Persia and ran that, everything went smoothly and I was satisfied. I then went out and bought a nice $200 widescreen monitor (the 15" crt wasnt cutting it) and the wireless card as it only had ethernet. Hooked up the new monitor and wireless connected to the internet and started installing WoW. At disk 5 it frooze up and its all gone downhill from there

Computer reboots always at the same point in a game (start of Creature phase in Spore) when its starting/trying to process an introdutory movie/animation.It happened one time, I tried again, it rebooted my computer again, so I tried to by pass the problem by starting a new game, using someone elses save game and it happened again. So I searched for information and discovered how to turn off Restart so I could get a Blue Screen with a BCCode.I got the Blue Screen and learned how to view the error log on windowns going to Control Panel> Administration Tools> Event Viewer> System. There I found the multiple occurences of the same error when the computer restarts.

My laptop has begun flashing a blue error screen prior to restarting at random. This is not following any hardware or new driver installation; the only software I have installed recently is Bloodshed Dev C++.I had a hard drive failure on this same laptop about 6 months ago; since then I installed a new hard drive, reinstalled XP Pro, all drivers and programs, and it has run without a hitch since then for the duration of the last 6 months...until today.I disabled automatic restarts and the blue screen error It looks to me like a driver error, but I have not updated or installed any new drivers or devices recently. I was hoping to avoid reinstallation of all drivers- could any of you point me towards a more specific fix? I'm not aware of what "w22n51.sys" is for, or the most obvious source for repair.

When I turn on my computer, everything seems to be going fine... the manufacturer's screen comes up, then the screen that shows Windows is loading, then it kindof gets stuck between the loading screen and the welcome screen. It just goes black. The hard drive will run continually as if it's searching for the rest of the information, but can't find it.

I had a similar problem not too long ago where my PC would not load and I had to re-install windows. But now, If I try to press F8 it just ignores it and carrys on into loading windows normally, which causes the PC to freeze. This also happens when I try and boot from my windows setup disk. I have checked all the lights on my keyboard and they are all on and working whenever I press Caps Lock etc.As for Viruses etc. I had not downloaded anything new onto the PC since this last hapened and I have been running regular Anti-Virus scans every 2-3 days.

I recently got a new PC that I built up myself, and I could run it perfectly until I was going to start XP for the first time. After that it was finished installing Windows XP Professional, it rebooted and I got this XP loading screen. Now is the problem, it's stuck there forever with this loading thing moving and moving in an endless loop. What could be the problem? I hope it's nothing hardware related as they are all new.

Today I turned on my computer and Windows won't load. It just stops at the loading screen (the one with the Windows logo and blue loading bar). The bar just stops moving.I can load Windows in Safe Mode, and I tried scanning for viruses (0) and spyware (5) - but it didn't help.I didn't install anything new and haven't changed any setting. The only thing is that I turned my computer on while there was a CD in the drive. I took it out but it didn't help.

I had a power supply die out of nowhere on me about a month ago. Last night I replaced it, and when starting up my computer I was given the option to boot windows normally, in safe mode, or in my last known configuration. Any of these options take me to the black screen with the windows logo and the blue loading bar, as usual. However, I am stuck at this screen. I've never encountered this, what do you think could be the problem?

My dad installed some program on his computer, didn't like it, and uninstalled it. After that, his computer crashed and I haven't been able to get passed the screen with Windows XP Professional and the moving blue bar and then it freezes. Last Good Configuration doesn't work; it ends up at the same place and the blue bar stops also. I System Restored it to the day before he installed the program; once again, the blue bar stops moving.Could this be a hardware issue? Virus (unlikely)?
