Unable To Find Resource Of Restarts On Loading Screen?
Jul 22, 2010
Not positive this is the right place, if not tell me otherwise and I'll gladly move it. Heres the scoop though, I just finished building an i7 930 build asus II Rampage gene motherboard, one tera byte harddrive, 3 gb 1800 mhz ddr3 ram, and a gt220 1 gb video card. It will start up show the motherboard logo, then go to the xp loading screen and start doing the scrolling loader. about on the 6th scroll it will freeze, go black, then lit up black, then black and then restart all together. Nothing in the hardware seems to be out of place so im assuming its XP itself. i have checked the bios and the tempuratures seem normal. I just fully finished this build yesterday, I installed some drivers for the right parts, which made it restart and it ran fine. Then i installed a game and played it for a little while before shutting it down, when I came back a few hours later it started with this madness.

I have this strange problem with my Dell Inspiron 930. When I open Fire Fox the CPU loads jumps to 100% and my mouse cuts out. The laptop hits temperatures of 60C +. I have done a virus using Avast Anti Virus and have found nothing. I have even made it scan before windows loads. I have done the same thing with spy bot search and destroy and I am really out of Ideas. This also effects Virtual DJ and Steam (Only in the community Tab = The one with flash). I think it might be Flash that is causing this, but I don't know how to complete remove flash from my laptop so that it can be reinstalled. Can someone please tell me how to remove and tell me if they know whats happening to my system.

I'm currently having problem with my other computer. Today when i start my computer, it goes through the normal things the hard drives and stuff except for one thing different, it shows me 5 options on how to boot: start normally, safe and etc. I choose normal thinking that theres no problem with my computer. Once it goes to the window loading screen, after 5 seconds it restarts. Then it goes through the same thing over and over. I don't know what to do to fix this problem.

When I boot up my xp pc the very last acion on bootup is a message box that states" Cannot Find Resource FIle". I go to Event Viewer and there are two items there:
1)The COM+ Messages service failed to start due to the following error: The system cannot find the file specified.
2)The following boot-start or system-start driver(s) failed to load: SMPLSCSI
Until recently 1 month ago, this message box never appeared. What is SMPLSCSI and how can I make this messagebox go away?

I'll get right to the point. When starting up my computer, it doesn't make it to the desktop anymore. It goes halfway and then restarts.I restarted the computer, and the mouse still didn't work. So instead, I flipped the swith in the back of the PC to completely shut it off. However, the computer was still starting up on the desktop, but I've done that before without problems.
I turn the computer back on, and all of a sudden I get to a screen that says this:We apologise for the inconvenience, but windows did not start successfully A recent hardware or software change might have caused this. (Note: The only changes I made recently were the unplugging/replugging of the internet cable, mouse, and keyboard).

Toshiba Satellite running on windows XP
When I start the computer, it asks if for the choice of Safe Mode, w/ Networking, w/Command Prompt or Normally.
I've tried them all and if I try it normally, it won't get past the XP loading screen. It's loading and then it flashes a blue screen for a second and then restarts the computer again.
I tried pressing F8 at boot and selected 'Disable automatic restart on system failure' and this is what I get
STOP: 0x00000024 (0x00190203, 0x83306788, 0xC0000102, 0x00000000)
I even tried using this http://forums.techguy.org/6669592-post28.html to get to chkdsk At boot, F12, chose CD/DVD, but still nothing, I even tried disabling boot from +HDD, FDD and LAN from the bios setup menu to see if it works and this is what I got, it just keeps going on and on unless I enable boot from +HDD

I couldnt start up windows. It would hang at the windows loading screen and go no further. So I was told to try a repair-install. And thats where even more trouble has started. So I started to repair-install. During the Windows Install setup, it gets almost to the point of being completed, but gave me a blue screen error STOP message at around the "18 minutes left" mark. During "Registering components". It would do this every time at the same spot. So I searched a bit about how to solve the problem. One suggestion I found on the interwebs was to try it with only one stick of ram installed, I have four overall at 2gb. So I tried that, next time I boot up to the comp, it loads up the bios, and then goes to the black windows loading screen with the loading bar, then starts with a blue screen saying "Setup is being restarted" So I figure its restarting my windows installation since it never was completed, after that message, the screen goes black with a cursor, and stays that way forever. I immediately put all the ram back in, and no luck, same thing. I tested each individual ram stick, same thing, just goes black. So now, I can't even seem to re-install windows. Did my hard drive just crap out? Some hardware issue? Im already thinking about buying a new fresh hard drive, installing windows on there, and just moving all my files from the old hard drive over to the new one. Though that would be a pain, I really want to save my current drive! And all the data on it.

My PC has been unplugged for a few days and when I hooked everything up to startup the PC I get to the XP logo startup then the system restarts and goes to the safe mood/normal bootup screen. I have tried all of the different startup options, but each keeps looping a system restart. I cycled the power on my surge protector and am currently using a different pc on the same surge protector with the same power cable with no issues. Can anyone offer any advice as to why the PC is not starting? Also, I reinstalled a fresh copy of XP Pro on the PC about a month ago and everything was working fine before I unplugged it for a couple of days. The PC was not moved at all after I unplugged everything, it has just been sitting in the corner of my room.

For the last couple days I have been having this issue. All of a sudden my computer goes blank, a blue screen appears for a split second and then it restarts. I can't even read the blue screen it goes by so quick. Is there anyway for me to find out what it is saying? Is there a log somewhere or something?

As the thread title probably shows, I've been having some difficulties with my system as of late. At first I thought it might have been some bad memory so I changed it out for 2 completely different sticks of RAM, but the symptoms persist.Shortly after loading Windows (XP latest patch) I will be going on about my business and the system sometimes freezes, at other times reboots, and often blue screens. I rarely get the chance to catch the blue screen error messages as the system tends to restart immediately afterward.

I just bought a new hard drive for my computer because with the old one I was having problems with creating a new partition and installing XP... so I figured the Hard Drive itself was the problem. Anyways, I have the new drive hooked up, I run windows XP setup and it loads all of the files. It finishes and says "setup is starting windows" after this my screen goes black, the computer restarts and the cycle repeats.

My computer started to do this wierd thing where it would load at the windows screen, then go to a blue screen, then restart. It tells me its shutting down to prevent memory loss, also tells me these numbers: 0x0000007E (0xC0000006, 0x806A276D, 0xF789E6E8, 0xF789E3E4)Before this started Windows prompted me to download a service pack, It worked fine ulti about two days later. So I start the computer in safe mode and do system restore, that doesent work. I started again and did a virus scan and it wouldent let me. So after trying and trying I finally gave up, I had nothing i wanted on that hard drive, so I decided just to reinstall windows. I pop the CD in there, and it asks me if I want to repair, I tried that. Now it wont even let me run safe mode.I do boot from cd, but when it loads the CD i cant see anything but a blue screen, like it froze or my screen doesent load it.

I have given my sister my old Averatec laptop that has Windows XP on it. While she is using it, eventually a blue screen appears, which is the precursor to it restarting suddenly. It happens so fast that we cannot read what the blue screen says. After it starts back up, we get a microsoft report saying a serious error has occured. This might not help, but I'll list it just in case. The error signature is:Is this a virus? If so, is there any hope without reformatting? I accidentally uninstalled the program that contained the OS files when I first got the computer.

I have a HPDV8000 laptop and somehow managed to pick up this Antivirus XP 2008 Trojan Horse at some point. Pop ups about viruses etc were coming up so I used lavasoft's adaware and it seemed to remove it. After a cold boot, the desktop constantly restarts itself, followed by 0X0000008E Blue Screen. If I boot in safe mode with or without network connections, it does the same thing. If it sits at windows login. for any length of time the same blue screen stop codes come up.
