I went on vacation, and when I came back, I wasn't able to view myspace songs, myspace videos, and stuff on other websites.I don't know if someone messed with my computer while I was gone. Is there something I can download that would make this work again?
View 8 Repliesi'm having trouble loading things online.web pages, games, videos, etc.Internet.com is the worst.most of the time i cannot even get into the site, and on the rare occasion that i do, most videos won't load.they just stay on a black loading screen for a long time, and never do anything else. web pages don't load most of the time either.i have four different browsers, i have run every scan, updated everything, including the flash player, i have disabled my firewall, pop-up blocker, and virus protection.restored computer to an earlier state, used recovery discs, cleared cookies, history, cache, temporary internet files.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy problem is that in my computer with windows xp I used to always use the thumbnail view in the windows explorer to know which videos where which and also for images. But then my computer got all screwed up and I had to reformat it and install the windows xp again and downloaded all the new service packs and stuff.But now, I go to either the windows explorer or my computer and for images I can see the thumbnails but for videos it only shows either the windows media or realplayer logo but no thumbnail image of the video. It is driving me crazy because I really need to be able to see the thumbnails in order to identity them fast instead of having to open all of them!

I have Spyware Blaster, Pop Up blocker and a firewall.I have gone to each of these and checked anything that would prevent being able to view images.I get a blank bacground with a tiny square with a red x in it. I am running IE 6.0, on Windows XP have run spyware doctor, registry mechanic, microsoft antispyware. I have turned off firewall and pop-up blocker. I still cannot view his pictures. This is a website my nephew built. Everyone else he has checked with can view them with no problem.
I have Windows XP Pro. Realtek HD Audio sound card. For some really odd reason all of the sudden I can't hear the guitar playing on some of my songs. I can hear everything else playing but the guitar is drowned out and sounds very very low compared to the other songs and I really don't know what the problem could be. I have tried different drivers for my sound card all with the same results. Anyone know the problem or a possible solution?

I cant seem to do much without it either refreshing or restarting explorer.exe My HJT scans show nothing abnormal and i have scanned for Spyware, Virus's and may others but everything is clean, I have tried chkdsk but still the same.

But now since I re-installed Windows XP, my dvd and cd drives don't show up in Windows. In BIOS they are recognized as ch.0 master and ch.0 slave drives. But in Windows they're not there in My Computer or Device Manager. I pop in a disc and it spins around but nothing happens.

I am currently running Windows XP, Windows Media Player 10 and I just recently got rid of IE and installed Firefox. When I try to play the songs, they are license protected. It redirects me to the microsoft page to download the license and and error pops up reading "Error: Your netscape browser does not have mircosoft windows media services plug-ins installed." I went to the plug-ins section in Firefox and it is not there. I tried downloading a couple of different plug-ins from microsoft and none of them made a difference. How do I get this plug-in?

This isn't a problem with the websites as I've tried them on another PC and they come up fine.The info bar at the bottom says that the images are downloading but it's happening really slowly and even when it finishes there's still nothing.Before that happens it also says "error on page" then "done but with errors on page".

One as the host, and one as the guest. however. while I can directly connect the two, niether of the computers show in terms of shared files or even workgroup computers. View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a gateway laptop. about 6 months ago i was listening to music through my itunes and the songs starting skipping and the comp froze. I tried to do ctrl alt delte and couldnt so i had to shutdown by just holding the power button. The computer was also really hot when this happened. Since then I have not been able to get the computer to work. It will start about and give me the option of how i would like to start (in safe mode or regular) and no matter which option i pick it will go to the loading screen for windows xp and just sit there with the progress bar going for hours or until the comptuer dies. It never gets past this point or gives me any kind of errors.

(It was before the format).I have typed in "Export Pictures from CD to My Pictures folder" without the quotes and I get a list of links pertaining to CD recording errors and other things like that. I did right click on a picture in Drive E (my CD-RW) just to see what would come up and I noticed that on the Send To menu that these pictures can be sent to the desktop.

I need to put them in a sequence so I right clicked each picture and re-named it as follows: 001jpg, 002jpg and so on for 100 pictures. In view, I selected arrange icons by modified and all the pictures moved to the sequence I wanted. All is well and good until I copied the folder to a CD. All the pictures reverted to their original sequence instead of the sequence I put them in.
How can I copy the folder with the pictures in the sequence I put them in? Whenever I open the picture file to look at that folder, they are always in the sequnce I put them in
I run all of my anti-spyware/malware programs, disc defrag, chkdsk every week. I then create a restore point.Today, for the first time ever, I needed to restore my computer to a previous date because my XP view changed to Classic view and the option to change it back to XP view wasn't available. But the restore points that I saved were not available. I was given a choice of July 1,2,3,4 and 5. The last time I created a restore point was last Monday, June 27th,but when I clicked on the << arrow to go back to the month of June, it wouldn't go back.What happened to the restore points that I created and why couldn't I access them?I know that they were saved because I received a message that they were created.And I have no idea why my XP view changed to Classic View when I turned my computer on yesterday.
View 31 Replies View RelatedA folder full of PSD files. I have the folder on thumbnail view so I can easily find a look I wan't and choose it instead of opening up each one. The problem is that the folder is not generating a preview of the file anymore but instead shows the PSD icon. I just got a new computer and it is since then that this has stared, as on my old computer the previews showed up fine. Is this a setting I need to change somewhere?

I have come across this one machine, belonging to an older lady, who's grand kids have some how managed to lock her out of her CD/DVD and Floppy drives. This is happening in Windows XP Home. The only account that is active is the lady's own administrator account. The drives are visible in My Computer and Device Manager, but have big red no access symbols on them. I have looked everywhere i can think of to solve this, but have come up short.
