Annoyance With Sign In With Microsoft Passport Network Popup
Aug 1, 2006
When I go into Documents and Settings folder, I always get this "popup" window named "Sign in with Microsoft Passport Network" and I don't feel safe even though it probably really is from Microsoft. More so, it's just plain annoying as hell when I'm trying to navigate through Documents and Settings. On another forums board, someone suggested I create a new key in my registry which appeared to be a new key to suppress the "popup". I didn't feel safe doing that even though I've worked in my registry before, because this person who suggested this, didn't have any credentials, just a mere 4 prior posts to that forum, hence I don't feel safe trying that. Can you please tell me how to keep this window from popping up everytime I go into Documents and Settings?
Is there a way to login to a MS Passport site without having to reenter your password every time? Whenever I click 'sign in' I click the option to remember my name and password, but to no avail. The next time I go to sign in it once again it asks for my password. I thought you should just be able to click 'sign in' and you would sign in without have to type a thing.
This message keeps popping up every so often.. is it legitimate? or is it just a part of a pop-up ad/adware/etc.? My latest reformat of XP Home SP2 and loading of all my programs (Word was installed through MS Works 6.0) and all latest updates has somehow caused the clock to now show the day of the week in the taskbar, under the clock. Have tried reducing size of the Task Bar -- have checked customize under TaskBar settings, but it doesn't include anything obviously jumping out at me and saying "day of week".
I have recently upgraded to the latest version of MSN Messenger and started experiencing some ill effects from the upgrade. My user account on my computer will no longer store my passport information (for me or any other account on my machine). I have checked all of the settings in MSNM to make sure that nothing is set there, and there isn't. I have also gone through the wizard to setup the accounts for a .net pasport, and still doesn't seem to be working.

I have a Western Digital Passport 320GB External Harddrive that is no longer recognized by the computer. It worked two days ago... now nothing. I get a pop up when I plug it in that states: USB Device Not Recognized.I checked Device Manager: Universal Serial Bus Controllers-Unknown Device. It's not a drive letter issue. Windows XP SP3 does not recognize it all.
She reset her passport password on her hotmail account. Of course she didn't write down the password. She attempted to access the account with her attempts of different passwords. Now she is locked out of passport, and hotmail and messenger because of her
At around 2005-08-06-13.30, after installing an MS Game & trying to register it with my Passport/Hotmail login I got repeated rejection on my account. The login software was giving me an old account name @hotmail.com that I closed a few years ago and would not accept the one that has been active since. I discontinued the current account which it surprisingly allowed me to do. It would not allow me to discontinue old account name @hotmail.com even though it kept replacing current account name with old whenever I entered password.
I recently had user accounts for the computer for each family member to use.I have now removed all user accounts so every family member uses the same one (when i turn the computer on it just goes straight to the desktop).I have a problem with MSN Messenger. It always signs my email address in automatically when someone connects to the Internet and i want it so you have to sign in.I need to know how to remove it so it doesnt automatically sign my email address into MSN Messenger.
My WD Passport doesn't display anything I have stored on it. It still says that there are things stored on the external drive, but when I click on the icon, nothing shows up.I have another WD that is working just fine. Also, the icon for the drive changed from the blue "WD" back to the default.
I'm running XP-Pro, ACT 2006 and Goldmine 6.0 databases. Whenever I need to sign on with my user name first and last name then enter a password to access secure websites the last name of my user name changes to a series of letters with no meaning and then I am denied access to the sight. This also happens when I want to enter my "Signature" at the end of an email
I have Windows XP Proffesional and when I go to the username screen, beside my user name it sais,"1 unread mail message." I checked my mail and I can't get that message to go away.
A simple, silly question but where is sign in on these pages? I can't find it and to be identified as the upright character I am I need to go to 'sign out' before I am recognised. What am I not seeing?
My WD passport drive just stop working with 400GB data in it. But the inbuilt virtual CD drive is still working. and for the Storage drive, its showing capacity of zero bytes.
I was trying to sign into the domain on one of my workstations when I got an error message. I solved that problem before by removing the computer from server, joining a workgroup, then rejoining the domain. Only problem is that this time, when I joined a workgroup, I forgot the password to sign on locally, and Last Known Good Configuration won't help in this case. Is there anyway to sign on to the local machine? Even if I'd have to create another account, that's fine. Or is there a way to get the computer to give me the option to log on to a domain? Maybe I should have named this thread "Cannot Log On To XP"
I have to sign in each time, several times a day, even though the "sign on auto" is checked. I never log off. No help from hotmail just the obvious, do the above. Would appreciate a solution. Use XP Pro.

I was trying to register with Windows Messenger (Windows Live ID). One of the entries is my e-mail address. I entered it properly, but when I finished with the page, it returned with this message:
"The portion of your e-mail address that follows the @ symbol is part of a "reserved domain" such as live.com, hotmail.com, msn.com or passport.com. Please type a different e-mail address" I know I entered my address correctly (tried it several times). Any thoughts?
