Well just recently. I was sitting there letting aim run. I went to use the bathroom and my pc was off. I was like huh. So I left it off that night I didn't need to get on. Well when I did turn it on, it brought up this error/alert.Alert! Your computer has shutdown due to a thermal error.Press F1 to continue or F2 for system setup.
About 2 days ago, my computer started randomly turning off and on. I would enter my password and it would load windows and run fine. As of yesterday it shut itself down and after I entered my password, it would give me that message. I would choose "Run Windows normally" and it would go to the screen with the Windows logo with the loading bar underneath of it. The loading bar doesn't have the scrolling green light though, and it just sits there.
This is the alert: (more or less)Exception...Component Manager::Create Instance returned failure code:" nsresult 0x805700015 (NS_ERROR_XPC_CI_RETURNED FAILURE)" location: jsframe::chrome://searchshield/content/overlay.js::InitSDK::line352" data:no The only thing I have done lately is to remove a program I found in my list of programs which was something like Microsoft Visual C++. I rebooted after I removed it.
The CPU fan for my Dell Dimension 2350 desktop computrer stopped working and I got the BIOS error "Alert: CPU fan not detected". So I replaced the CPU fan and the fan works good but now I get this error message when ever I turn my PC on. When I press the power button, I get the Dell logo and I get the Phoenix-Award BIOS screen with the error message "Alert: CPU fan not detected. Press F1 to continue,F2=SETUP,......". When I press F1 the system continues to boot fine and the Pc works fine. My CPU is cooling fine also.

If i purchase the malwarebytes anti malware will that fix the security alert along with the blue screen error? Thank you guys in advance... o .. and i have read the other posts that is why im running the malware.. but if i need to know anything else
Anyone know of a good effective way of removing Intel retail thermal tape from the processor?I'm just going to remove it and replace with Arctic Silver.

hi i'm very untechy, i am getting an rpc server error and cannot figure out how to fix it. it keeps rebooting my system. so it's in a continual state of shutdown and reboot. RPC Server Unavailable, hres: 0x800706BA Register Class Objects Fail when i try to do anything it shuts down before i can complete it.. and i try to type command, but i have to go through ctrl/alt/delete to get to the run function because the taskbar isn't there?
I ran into this problem in both WindowsME and XP. While in multiplayer mode in Return to Castle Wolfenstein, I would get excessive page file activity which would get progressively worse. Map load times would constantly increase as each new map was loaded until the system reported WOLF.exe had caused and error and would shutdown the game. The solution for my system is to set both the Desktop AND game color to 16-bit. Also, set both to the same resolution. I like 1280 x 1024, but that may be too high for some systems. After this tweak, my map load times went from >1 min to between 10 and 20 seconds. Right where a P4 1.5 with 256 megs should be.
i remote into my XP box everything is fine except when i shut down using a shutdown shortcut and other shutdown utilities no matter what after i get booted off the remote session the computer looks like its shutting down then stays on for a few seconds then a BSOD appear. I have been trying to figure out why for the past week and no solution so im hoping someone can chime in..The problem is only on remote if i shut down locally never a single BSOD and no hardware has changed. No driver issues. ive read and tried all the usual solutions. Need someone here to chime in on specifics.Ive also tried to remote in with bare minimum and no go. same thing.
This is weird. I have to go through the shutdown procedure twice, i.e., Start/Shut Down/Shut Down and click Ok, then Start/Shut Down/Shut Down and click Ok again. It will then shutdown properly. The same thing happens when I try to "Restart." After doing the first shutdown sequence, everything is normal. I can open programs, surf the web, etc. It's as if I never tried to shut it down at all. Only after the second shutdown procedure will it shutdown fully. One note: When I go through the first shutdown sequence, my taskbar pops up and the desktop is darkened. After clicking Ok, the taskbar autohides and my desktop returns to its normal color.I have only had this problem for the last month or two. Before that, all was fine. It's not critical since I can shut it down. It's just annoying to have to do it twice.I have Windows 2000 Pro, SP4, build 5.00.2195.
When attempting to "shutdown" or "reboot", I have to do it twice. When I select "Start" then either shutdown or reboot, my desktop will flicker a couple of times, and then nothing appears to happen. I must select "start" again and then either shutdown or reboot and then they will work as expected.
I have just got Red Alert Comand & Conquer on my Windows XP and whenever I try to play Red Alert I get this message; The procedure entry point SMapLS_IP_EBP12 could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll.
I have started to get the attached alert on an occasional basis on my laptop. If I click OK it goes away and does not seem to have any effect. Does anyone know what this means ? I run Win XP/2 home1.2 GB mem 60 GB.
Often, when attempting to download a particular file, I will get the Security Alert message: "Your current security settings do not allow this file to be downloaded." For example, this message appears when attempting to download IE 8 and regardless of the security settings, firewall on or off, etc.
I am using the windows XP OS and each time some alert messages appear there is a sound.I have set my speakers setting to "no sound" mode. Still the sound appears.
I definitley have some sort of virus on my computer and all sorts of pop ups keep coming up on my computer encouraging me to buy a program. I can't get to any other websites besides the one for this program as an alert pops up on the browser sayng my computer is infected. Also everytime I try to open a file a "Windows Security Alert" pops up and says that whatever file I sm trying to open is infected. This is a probloem because I have tried opening task manager, system configuration, and even using the run function wiuth different commands and nothing will open! I also tried downloaging Ad-aware on my external harddrive and then running it from there but it won't open either!
I put memory on my computer (1GB) after I installed it I get this message ALERT! OS INSTALL MODE ENABLED. AMOUNT OF AVAILABLE MEMORY LIMITED TO 256MB STRIKE F1 KEY TO CONTINUE F2 TO RUN THE SET UP UTILITY
My aunt got hit with the W32spybot.worm. Nortons keeps popin up alertin her to it but says it cant remove it. Ive pulled up the removal instrustions online. Problem is she is more or less computer illiterate and since she lives on the other side of the country from me I cant fix it myself. I would like to avoid having to walk her through the removal over the phone since it deals with the registry and random file names, it would make it a pain to find. Are there any programs out that can remove it? Nortons will only do it part way so it re-installs after reboot.
Previous Attempts at booting this system have failed at checkpoint [EMem]. For help resolving this problem, please note this checkpoint and contact Dell Tech Support. Is there a way to resolve this without having to wait forever on the phone with Dells tech support?
I am a new user of xp, I m gatting a message that there are registry errors and i should fix these, it also tells that message is from system to alert. I think it is fake and should i ignore it and how can i stop message alert appear again and again.
For some reason zonealarm gives me the following pop-up every time I boot up my computer : ZoneAlarm Security Alert/Server Program/ Generic Host Process for Win 32 Services is trying to act as a server. Identification: None Application: svchost.exe Source IP: 0.0.0.0:Port 135 I click : "remember this setting" [or I used to] and it does NOT remember - it comes up every time.I've tried rooting around in Zonealarm to figure out how to turn this off - no luck. Any ideas folks????
As I was waiting for Firefox to load, I closed another program, and an alert window appeared saying something like A SOCKET CONNECTION HAS BEEN CLOSED. I've never seen a message like this. What does it mean?
