Have three hdd on the first one I've installed Windows XP, on the second one Window 7 as a dual boot, the third has data & games on recovering from several trojans attack, my PC get the BSOD just before loading Windows XP shows the error 0x0000007B (0xF78D2524, 0xC0000034, 0x00000000, 0x0000000. if I disconnect hdd 2 and 3 by pulling the power leads out, I can boot in Windows XP with no problems.If I reconnect either hdd I've got the BSOD
View 9 RepliesRecently I bought a very cheap Acer Aspire M1640-E1150 which came with an MSI motherboard, an Intel Pentium Dual Core E2200, 2 GB of DDR2 RAM, and a 320 GB HDD from Hitachi. The system came with Vista initially installed on it, and needless to say, it was very slow! I decided to do the right thing and go to XP, so I found all the drivers required and I proceeded to install Pro from a disc that I have from a previous computer. As soon as the screen booted up and the system was being checked by the program, the system gave me an error message, before I even got to partition anything, it was initial. I tried to restart, took one of my RAM sticks out, but nothing was working. I even tried to format the HDD through an external drive, but nothing was working.
The error message is "Stop: 0X0000007B" and something about a virus or a software or a hardware being the problem. The system was running smoothly on Vista, and I even formatted the C drive, and I am sure that there were no viruses.
I'm trying to install Windows XP Home Edition on my computer to replace Windows Vista but have a problem. After booting from the CD Windows setup happily inspects the hardware etc etc but upon the Message 'Windows is starting up' I am confronted by a BSOD and Error message 0x0000007b. Windows Vista currently runs fine and reports no problems with any hardware. I tried booting up a Linux distro and it did this quite hapily. Any workarounds for this situation? Is there a BIOS option i should be looking at changing or is my hardware too new for Win XP

I believe it's related to the SATA drive, but haven't figured a way around it, and time is money.
Whenever I attempt to reinstall Windows I receive a stop error warning about a possible virus to instructing me to remove any newly installed hard drives
and/ or controllers. I elliminated hard drives disk by disk but was met with the same results. I then elliminated all HDs and my SCSI controller, booting from my XP CDROM.
I recently upgraded to multiprocessor and new motherboard, now I am getting this stop error message and my hard drive will not enter into windows.

None of the modes work, last known, safe etc.I have read a lot of the posts about restoring that system and am not so concerned about getting the laptop up and running but just recovering the data from that drive - pictures from the laptop.Is this strategy below an option? 1. View 2 Replies View RelatedI have 4 or 5 year old Win XP Home Tiny desktop computer which is having trouble booting. Basically when booting up, right before the Win XP logo it reboots itself.I have disconnected all IDE devices except for the master hard drive (plus disabled them in BIOS), I have tried a different hard drive in the machine that I know is working and has XP Pro installed. The same thing happens with this hard drive - reboots. This hard drive also has Ubuntu installed, and the machine happily boots Ubuntu to the normak desktop, but for some reason won't boot XP!Also tried a third hard drive in this machine that is working with Win 2000 installed, again the same thing happens.
Next I tried the original hard drive in a working seperate machine which produces the same result again.Also tried removing the RAM from the original machine and inserting a stick of working RAM from my other machine which again makes no difference.All hard drives I've tried have the correct jumper setting (primary master).
Also tried putting the Win XP disc in the drive and booting to that, I get to the menu and try to do a repair (R), but a few seconds after the repair begins the system reboots (this is using the original hard drive).Also tried booting into safe mode, and last known good config on all drivers.The hard drive is being detected in POST and in the BIOS which I have set as the first (and only) boot device.When I turn off the auto reboot upon fatal error, I can see the blue screen of death with error code 'Stop 0x0000007B'.So looks like the hard drive might be knackered, but there must be something else aswell because my two other working hard drives don't boot XP (only ubuntu)
I have a Acer Aspire AM5640-E5520A Intel Pentium 2 QUAD, 2.4GHz with a MCP73PV motherboard and SATA drive. When I try to install XP (which I like better than Vista) the set up acts ok ,loading files, until it gets to "setup is starting windows".. Then I get the BSOD and a message saying STOP:0x0000007b. I have tried to change the bios setting for the HD to IDE but I do not find anything about storage or AHCI. All i see is a place to change raid configuration. Raid is disabled. But i have tried it with raid being enabled.

I had an ELECTRIC POWER FAILURE during the start of Windows 2000 Professional this morning. After it, when I try to restart my computer, it begins to load Windows, but I receive the famous blue screen. The error code is:

I tried with F8 (last valid configuration, etc of the list), but all give the same blue screen. My repair floppy disk is from september 2007. After it, I installed a second HD for files backup and needed to put drivers for Windows recognize the bigger HD size. All worked fine until the power failure this morning. Antivirus and scan are up to date. Since I installed the driver for the bigger size HD, I cannot more boot through the floppy disk, because it not recognizes the HD. Is there anything I can do to not reinstall Windows?
Major virus infection on computer resulted in fdisk and reformat. I used Win 98SE to fdisk and reformat, as I couldn't for the life of me find a format on the Dell Operating reinstallation CD. (could be first mistake)
Used Win 98 SE startup diskette to start system w/CD rom support.
Navigated to D: Drive which containe the XP OS reinstallation. Navigated to I386 folder and typed WINNT to begin reinstalling files.
Start WIn XP setup and began copying files to HD.
Screen shows: The MS-DOS based portion of setup is complete. Setup will now restart you computer. After your computer restarts, WIN XP Setup will continue. Remove floppy, etc.

I have looked on MS site for the error code and think I understand that the problem is either a hd controller device driver is not installing from the Dell Reinstallation CD and therefore stops the installation of the software. How I can possibly extract and install the driver setup may be looking for.
I am running Win XP-SP2. I wiped my hard drive due to irresolvable software conflicts. I reinstalled XP-SP2, Office, Norton, the printer and scanner and my digital camera software package. All were updated and working perfectly until Sunday. I booted up the machine only to get a warning that says One of your disks may have errors let the computer reboot itself (which it will do repeatedly, stuck in a reboot loop) or you can hit any key to ignore this warning. You have only ten seconds to read all this and make a decision.
Once the computer boots up, everything seems to work as normal except for system restore. I tried to restore to the day after I reformatted and installed everything and all I get is an error saying Cannot restore to that point, please choose another point to restore tooor something to that effect.
a message keeps popping up saying the following: Cannot load dialog. Error 623: The system could not find the phone book entry for this connection. All I can do is click the close button and it goes away and nothing else seems to happen, but it pops up again in a few minutes.

View 1 Replies View Relatedi had was my motherboard cpu fan not working in its cpu fan pin, so instead i have it hooked up to a case fan pin. I am not sure if this means i have a faulty mobo or not.
I installed my brand new Creative sound card, I installed its software and drivers all fine and the PC restarted fine. Next creative wanted to update the drivers and I let it. After it was done installling the new drivers it needed a restart. On restart I could not even get to the post screen and was displayed with an error saying USB over current, PC shutdown in 20 seconds. At first i could not get past this error at all, so i tried taking out the sound card and putting inserting it again. I did not get the USB error now and was happy.
I played Battlefield 2142 for a few hours then shut it down. Now today when i get home from work and turn it on i saw that USB over current error again and got frusterated. After taking the sound card out and putting it back in I had some new problems. I only saw my Asus Splash screen saying "press delete to enter setup" although pressing delete did nothing, it just hung on that screen.

Man, my computer for the last two weeks have been crashing like an emo. I mean, when I play GTA: San Adreas, in 20 minutes, I get a BSOD with a stop error. When I put hardware acceleration to full, in a half an hour, I get a BSOD with a similar error. Believe me, I got three kinds of errors, and some were from different time. I believe the problem either came from the either the PSU, new 512 mb of ram, old 512, CPU, system board, or the graphic card. I'll try to post the error as best as I can. I can't get anywhere into Windows, I've done F2, F8, F12, everything I could think of without risking more damage. I've booted from the system mechanic CD with the Hard Drive recovery, and while it said it found and fixed a problem, it didn't fix this one.
When I'm trying to start up Windows XP Home Edition I receive an error box without an error message, I can just click YES or NO. Neither option let's me continue. When starting up in Safe Mode, everything works fine.

When I connect to The Internet, any program that I open freezes for like 10 minutes, after which it unfreezes. During this time I normally restart my computer, with no success. If I open Windows Live Messenger and Internet Explorer 7 together it freezes normally. Pinball, WordPad, Sound Recorder, and Volume Control cannot be restored. Also, I tried using my Toshiba Recovery DVD, with no success. It says Loading RAMDISK Image, then it reboots and loads the exact same system with no changes made.

Then shortly after the laptop would show a blue screen, displaying "KERNEL STACK INPAGE ERROR" and then reboot. After the reboot, my laptop seemed to run fine, I downloaded AVG antivirus software to check if there was a boot sector virus (?) and after running the laptop for about 30 minutes, it showed the blue screen again and reboots. Then I tried to reformat the laptop. The first time I tried to format it as FAT32, it got to about 60% before rebooting. The second time I managed to get past the formatting (FAT32 [quick])and I got onto the part of installing windows. About 20 minutes into the installation.
