I have a game that was written into 2 DVDs and when i want to install this game and insert DVD1 and begin the installation , after for example 10 min it says you should insert DVD 2 for resuming the installation.
I have an 8gig install file of a game(with iso format) so how can i write this into 2 DVDs that will install like my above example.
Having trouble installing PowerISO 6.0 64 bit. During installment i receive a error saying..

How I can install this?
I was attempting to copy some files to my DVD. I selected them and chose "Send to" and selected my DVD drive. I now got a window saying, "Files ready to be written to the DVD".
(1) How do I get it to write the files.
(2) If I wanted to cancel the operation how do I do that?
Every time I put a blank DVD in the drive it comes up with that same message and I can't seem to be able to get rid of it.
I setup a parity storage pool with 2x500GB drives and x1 1TB drive then started transferring data, i noticed that they were getting full so added a 4TB drive and carried on transferring data however the x500GB drives are full and it will not let me transfer anymore data(currently about 2TB) the 4TB drive only says 18% full. Is there a configuration or command to move the data around the disks so they are all the same percentage eg 60% full? I have since tried moving data off the pool then transferring it back but I'm not sure its making any difference to the way the data is stored.
I have x1-500gb x2-1tb x3-2TB and x2-4TB drives with about 12TB of data i would like to store. Am i better off having multiple Pools with matching drives ?
I am trying to write a DVD over RDP but my writer is not recognised. After searching the internet, I found out that Windows disallows this as a security precaution. I did find a fix for Windows 7, which is to go into GPedit.msc and change the setting for 'All Removable Storage: Allow direct access in remote sessions' to enabled. However, this setting is not there in Windows 8. Has it been removed for Windows 8 and if so is there another fix.

"CANNOT PLAY DVD : The DVD may be in use by another application. If all other applications are closed, the video resolution may need to be lowered or the display connection type may not support playback of the DVD."
I know the issue is not with my physical DVD drive because of the following reasons: I am presently dual-booting XP Pro SP3 and Windows 8 Pro with Media Center. The former can play DVDs just fine. VLC Player on Windows 8 can also play DVDs just fine.
I'm curious if there's any way to get this to work on Windows Media Center on Windows 8, then, because I paid for the upgrade from Pro to Pro with Media Center, after all.
Lenovo Y580 with a blu-ray reader/dvd burner. Running Windows 8.1. Read DVD's fine just doesn't want to burn them. I can't add data to a dvd, backup a movie, format a dvd. When trying to format a dvd I get the error, after the drive runs for awhile, "Cannot complete format".

I'm not using Windows Media Player, I know that can't play DVDs in Windows 8. I'm using PowerDVD, it came for free with my laptop. When I play my DVD it stops responding. I tried using VLC too, but it seems as if it's stuck at loading for 1 hour. I don't think it's a codec problem because both of these are supposed to come with the codecs. The software isn't corrupted since they can run other DVDs. I have updated my drivers. My DVDs work in Windows 7, so what is my problem?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI created DVD and USB backups to my new Windows 8 Inspiron laptop; I needed to recover the next day, and the Hard Disk recovery partition and the USB were reported as corrupt! On a brand new system with a brand new USB stick!
On attempting to recover with the DVDs, after using the first one the Dell recovery program said 100% complete, so didn't even read the next 2. The recovery showed a "restart" button, and of course nothing happened!
How do I get recovery media for Windows 8?
The attrib +s +h command that is used to make a file a system and hidden file is no longer working. When i try to use the command on a folder, the folder just shows up as a normal hidden folder which can be easily viewed using show hidden items in view option. It looks as if every system file is not recognizing itself as a system file.
Also every folder in my system has appeared a desktop.ini and thumbs.db folder.
I am running Windows 8- 64 bit
How to make the 'Libraries' folder structure appear when doing a file open file save. In both case I can see the folders labeled Desktop, Documents, Downloads, etc. but I cannot see the Libraries folder.
Is this possible? How?
I don't know how I did it but I got both Windows 7 File Recovery and Windows 8 File History active at the same time. I upgraded from Win 7 to 8 Pro and transferred settings so win 7 file recovery was already active, when I tried to turn on win 8 file recovery I got a message saying I cant because win 7 FR was active. So I deactivated win 7 FR then activated win 8 FR, for giggles I went back and turned on win 7 FR and it worked. Now I have both active, from what I have read this was not possible. Did I break my OS or am I just lucky?
View 3 Replies View RelatedIn Windows 8.0 File History, it had the nasty habit of duplicating your library files on your backup ( in my case, my external USB backup drive ( Replica 2 Terabyte ). By DUPLICATING, I mean they get copied over and over and over again... This happens to ALL of them, even though you have not touched the majority of them for YEARS. (File History is suppose to copy them over the FIRST time, then copy a new copy with a new name (old name plus date) if you edit the file in any way). I turned of file indexing on ALL my drives, except my C: drive, to see if that would stop it ( this is recommended in many threads on other sites ).

If I right click on the folder and go to send to all I get is the dvd drive unless I shift right click first then a drop down of more selections appear but not send to compress. The SFX files unzips the contents to a folder on my hard disk (no problem), but then tries to run another program (installer.exe) that is located in the extracted folder.
The program fromm inside the SFX runs fine if I set the compatibility to XP manually, but the problem is that the the SFX extracts the files to a different location each time it is run.
Is there a global way to make a program (installer.exe) run in compatibility mode wherever it exists?

Turned the PC on this morning and all my files (audio , picture and video) now have the file type at the end of the file name so instead of cars42 it reads cars42.mpg same for all other file types, Why?

I have not changed any file specs, it just appeared today. I have many thousand files and need them to be short for work, i don't want the added .mpg,.jpg, .mp3 etc added. Do i just system restore? I used my BD to load an ISO file and it mounted a CD Drive (F to accomplish that. I know to unmount the drive you need to right click and 'Eject' it. However, my 'Eject' option is greyed out and not available. Until I unmount that drive, I am not able to use my physical Blue Ray Drive. how to accomplish this?

View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I download software onto my Windows 8, often there is an .msi file to install the application. When I double-click on the .msi file, I get an error "Error while Opening File". This occurs on various software packages, so is just not a bad download.
When I click "OK" to this error message, I get a big green button on the screen, with "Download" in big letters, and "ilivid" in smaller characters.
I did mistakingly download the ilivid app onto my PC (once again a big green button on a download site that I thought was the download link to the file I wanted, however I uninstalled it once I read some articles online about it, also ran Malwarebytes to check for malware.
Do I need to re-associate the .msi files with the Windows Installer?
