View 9 RepliesI upgraded my laptop software to win8.1. My webcam in the device manager looks to the integrated camera but webcam is not working. I tested by Dell PC Diagnostics shows my webcam is installed and its picture from camera showed but windows camera app and all app don't show anything.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI got a problem in Windows 8.1 which doesn't detect the integrated webcam. It worked fine the last week but today it just wont start. My laptop is a DELL Inspiron 14R 5437.
I already reinstalled the Chipset with no luck. Also, opened Device Manager but there was no "imaging devices" label. Did an unistall of USB Root Hub, then restarted, but nothing. Checked BIOS but dont know where to really enable/disable.
Build-in app Camera in windows 8.1 shows "to get started connect a camera". Skype displays "Skype couldn't find a webcam. With a webcam, you can make video calls..."
I have an Inspiron 17R SE 7720 and yesterday evening I updated from windows 8 to windows 8.1. This went good. Only this morning I noticed my webcam don't work anymore. Before the update it worked fine. I use it daily to talk with my girl.
The only applicatie we use it for is facebook. When I use Dell Systeem Detect, and I let it check my webcam, it shows and it gives images. So I think it is not a problem of the hardware.
I also tried to download Dell Webcam Manager 2.0 but that says I dont have a special card in my laptop. Also when typed in my service tag in de website, I didn't get any new drivers / programs for the webcam.
This Emachines E525 Laptop has a built in Camera and i wanted to use it to Recode video and save it onto my hard drive
i am trying to recode a video using my laptop camera so i will save the video in my hard drive
so first issue the driver wont work after installing the camera driver the application start and close
no error
I tried manycams and other 3 software like easywebcam and so on and non of the would see webcam installed
I am not trying to chat or skye or anything i would love to have webcam working so i can recode the video and save it in my hard drive. what i need:
1- to get webcam working
2- Find a software that is able to recode a video and save it into the hard drive
I have a Dell E5530 using windows 8.1 Been using laptop for 5+ months. For the first time today, I clicked the Camera panel and received msg
"Connect a Camera".
Ran Dell PC diagnostics, no errors were found. I do not have a Imaging Device folder (that stores the Webcam) in Device Manager. Installed Dell Webcam Central, but when launched, I get msg "Please plug in a supported device" I am not able to run this application either.
Do I need to load any Webcam drivers for win 8?
Had drive problems with PC so got new SSD drives and a Hybrid drive. All new drives so did tortuous route install win7 - upgrade to win 8.0 all worked then started acting up. My tech support worked on it for 2 days and gave up said I should backup and do a clean install from start. So I did.
Not yet put any backup files on so only operating system and devices (printer, wireless keyboard/mouse, wireless headset and 3webcams ( One Pluscom and two PCline ) checked device manager and found cameras with yellow exclamation mark and checked properties and saw this webcam.JPG . Download, install and do a reboot and see what happens.

I recently upgraded my new XPS 13 (L321X) to windows 8. Webcam central stopped working, It is getting detected in device manager. I tried installing the drivers again from dell site without any result. Whenever I open webcam it says close the other streaming video application to start video though I don't see any other video application going on in my system.

I have A Dell Inspiron 15 3521 And I Updated To Windows 8.1,And My Camera App Is Not Working! It Just Shows That Camera Not Detected!
And The Bluetooth Is Also Not Working From Since The 8.1 Update!
I have dell inspiron laptop and 32 bit windows-8. My laptop has inbuilt webcam and it was working fine. But i installed a new external webcam. And both the webcams stopped working. I tried installing driver software from the driver-DVD of my laptop but it also didnt fix it.
The webcam cannot be used by other softwares like skype.
HP's support site for the specific model M6-1035 lists no driver for the webcam. it was there under windows 7 but I don't recall ever deliberately installing a driver for it - I assumed win7 had it.
Windows 8.1 does not. nothing in 'devices', nothing under device manager, and no driver listed on the HP support site. the latter is not surprising since they don't provide a host of drivers for the laptop.
No keyboard-specific drivers [like for the function keys etc], wrong firmware for optical, and other small things.
Any generic cam driver that will function?
before purchasing I wanted to confirm if Logitech C110 webcam is compatible with Windows 8. I could not ensure the compatibility from Logitech website.

Windows update has been really messing with my pc lately. I ran update and when it installed the updates my integrated mouse ended up not working. I rolled back update and installed the updates one by one and the one I ended up not installing was the camera codec pack. Now the problem I am having is that my touchscreen won't work. If I talk to HP support they do the most basic thing they can and then when they can't fix it they tell me that I have to ship it to them because hardware is broken.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been stuck without windows tiles for quite some time now. I've attempted many of the various tips and tricks out there to get this problem fixed. The one I can't try is the system refresh because the windows tiles don't work which mean I can't open PC Settings to get that started.
Is there a way I can do this without having to open PC Settings which wont actually open.
i have windows 8 installed and would love to upgrade to windows 8.1 but because the tiles dont work i cant open the windows store. Just like most people out there the other tiles work like chrome etc just not the standard windows 8 ones. no i dont have any additional antivirus or firewalls turned on. Yes I've tried to reset the tile service, yes I've tried the app diagnostic tool. Nothing is working.
On my v131, I newly installed windows 8, then I can't find the quickset for win8, so I installed quickset for win7. It partially works, because when I press the "wrench" button, it will trigger dell support center, but when I press the "gears" button, it won't trigger the quickset.exe but as the action as "winkey+x".
how to make it work again?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have already created two Recovery Disc for my Dell 15R 5537 with OS Windows 8.1. Yesterday, i tried to create a partition and mess up the whole laptop. I tried to use the two Recovery Disc to bring the laptop back to its original factory OS. I booted with Disc 1 and works fine; when Disc 1 finished, it ejected, and I put the Disc 2 in. Then it no longer continue. It stuck at:
Progress: 53% completed

OK - Backing up Dell Backup and Recovery settings...
Then, the "Preparing your hard driver..." just keep turning and won't go any further for several hours.
How to have my Windows 8.1 recovered?
I created DVD and USB backups to my new Windows 8 Inspiron laptop; I needed to recover the next day, and the Hard Disk recovery partition and the USB were reported as corrupt! On a brand new system with a brand new USB stick!
On attempting to recover with the DVDs, after using the first one the Dell recovery program said 100% complete, so didn't even read the next 2. The recovery showed a "restart" button, and of course nothing happened!
How do I get recovery media for Windows 8?

I'm wondering if there are any settings adjustments i can do to make the graphics card run faster. I mean i have 16gb of ram, shouldnt that be a lot of shared ram for the graphics card?
I've downloaded a legal iso from MAPS, i ve slisptremed all latest updates into it with Windows download integrator (it uses dism afaik) , then the problems comes in - i cannot use USB as my install.wim is 4,8 GB. View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an Inspiron 7520 and uninstalled and reinstalled the new version of Dell Backup and Recovery Manager -- upgraded to premium to make sure that I would have full ability to use the program. Note: the old version didn't work at all -- hung up on backup, etc. I have rebooted.
When I try and open the Manager interface, I can't. All I get is the clock logo with the hand spinning. I cannot set the destination. I cannot select what I want to back up. I've tried this several times and just get the spinning clock which I end up ending through Task Manager.
I have tried opening the Manager from the installed link on desktop, from my list of programs, from the Start menu, and from the tray icon. Nothing works.
