i has install my printer (HP Laserjet P1102) and using that with no problem. But, Suddenly i want to print my file but there are message say the printer isn't installed on my windows. Now, i want to install my printer but there are message "There are no more endpoint available from the endpoint mapper".
I have installed windows 8 consumer preview.I have also installed my printer drivers and they installed correctly, but problem is that my printer can't print anything(test page also). My printer is HP Laser-jet 1020.
Laptop: HP 15 n028US. Just purchased and all Windows updates installed.
I installed the recommended full driver from the HP website and it doesn't work. The printer does appear on the list of printers, but it doesn't work. I followed the recommendation to only plug in the USB cable when prompted and it appeared that the installation was successful. I tried a recommendation found in another forum to install the Windows 7 driver. That didn't work either.
I've tried several installs, gone to Lexmarks's site, searched the web, and I can't get a Lexmark z730 inkjet driver, or a work around that might work.
Do I resign myself to the inconvenience of using my XP laptop for the occasional print job, or can something be done?
Trying to install a Canon MF5750 Printer on windows 8.1. Canon has a driver for this printer and windows 8.1 64. My primary problem is that when I get to the point of selecting a port, I am unsure of what to do. My choices are LPT 1-4, COM 1-4, FILE, and PORTPROMPT, none of which would seem to represent a usb port. By crawling through the Device Manager listings, I should have plenty of usb 2 and 3 ports. So my question is what happened to my usb ports. An additional observation is that while the printer and fax functions are installed (though not working) the scan function is not installed.
So somehow my main default printer got moved to the 'More' selection in CTRL+P of Windows 8 Reader. On the right hand side all I have is my PrinterShare (remote printer). I have to click 'More' then I see my Fax and my OfficeJet pop up. How to I move my officejet to the front line like it used to be?
Epson WF 2540 keeps going offline every time my Dell XPS 13 running Windows 8 goes to sleep. Am looking to see what I need to change in the software to keep this from happening. It will go back online after sometime or I have to go and turn it off to get it back online.
I installed an HP Office Jet J4580 in Windows 8.1. It works fine.
However when I go to 'Devices and Printers' and right click on that printer (it is the only printer I installed), it shows a drop down box with three Office Jet J4500 Series. I can select any one of them and they all work, for instance when I print a test page.
Screenshot of the dropdown list: View image: Printer properties
It bugs me that there are 3 listings of that one printer.
I have been having an issue in Photoshop selecting a printer. I have already gone to Printers and Devices and set my laser printer as the default printer. However, every once in a while, the default goes away in favor of the One Note 2010 printer. I would like to delete the Fax, One Note 2010, and Microsoft XPS Document Writer printers hoping that Photoshop will realize which is my default printer.
I have Acrobat Pro to make Pdf's. I am running Windows 8 Home.
When I turn my HP LaserJet CP1215 on, on a fresh install of Win 8 Preview the Printer Driver loading icon appears on the taskbar and the green shade goes across as if it's installing correctly. Looking in Control Panel/Printers and devices shows the printer installed and the properties shows the device is working correctly.
However when I try to print in any application no printer is shown, and trying to add a printer runs through the search and finds nothing.
I have several printers at work all hooked up to a samba share so that the whole office can use them. We have Konica Minolta, HP and Lexmarks predominantly but some other brands as well like Kyocera.
I have a fresh Win 8.1 Pro install and i have installed the printer drivers via the Windows update mechanism for all the printers. Some i've added via the samba share some via direct ip connection.
For whatever reason i cannot add/delete or config any of the printer ports as seen in the attached screen cap. I've even tried the windows Administrator account to no avail. UAC is off and i have admin rights to the pc.
I have sought support on freenode's #windows channel and googled the hell out of this topic, to avail.
Last night two updates from MS, KB2919355 & KB2961887 were installed. Today the driver for my Epson R3000 printer was gone. Windows 8/8.1 seems to have a problem with this printer, even though Epson claims it is compatible and provides updated drivers. When I updated from Windows 8 to 8.1, it replaced my Epson drivers is a very basic MS generic driver. I had to manually install the Epson drivers again. That was a pain, and took several attempts. Is there a recommended way to install a driver that works?
All of a sudden my wireless printer has stopped scanning i just get a message saying no scanner detected it is a hp110a model. I have uninstalled and installed it a few times now but still not working it is printing ok.
New printers do not display in Windows 8.1 Devices and Printers (no icon):
New Dell, clean install:
- Reinstalled Dell Factory Image - Updated to Windows 8.1 - Installed Office 2013 - Added BUILT-IN Windows Driver for LaserJet 5P/5MP - Added Epson driver for Windows 8 64 bit from Epson website Neither printer shows in Devices and Printers.
Rebooted. Stopped and started print spooler. Checked registry and all printers, including the new ones, appear to be listed in all the correct registry areas.
Open Notepad, select Print, both printers are listed.
Both printers print. When in Notepad, select Print, I can right click on the printer, select properties, and control the printer, print test pages, change drivers and preferences, etc.
The ONLY PROBLEM is the printers do not show in Devices and Printers, so I cannot control them from there.
I have a HP Deskjet 1515 which I just purchased 4 days ago. When I attempt to print anything from specific programs (more on this) nothing happens. I can see that the print job enters the print queue but it immediately disappears. There is no error given.
The strange thing is that certain programs can print, while others appear unable.

I am using Windows 8.1 x64 (legal copy) and it is fully updated. All of my software is legal and updated.
I can print to other printers, network and local.
Other computers can print to this printer (all are Windows 7 x32).
Printer is set up on USB002 Virtual Printer Port.
I have tried using the drivers that came with my printer as well as downloading the latest drivers from HP's website.
Here are some examples:

The consensus as far as I can see seems that there is a problem with the Windows System Files and that I need to use SFC to repair it.
This is what I tried to do.After running SFC in an elevated command prompt and running "SFC /SCANNOW" I received a message saying that SFC could not fix something. I tried running the command multiple times (and also from boot).
I then proceeded to use Deployment Imaging and Servicing Management (DISM) tool to update the files and correct the problem. This appeared to work because after running DISM I then re-ran SFC /SCANNOW and received no error messages.
Here are some other things that I have tried in addition to the above with no effect:
RestartingDeleting the printer, restarting, re-installing from a different USB port.Punching the sky like no one is watchingChanging the USB cable to one I knew was workingPrayerRun Printer Troubleshooter (but lets face it we knew that would do nothing)Restarting the Print Spooler ServiceRun WindowsUpdate to see if there is any printer related updates (there are no updates at all)Run Antivirus update / scan (looooong shot)
Just updated my window 8 to window 8.1 last few months and getting trouble with my little printer.
Problem: Driver need troubleshooting (unavailable) but i already install? 1)having problem when install the driver from HP support and downloaded the correct driver which is window 8.1 64bit. 2)when i click install, getting to the usb connection part, it said connection fail (usb connection is really fine, i tried it with another window 8 and window 7 laptop..successful, but my window 8.1 can't).
What i have done after i found the driver error?
1) delete the old driver 2) reinstall the driver 3)try to use update driver option from device manager (comes out this error: The system cannot find the file specified)
My laptop tends to install all the printers on the network where I work. I dont use any of those printers and having them installed is pointless and a pain. I can delete them, but it will go and install them all again. Is there anyway I can disable this so it doesn't keep doing it?
I have a Brother HL 2270DW printer in one room of my house. Each of my two Win7 machines, all in different rooms, print to this printer wirelessly with no problems. However, my new Dell One 2020 detects the the printer as a wireless printer but reports something like 'Driver Unavailable' in Settings/Devices. How do I go about making a driver available? I have the latest Brother drivers on my HD but can't seem to figure out how to install them under Win 8. The CD that came with the printer has only very old, out of date drivers.
In previous versions of windows, I was able to customize the printer settings so that it always printed in grayscale, unless specifically changed at the time of the print job. I see how to access the control and can navigate to Customize Your Printer under Printer Management, but the option to change the default printer settings to grayscale or black and white is nowhere to be found?
Windows 8 Release Preview 64 bit found my USB connected Canon Pixma iP5000 printer, but didn't install a driver. WU says there is an update available, but that will not install. Error is WindowsUpdate_80070BC8, which doesn't work much. I haven't been able to find a 64 bit driver on any of the Canon sites, but I have found an XP 64 driver, on another site.
Checking properties for this printer in Devices & Printers throws up the following event: Driver Management concluded the process to install driver prnca00m.inf_amd64_26559657092dd606prnca00m.inf for Device Instance ID
USBPRINTCANONIP50007&8F48641&3&USB005 with the following status: 0xBC8.
This status code is listed as ERROR_CORE_DRIVER_PACKAGE_NOT_FOUND
Attempting to update the driver from the printer properties finds a couple of drivers, but they also fail to find a core driver package. Add printer wizard finds a compatible driver on my machine, but that also fails for the same reason.
This printer is installed OK on my W7 installation on the same machine.
The 64 bit XP driver installed OK on this Windows 8 RP installation, and printed a file OK, but attempting to upgrade results in the same error. After installing this XP driver, WU reported that the update installed, but Update History shows 'Failed'. Now WU isn't offering the update.
New to windows 8. I'm connecting my wireless HP printer office jet 4500. I was in the process of downloading and installing the software and was stopped by this message. " Another installation is already in progress. Complete that installation before completing this install." Earlier I tried to install the software for an Iomega external hard drive that had crashed. It wouldn't work so I think I took the cd out without ejecting it. To the best of my knowledge there is no other installation going on. Where would I find out if a program is being installed so I can stop it?
I have a Canon printer-fax and several other printers installed. Listing printers shows the Canon as one printer, both the fax and printer and when I click on it, I have a choice of either the printer or fax. I chose the printer as my default printer. That works for a while, and then the default printer reverts to the last one on my list, in my case Quicken PDF. There does not seem to be any event causing this to change.
How can I keep my selected printer as the default?
I was able to print to my network-attached Brother 2070N and 3045CN laser printers until recently. Driver have been loaded, printers are discovered and added to the client, but every time I try to print I receive the message "Printer not ready". All of the Windows 7 clients can print to these 2 printers, it's just my 64bit Windows 8.1 Enterprise computer that cannot. If I can't get this resolved soon, I'll have to go back to Win7.
I'm facing a problem about my printer under Windows 8.1. I cannot create custom paper size.
My previous printer is a HP P2035 printer. According to HP, the driver is built into Windows 8.1 and thus does not offer any driver for Windows 8.1. The printer is detected correctly and I'm able to print, except I cannot create a custom paper size.
I raised this issue on the HP forum and a couple of members explained that the printer is pretty old and thus there is no incentive for Microsoft nor HP to develop a driver for Windows 8.1
Then I change to Fuji Xerox DocuPrint p355db. Again this printer is able to print just fine by Windows 8.1 built in driver, except the driver just won't allow me to create a custom paper size!
I am trying to load Lexmark 5470 printer and get "enable bidirectional communication" error message. I am trying to load it on a brand new Toshiba laptop running 8.1 Suggested fix is to go to "ports" tab in the printer dialog box and enable it. I can't find the enable box to click. Any thoughts on resolving this issue. Both Lexmark and Microsoft won't talk to me w/o a credit card. The ptr is 5 years old and is not worthy of any significant investment, although it did work well.
Windows detects my Ricoh AC104 on a wireless network but insists it's an HP 5Si MX and installs that driver. When it adds the printer, it loads the driver automatically and without choice or prompt. Perhaps the misidentification has something to do with the printer driver in between (Hawking HMPS1U). I need to force it to use the printer driver from Ricoh, but I've had no luck so far. Some things I've tried:
1. There's an installation program with the Ricoh driver, but it doesn't see the printer on a wireless network.
2. Going to the advanced options for the printer on the device manager, I can see the driver info but Windows will not permit changes. I tried as Administrator also. No difference.
3. Attempting to update the driver just leads to Windows telling me the (wrong) driver is up to date.
I have a Kodak Scanner and Canon Imageclass printer to which neither functions with my Windows 8 laptop. I tried installing new drivers a couple of months ago with no success. Do I now have to go out and get all new hardware just to be able to print/scan?
