Debugging :: Windows 8 Random BSOD While Exiting / Starting A Game
Jul 22, 2013
I seem to keep having random BSOD'S on windows startup showing a Kernal_Security_Check_Failure and in event viewer it is showing as Bug_Check_Code 313, what is causing this.
I also seem to be randomly getting BSOD'S while either exiting/starting a game or loading up Unity (Game engine).
As stated in the instructions above I have used the SF_Diagnostic_Tool and have attached the contents to this post.

My computer was fine one day then, today when I was just browsing the internet it crashes. The computer restarts and then tells me there was a problem, then when I log in I get nothing but a black screen but my mouse can still move around. sometimes when starting up it takes me to the page and asks what to do. I tried refreshing the pc first and it did nothing. I then started it in safe mode and ran sfc /scannow on command prompt and it told me there were problems but it couldn't solve some of them it gave me something to look up but once again it crashed and restarted before I could read it.
I've had the computer for just over a year and it has always had windows 8.

I've been having the BSOD Issue for a week or two now. It takes forever to boot and then it gives me a blue screen with the Error Driver_Power_State_Failure. I tried going back restore points...that dint work.
I also tried Refreshing and Resetting the PC using those settings on Windows...Still same issues...And also because of this...my system is becoming very slow now as well.

Just today, my desktop's been unable to boot into the login screen on Windows 8.1 due to a blue screen that appears for a split second, and forced the PC to restart. Some of this, I think, should be surely linked to the GPU, as it's left me with a black screen and loud fan noise about three of four times today. Each time I've restarted the PC, it's been able to to get back into Windows, though this time it's just giving me a BSOD that I can barely see at all.
What I'm wanting to know is how can I get it to show me the information for me to diagnose it. Could I use a shortcut on the keyboard, or will the information be saved somewhere?
The GPU I have is the XFX 7950 Core Edition.

So the other day I turned on my computer and started up SWTOR. As the game was loading I got a BSOD, it disappeared too quick for my to see what it was so I started it up and it wanted to check my discs before windows started up so I let it. When windows popped up started up Chrome to see if I could get more info and it was saying it was corrupted. Eventually it crashed on me again so I got out my phone and snapped a shot (imgur: the simple image sharer). Looked up the code and it suggested hard drive failure or corrupted system files.
So I decided to clean install Windows 7 (which I was using at the time) and see if the problem persist. I eventually got the same BSOD during while installing some programs. Then I downloaded the seagate utilities to check my hard drive to see if it it had a problem. First test caused a crash, second test passed, and third and fourth test also caused a crash. Figuring my hard drive was shot picked up a new one today and installed Windows 8.1 to try it out. Everything was going fine during minimal use so I decide to try something a little more and installed SWTOR again. The computer shut off this time with no BSOD while it was nearing the end of the install. Booted it back up, finished the install, and then started it up. Each time while it was loading it would shut off.
What ever the problem was I think is still persisting but is no longer giving a BSOD I think due to the OS change. Im not sure where to go from here to find a solution.
Original BSOD Code: 0x00000f4 (0x0000000000000003 0xfffffa800a1deb30 0xfffffa800a1dee10 0xfffff800035d5d80)

I recently purchased a 2nd hand PC back in June and unfortunately have experienced about a dozen BSODs when playing games.
They seem to occur randomly. There has been times where I have been able to play games for hours without BSOD at all.
I thought it was an issue with my graphics card drivers so I updated them to the latest version (I believe AMD 14.2) but the Blue screens continued to happen. I restored the drivers back to default and that is what I am currently using.

The past few days i've been having a lot of errors, which even made my computer go super slow, which made me reset most of the computer files.
It was solved, up untill I started having errors again yesterday, "KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR"s.
It happens whenever a game I play (or try to, atm) is in it's loading screen. The name of the game is "The Secret World".
Now it also crashes whenever the windows updates start installing on the restart after their download, with the message "C:WINDOWSSystem32LogfilesSrtSrtTrail.txt".

Recently I've experienced random BSOD's in Windows 8. Although my computer know-how is limited at best, I knew it was best to upgraded my pc in steps. The first week I installed a SSD (with a fresh install of Windows 8 on it) and ran without any problems. A week later I installed 16 gigs of (new) ram (with the SSD) and everything ran fine.
The problems started two weeks later. I haven't made any changes to my pc or driver upgrades since then. If I idle in windows everything works fine. The same is true when running Office or browsing the internet. BSOD's occur when:
- Playing games (modern or old), either after 5 minutes or after 3 hours (seems very random but frequent);
- When wathing a HD youtube movie (BSOD's when doing this seem very rare though);

Recently on my gaming PC is have been having a completely random 0x0000001e, I really can't understand where it has came from, or what the root cause could be. It is a fairly new install at no more than a month old. I have not added any new internal hardware or anything like that, so what could be the cause for this random error? I have attached my logs to the main thread.

My PC config is :
1. Intel Pentium Pentium CPU G630 @ 2.70GHz Socket 1155 LGA (0x1)
2. 4GB DDR3 RAM
3. 2TB Seagate HDD
I am facing a strange issues of BSOD since last 10 days. 1st I was on Windows 7 SP1 since more than 3 months and earlier on Windows 8. Suddenly my Windows 7 got corrupted after automatic indexing process by windows, in which process showed some index files corrupted and deleted. After then windows cant start, stuck into bootloop.
I formatted Windows several times but after a few hours the same condition. Then I decided to backup my HDD and Zero Level format of HDD. I did that, which took almost 6 Hrs. After then I decided to go again on Widows 8. hence, formatted and installed Windows 8.1 Update 1.
Now, again after a few minutes or hours BSOD happen again and again with random Two errors :
1. irql_not_less_or_equal (storports.sys) or
2. kernel-data-inpage-error
I am attaching herewith my CPU details alongwith logs by "dm log collector".

I've recently build my own computer with Windows 8, which turned out great at first. But after a day or two i've been experiencing seemingly random BSOD messages, and what triggers them. I've tried reinstalling Windows 8 and updating all drivers and installing all Windows updates, but after a short while the BSODs appear again.
I mainly get the BSOD when booting and they continue until i've tried a number of random troubleshooting options. Most of these options fail (including activating restore points) and the computer reboots with a new BSOD, and the next time into troubleshooting. The last couple of times it seems like Windows 8 will boot if i choose activate troubleshooting as a startup alternative.
At small periods of times i've also had troubles with computer going into a loop where it is turning on for a couple of seconds, then turning off, i did not get boot screen during this. I'm thinking this might be caused by some loose wiring which have been tightened, since i'm not having this trouble right now, but i thought i mention it anyway.
I've attached the BSOD data as instructed, with both tools. This includes only the files after my last install of Windows 8. My first install also experienced the 0x0000003b bug check code, but i don't have any more data than that.

The most recent was a IRQL_not_less_than_or_equal_to, but over time there have been SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTIONS, KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED and a few others.
This is a Toshiba laptop with 32 GB of memory, a toshiba 256GB SSD and two crucial m500 960 GB SSD. I have updated the Crucials to version M05 of the firmware (latest) some time ago and the crashes are continuing.
Crashed appear to happen randomly, I can be just trying away and I get a BSOD or the machine can be idling overnight and when I get up it has restarted. When it crashed it does not always restart (sometimes hangs at 100%).
Have downloaded the Windows Debugger but from my point of view it has been less than useful.

The Last couple weeks after I finshed reinstalling a fresh copy of windows 8.1 after my computer has been shut down for a couple of hours when I turn on I receive most of the time random BSOD ranging from bad memory management, page file in no fault, and so forth. But when I restart after the bsod the computer runs fine. Once in a blue moon it takes maybe 2 restarts to finally boot it correctly. I have rain Driver verifer and I uninstalled ai suite 2 when their drivers kept crashing it.
I had also ran windows mem diag during a cold boot period and it showed no errors. I have also tried returning to stock clocks and still running in to the same issue after a bit of time.
I am currently running:
Windows 8.1pro
i7 3770k over clock to 4.6 on an Asus Sabertooth z77
G.SKILL Sniper Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900) X2

I'm having this BSOD since months ago and I can't find a good solution. Sometimes I can use my computer for over a month with no issues playing everyday for hours.. browsing the web etc. But sometimes like today I get 2 BSOD's on the same day playing for example Final Fantasy XIV ARR.
I tried many things before like Memtest, Cpu test, etc and I can't understand if my Hardware is the problem or some driver. I also have an after market Cpu Cooler so my temps are fine and my case has really good ventilation.
I uploaded this dumps a few days ago after I used Driver Veryfier. I got a C4 BC Code error on those Minidumps and the problem was nroskrnl.exe. Only with Driver Veryfier I'm able to reproduce this BSOD.. is always random when I'm just using my computer.
I uploaded those dumps here [URL] .....
I uploaded my latest dumps on this post using the SF Diagnostics Tool..

Even since I build this new computer last year in September I am plagued by irregular bluescreens, but was able to solve them, as I though, by replacing the RAM after memtest86 deemed 2 sticks faulty (I bought the RAM 2nd-hand, how stupid of me)
So here I was with brand new RAM, happily computing away but still getting some blue screens from time to time, so I re-installed Windows in February to bail out faulty drivers or something and it seems to be fine again, but no, the BSOD kept coming.
So I replaced the PSU since I thought it might be load-related issue and my 500W PSU was getting old anyway,
maybe it wasn't able to deliver the load reliable anymore. Now I have a shiny new 650W RS650GM from CoolerMaster, but to no avail.
I've attached the SF diagnostics tool file collection to this post. The last days, I really got many bluescreens. During gaming, during browsing or just when the PC was idle and should have switched to standby after a while instead of restarting from a BSOD...
The latest BSOD had a bugcheck of 0x124_GenuineIntel_PROCESSOR_CACHE, I googled that and *suspect* my CPU might be the cause of all this. But before I start a RMA with Intel I want to be sure. Maybe I can try to elevate/reduce the issue by underclocking or something?
Everything in my PC runs on stock clocks, no overclocking at all. Running the RAM on JEDEC 1333 MHz @ 1.5V or XMP 1866 MHz @ 1.65V does not change the BSOD rate.

Recently i got my hands on a titanfall beta-key and to play i had to have a 64bit system. I asked my friend to support with the upgrade and everything went fine until my pc started randomly crashing with Memory_management as the most common message. i've had a few others too but mainly this one. I don't understand that my pc keeps crashing because before with my win7 32bit there was never no issue. I tried doing this debug tool thing but it says access denied and the cmd window that opens also says WIN32 so did something go wrong with the installation of win 8 or what?
