Debugging :: Fatal Error - Failed To Locate Memory Table(s) To Make Adjustments
May 9, 2014
I am currently working on a desktop and ended up formatting the HDD it was in RAID, but removed the other and switched connection to SATA...
Wiped everything off of it and loaded Windows onto it,
On EVERY boot I get the same error message
"Fatal Error - failed to locate memory table(s) to make adjustments, press any key to continue"
I press any key and it continues to boot into the windows..
I have done some research on other forums, and end up finding the same issue "reload windows there are some file issues" but that's not my issue, because i CHANGED the RAM 2 times with different ram AND installed windows 4 different times.
I have replaced every piece of hardware on this build and I cant get rid of the memory management bsod. It happens randomly. During games, installations, boot up, basically whenever it feels like it. I tried a different HDD as well. SSD and standard gives the same result.
PC specs are mobo msi z87-g43 cpu i5 4570 radeon r260x 8gb corsair ram 550w psu windows 8.1
I don't know what would be the cause of the problem every time I power-on my notebook Windows 8.1 will pop-up this that there something to be repair" and i check the details and this is it:
Every time i open my notebook for example when i arrive at home,my notebook welcomes me with that error. but after this i can work on notebook , browse, and anything you can do without experiencing any error.
My notebook is: Acer aspire 5742G 4GB ram DDR3 Geforce GT540M (1GB) Intel Core i5 500GB HDD
My computer was fine one day then, today when I was just browsing the internet it crashes. The computer restarts and then tells me there was a problem, then when I log in I get nothing but a black screen but my mouse can still move around. sometimes when starting up it takes me to the page and asks what to do. I tried refreshing the pc first and it did nothing. I then started it in safe mode and ran sfc /scannow on command prompt and it told me there were problems but it couldn't solve some of them it gave me something to look up but once again it crashed and restarted before I could read it.
I've had the computer for just over a year and it has always had windows 8.
I have Windows 8 64 bit installed on a new Hp h8 1360t . On each restart I get this error.
"PKU2u log failed to start with the following error: 0xc0000035".
The results of my searches to resolve this error has been minimal to say the least.I have run sfc/scannow and a chkdsk /r with no positive results. how to correct .
This pops up sometimes on the desktop after I power on
Your PC RAN into a problem: C:WindowsMinidump-40214-46000-01.dmp C:WindowsMEMORY.DMP C:UsersUserAppDataLocalTempWER-104406-0.sysdata.xml
It asked me to send details to windows and I sent. I don't know what's the problem and these are the only other problems I experienced: 1)Slower cold booting 2)It takes a longer time for the lights to off after shutting down. We can only turn the switch off after the lights off
Recent PC activities: 1) Defragmentation for OS(C) and Data(D) 2) Installed and played The Sims 3 (usage is around 9GB) with Mods 3) OS(C) Disk Cleanup deleted items: Downloaded Program files, Temporary Internet files and Temporary files (not sure if I deleted System Error Memory Dump Files & System Error Minidump Files or not)
The computer would just freeze up and not go to blue screen, However, since upgrading to Windows 8.1 it has been giving me a blue screen and error message, what could be wrong. I am positive the errors over the years have all been by the same, as what causes them and what occurs after is always the same.
After booting up, if I decide to play a game, practically any that require 3-d graphics, the game will start to slow down and the audio will start to crackle. Then, the computer will freeze up. When I ran Windows Vista it just stayed frozen, but now during Windows 8.1 it goes to blue screen and shuts off. After rebooting, everything runs perfectible normally and I can run any game perfectly without slowdown or freezing. Then, after shutting down and rebooting another day the same problem will arise.
It's not necessarily the worst error, but I don't quite like leaving my computer in sleep mode as it still drains some power. From what I gathered for Blue Screen View, it seems to be a memory issue. The first error code I received when using Windows 8.1 was PFN list corrupt. That prompted me to test and reseat the ram. Windows Memory Diagnostic came out clean, but the error persists. The latest time I have had this problem, the error was Memory Management, 0x0000001a.
I have updated the BIOS to latest version and have overclocked my RAM, however, the problem existed before O.C.
As of late ( 4-5 days ) I've been having issues, where Windows tells me, that I'm running low on memory, and it closes programs, I never had these problems before, my installataion is 6 days old, clean install, all updates downloaded and installed, programs I installed:
Firefox Steam Skype Origin Teamspeak
My specs:
Code: Operating System Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit
CPU Intel Core i5 3570K @ 3.40GHz 28 C Ivy Bridge 22nm Technology
RAM 8,00GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 668MHz (9-9-9-24)
Motherboard ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. P8Z77-I DELUXE (LGA1155) 27 C
Recently I updated to 8.1, and now after maybe a week I get the occasional Instruction memory error with 0x000000 type codes.
At one point whenever I logged in it would popup with explorer.exe failed, so I wouldn't be able to do anything on the PC, I restored to a system restore point and it now is gone, however I will see it every now and again. Not a big deal now, but I would like to repair it if possible, as it obviously can't be doing any good for the PC.
I have two operatings systems. Windows 7 on one drive and Windows 8 on the other. I have a program called PowerDirector 11 installed on the Windows 7 drive. I went to install the said program on the Windows 8 drive, (to be able to access it from either drive) and when I try to open or run the .exe, I get the error "The application has failed to start because the side-by-side configuration is incorrect.
Four BSOD today, all with the same error. I can't think of anything that would have caused this. Memory test shows no errors with the RAM. Blue screen's have occurred both shortly after startup without any stress on the system, as well as after it hadn't been shut down for a while with lots open. I can't find anything that forces it to blue screen, seems fairly random (it's happened while I'm not even using the system). Dumps at the very bottom.
Much longer summary: I've got an Asus S400C on windows 8.1 that's about 6 months old. It's been really good to me but recently has seemed a little unstable,(or maybe that's me just thinking badly about it now! I would have said it occasionally hangs more than I think it should for a newish laptop) - but nothing I couldn't put up with. This morning it gave a BSOD with KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR. In fairness it had been a while since it had been properly shutdown (i tend to just put it into standby by closing the lid) and I also had quite a lot of things open. I still wouldn't expect it to bluescreen like that though.
I think I've had the same blue screen once before, about 3 weeks ago. Today it blue screened four times in total - the three other times without me asking much of the laptop at all (only word, chrome and itunes open). Definitely not right!
I've run the memory test and it found no errors. Yesterday I replaced a qualcomm wifi driver with a microsoft one (both ones that were already on the system) but reverting back hasn't stopped the blue screens so I don't think it was related to that (it also was fine yesterday evening after changing). I've also uninstalled Asus Liveupdate because it's always saying it's "stopped working..."
It might be unrelated but 2 weeks ago I opened the lid of the laptop to find that I could move the cursor but had an otherwise blank screen (on, but displaying black except for a cursor. Normal resolution though!). I coudn't get it to do anything so held the power button, and when it turned back on it said it was doing automatic recovery, and checking the harddisk - it took about 3 hours to do. Afterwards it booted up and worked.
I've tried to investigate the dmp files with my basic ability to google and something that crops up is win8_driver_error. Also it usually says "Probably caused by : ntkrnlmp.exe".

Left the computer on for a while and came back to it having restarted itself following a BSOD.
I have a Acer Windows 8 computer and its stuck on reverting update changes and restarting. It says "Failed configuring Windows Updates Reverting changes" then restarts and then does that again. I cannot go to the desktop.
I Im getting an error when trying to add a components it says visual basic 6.0 object library not registered and underneath that it shows cwindowsyswow64mscomctil.ocx, how can i fixes this I have tried a lot of programs to fix the registry error fixes , but it still dose not work. What can I do to make my visual basic 6.0 work, I have installed and uninstalled the software and i still get this error.
This is reg uICE (Universal Infrared Control Engine). After installing in my Win 8 64-bit machine whileI try to launch it, I am getting the error-- The task monitor failed to start.reinstall uICE. Error: The service has not been started.
Reinstalling did not work. Nor did compatibility mode installation. Basically uICE declined to start in my Win 8 64 bit. Please note that this program worked fine on my previous 32 bit version of Win 8.
Is there a way to make it work on my PC? Alternatively you can suggest me some other programs like uICE to remote control multimedia applications like WMP, VLC player, Winamp etc?

Massive problem I have encountered since buying a new laptop pre-installed with Windows 8.1
I have 3 external USB storage devices - 1x Corsair "Slider" 64GB, 1x HiTachi Touro 750GB, & 1x HiTachi 4TB external drive. ALL drives are coming up with the same error message and are not being recognized by Windows 8.1
The strange thing is, I also have another 2 PCs - one with Win7 and one with WinXP and the drives work without issue.
Why ALL of these drives do not work on this new laptop pre-installed with Windows 8.1?
Even stranger still is I have other thumb drives, a cheap Transcend 32GB (which is USB3.0) and a few cheapo (USB2.0) drives of various sizes by Strontium, Lexar and so on which work perfectly.
But the one that has me o.O is an expensive 64GB thumb drive called the Mach Extreme which also works perfectly with this laptop???
So all up 2x HiTachi drives & 1x Corsair thumb drive are not working and its driving me bonkers!
If no drives worked at all, then I would be seeking the manufacturer for maybe a faulty component. Dodgy USB ports, or maybe a motherboard problem. But having a handfull of drives, of various makes, sizes and both USB3.0 - 2.0 fully working leaves me scratching the old chrome dome as to what could be the issue
The HiTachi 4TB drive is my main storage device, I'm preety much stuffed if I can't get this drive working with this laptop. The same goes with the 750GB too. I REALLY need these 2 drives functional with this laptop.
I have been using Windows 8 Pro for about five months and running the backup utility for about four months with no major issues. I have used it to create a system image and scheduled to back up my data files weekly.
For the past two weeks I have been getting an error message "error code 0x80780049" along with a message that my files did not backup.
My backup is via esata to an external drive and as mentioned above this was working fine (I even tried a restore of a couple of files to prove it) but now it will not complete the backup. I even deleted the entire backup and started again from scratch but backup fails at about 50% completion. I have checked with windows defender and no viruses exist.
I have re installed as many drivers as i could and it seems the irql_not_less_or_equal is not happening any more but i am still getting Memory Management BSOD's.
Recently I built my first gaming PC and I have started having occasional BSOD's when gaming. Here are my specs.
RAM = Crucilal Ballistix 8GB kit 1600 2 x 4GB GPU = Sapphire HD 7970 CPU = intel i5 4670k Motherboard = Asus Z87 A HDD = Western Digital Blue 1TB SSD = Samsung Evo 120GB CPU Cooler = Hyper 212 EVO Processor Cooler PSU = Corsair CX750M Optical Drive = LiteOn IHOS104 4x BD-ROM SATA Blu-Ray
The errors that appear when my PC restarts are to do with memory dumping.
As soon as I updated to Windows 8.1 I had BSOD issues, specifically MEMORY_MANAGEMENT. Additionally Chrome was acting up, tabs weren't loading, then my system would BSOD.
I have an Asus laptop model X501A. A few months ago I had to get the hard drive replaced which Asus did themselves and ever since then I have been getting BSOD and low memory errors while playing Dota 2. My computer always ran the game fine before this. I can still run the game for the most part but I get the memory error every time. I can usually just close the error and continue playing, but it has gotten to the point where I blue screen multiple times a day during game. I have also heard that Windows 8.1 might be the reasoning behind this as well. I do not know much about computers and I am not sure whether I used the SF Diagnostic tool correctly, but I am attaching the zip file.
I re-installed Windows 8 , everything worked fine until today I started having BSOD's saying I have "Memory Management" , "IRQL Not Less Or Equal" , "kernel security check failure" , "DPC Watchdog Violation", So... I attached the files from the Diagnostic Tool.
It started with AMD Catalyst Control Center starting to crash on boot, so I re-installed it and it works fine, but them Google Chrome starts to crash or just the extensions or open tabs
I can't remember the exact details but my computer Blue Screened with something about kernel memory exception (not entirely sure). This has been going on for weeks and I normally just ignore it.
Unfortunately its getting worse and I have a feeling my hardware is at fault but I'm not entirely sure.
I have a new laptop and am trying to work out the kinks
Its a new Windows 8.1 build. But seems to be causing all kinds of problems. And honestly i'm not sure where to start trying to fix it. I think its driver related but have tried updating a few drivers with varying success (as even this has led to some BSODs)
My new PC is crashing constantly with the following errors:
MEMORY_MANAGEMENT (About 10 times per day) SPECIAL_POOL_DETECTED_MEMORY_CORRUPTION (This actually happened 3-4 times today (once while I was typing this message) PFN_LIST_CORRUPT (Maybe 4-5 times per day...usually when I'm trying to update STEAM?) KERNAL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE (Only saw this once and it was when I was installing WoW)
There seems to be no method to this things madness.
