I bought a refurbished lenovo u410 with windows 8 back in september, but in the past week every time it goes into sleep or hibernation mode I get a BSOD with Driver_Power_State_Failure.

Now when my computer wakes up from sleep I receive a DRIVER_IRQ_NOT LESS_OR_EQUAL BSOD related to cmudaxp.sys, which I've discovered is related to my Asus Xonar Essence STX sound card. I am running the Windows 8.1 beta drivers directly from Asus's website, and the drivers were working fine before my clean install. What could be causing this problem now, after everything was fine before?

I've been having 3 different BSODs the last while. SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION, KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR, and SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED. The bug check codes are 0x1000007e or 0x0000003b for the system_service_exception.
My laptop is running windows 8.1, it is an Asus G46vw. I've updated my video drivers, both intel and nvidia. I've updated other drivers that i can find updates for. I've run memtest 86+ 5.01 on both sticks of ram individually, and they both pass multiple passes. I've also updated my Intel SSD to the newest firmware.
The crashes happen when the computer is waking up from both sleep and hibernate. They have been more frequent lately (4 crashes the last 9 days). I've attached the files from sf diagnostic tool.
My system is old : MSI Neo2 Nforce3 + HD4650 Radeon AGP + 2 GB mem + AMD Athlon 3000+
However, I wanted to try Windows 8.1 Enterprise Evaluation for it and was able to install it successfully with 32 bit version (64 bit didn't work). I installed Radeon legacy AGP Hotfix 12.6 drivers that seem to work for the old AGP card giving Youtube HD playback! Not too shabby for a single core beast.
So I have been happy with the system performance (faster to boot than XP etc.).
However, I have encountered two problems that I haven't been able to resolve:
1 - Realtek Gigabit Ethernet (8111) fails to initialize the Internet on some boots, requiring enable/disable driver to make it work. I have installed newest drivers from Realtek website but no effect.
2 - When the system goes to sleep, it wakes up with black screen and no way to get picture back except resetting the computer. I have tried to change my MB BIOS setup (I have the latest BIOS installed) to disable S3 and use only S1 mode but to no avail. Black screen awaits in every wake up. I have also experienced once the driver_power_state_failure error..
So, I see there are many posts about black screens and sleep modes but I haven't found the solution for Nforce3 motherboard AGP setups yet.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI took my computer to a computer repairs to get my fan fixed and when I got it back I found that my computer kept crashing when waking from sleep. It happens every time and is inconvenient as it just resets. It also takes longer to turn on, it has a black screen for a short amount of time, it was not like this before, I can put up with the added turning on time but I need to be able to sleep and wake my laptop without issues.

I've been using Windows 7 on my laptop for over a year now with little to no problems, decide to finally take the dive into Windows 8. The installation runs smoothly, and everything seems perfect up until I tried to come out of sleep mode. Whenever I try to come out of either sleep or Hibernate it starts to awaken then I get the BSOD, stating "Your PC ran into a problem it couldn't handle, and now it needs to restart " ...
After following the instructions to search "Kernel_Data_Inpage_Error", and finding answers that didn't work for me, I'm here now, months later, sad, tired and in need of this being fixed ....
Switched to Windows 8 (then to 8.1) from 7, BSOD when coming out of sleep/hibernate.
I've been getting random(ish) BSOD. I first noticed them when installing/updating Star Wars: TOR, but have since had it happen when trying to update other games too.Had few in the past (only owned laptop for roughly 2 months) but seems to be increasing in frequency. Thought they may be tied to when it tries to sleep, but disabled it going to sleep in the power settings and it still BSOD.

My system is Windows 8.1, Samsung notebook, i7, 8gb RAM and 1tb hard-drive.
I updated the Intel Rapid Storage Driver but no improvement in situation of BSOD on waking up from sleep. Basically, the screen/desktop is visible and I can move the cursor and try to double click on programs, before getting the BSOD (collecting errors and restarting) screen.
I always do 'full shutdowns' /have disabled fast startup. Have also disabled some startup apps such as google updater and a couple others but the laptop is still taking around 3 minutes to boot with no HDD light activity for a couple of minutes (is this normal when fast startup is disabled???). Shut downs /entering sleep mode are swift.
On another note, Synaptics driver isn't installing and I was told that would work (for some reason) but that may not be relevant.
Over the past couple of days, my computer has BSOD whenever I wake it from sleep. It runs (mostly) fine, and boots up normally.
Here's my diagnostic.
I just had this "page_fault_in_non-paged_area" error show up on a blue screen. It happened right after I woke my laptop up from sleep mode.

I have a Lenovo S410p idea pad. From the very first day it has been BSODing whenever it comes out of sleep mode.
I have attached the log files from SF diagnostic tool.
I am facing the issue that after waking my new Lenovo X240 (with 8.1 installed on SSD) from sleep mode it takes up to 50 seconds until the lock screen appears. After setting up Windows to bypass the lock screen altogether waking from sleep mode now only takes a couple of seconds, which is how I would expect it to be.
However, I would actually like to keep the lock screen for security reasons, but haven't figured out what could be the cause for this massive delay?!
After waking from sleep mode...is there way to avoid having to resign back in?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm getting no sound after resuming from S1 sleep mode in Windows 8 and the only way to fix this is to either physically unplug the audio cable and plug it back in or restart the computer. I tried the audio troubleshooter and it could not find any problems and there is nothing to fix. I need to reconnect the audio cable every time the computer wakes up from sleep unless I restart the computer. I have an EVGA X58 motherboard with a Realtek ALC889 audio chip. I'm using the latest R2.70 audio driver from EVGA which is the same version as on the Realtek website.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have an Insipron 17R, core i5 zm2410, NVIDIA Geforce 525m, win8 64bit and I'm experiencing a problem with the hibernation/sleep mode.
About 2 weeks ago my laptop went to hibernation mode after beeing in sleep mode for 2 hours while on battery (to advoid full battery drain).
Now it doesn't do it anymore but stays in sleep mode for the whole time and drains the battery.
I usually detach the power cable from the laptop over night because of the noise from the power adapter and the laptop always hibernated after beeing in sleep mode. I went over the configuration in power options and power plans, and even reseted and configured them again, without success.
The only changes that were made to the system are the important windows updates...
I've been working with a computer I've put together for a couple of months now, and I haven't been able to figure out what exactly is causing various BSODs. They mostly happen when coming out of sleep mode. The crashes would generally happen once every couple of days. One time I did get it to crash while running the driver Verifier application while copying files from one folder to another. I've been whittling the components left in the machine down, and I'm down to just a hard drive and dvd-drive as extra components at this point. The only configuration I have left to try is to switch to a different hard drive and only run that.
The errors would generally have to do with various "Pool header" issues. I've tried running memtest overnight and it'd get though 6-8 passes easily each overnight session. I've done that a couple of times. I also have run chkdsk to see if there were any issues on the hard drives, but those have come up without issues too. So since I'm not seeing any hardware issues, I'm thinking that this is just a driver issue. I have updated whatever drivers I could see that looked out of date and I make sure that I have the latest Windows Updates. I've tried to keep the software installed on the machine to a minimum after I did a complete reinstallation of Windows 8.1.
As of late , after awaking from sleep mode, the Action Center is requesting me to re-enter my password. I am clueless as to why this is happening.
The only change is that I cancelled my MS Office 365 [P6] subscription.
Maybe the unlinking? of [original1@original1.onmicrosoft.com] from [original1@live.com] is causing this behavior. Dunno?
I had used the on microsoft as my Windows 8 login account and had a few problems with that.
So I deleted that 'user' and created a new one with the .live email.
But that was more than a year ago. It's not the end of the world or anything, just a bit annoying and worrisome that it may be a 'bogus' pop-up in Action Center.
I had a problem a few months ago on Windows 8.1 I was unable to solve so I reinstalled windows 8 and was able to put my computer to sleep and wake again. Upon re-updating to Windows 8.1 I once again have the problem of a crash when trying to come out of sleep.
I tried Windows 8.1 again because of hardware changes that allowed me to uninstall a few outdated drivers, but that did not fix the problem. What may be causing it to crash when trying to wake?

So a few moments ago I had my first BSOD (since I changed my failing HDD with an SSD). It happened when I opened the lid and was about to enter my password/PIN @Windows 8 lockscreen. I usually press enter on the numpad to bring up the password/PIN prompt screen and when I did that I got a BSOD saying "IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL".
I had Google Chrome running in the background with about 3 tabs (not running any demanding sites). I had IOGraph running in the background (it detects mouse movements and stops and puts it on an image file to make it look nice, again nothing too demanding).
I updated my GPU and Bluetooth drivers about 2-3hrs before it happened. They were the latest Intel HD4000 and Bluetooth (integrated in Intel Centrino Advanced-N6325) from Intel's site. All of this was after restarting post-driver updates.I have never had a BSOD, at least for the last 6-7 months (when my HDD failed). S.M.A.R.T. data for my SSD has not changed and shows no abnormalities.
I'm getting a BSOD every time i wake my machine from Hibernation or Sleep.
Running Windows 8.1 on Lenovo Thinkpad e540 that is about 2 months old. I'm a developer so have lots of different dev tools installed but it only started happening a week or so ago.
I bought this laptop October-13 with Windows 8 preinstalled. It had a few hiccups after the first month, but its just been getting worse and worse. Sometimes it will just freeze, other times it will freeze and BSOD. And its always a kernel_data_inpage_error. It happens pretty much while doing anything else then playing games, especially when playing video, be it streaming or local files.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've actually had this problem for a while, I really should have taken care of it sooner. It is mostly because I found ways around it, which probably aren't too good for my computer. If I leave music running in the background and put the computer to sleep then the error won't occur. Needless-to-say - and as the title says- The system crashes upon waking up from sleep mode. The screen turns blue and says: "Sorry, your computer encountered an error and needs to restart. We're just collecting some error info, and then we'll restart for you" The results from the diagnostic test have been attached
System recoveries and restores haven't worked, hence the reason why I've sort of given up on the problem until now.

My computer randomly crash when i sleep the computer. normally, it should sleep and the power light should be off in 30 seconds, but when it crash, it takes 5 minutes and finally the computer shutdown instead of sleeping.
And the problem is... i can't have the screenshot of my bluescreen because it always happened when the screen is off....
if i opened memory.dmp with windbg ,it sayd "memory corruption"..... Here is my debug file generated by SF, i opened it with windbg(64 bit) and it says "Probably caused by : ntoskrnl.exe ( nt+5a440 )" it seems a system application ,how could i solve it?
