I'm getting a BSOD every time i wake my machine from Hibernation or Sleep.
Running Windows 8.1 on Lenovo Thinkpad e540 that is about 2 months old. I'm a developer so have lots of different dev tools installed but it only started happening a week or so ago.
I just had this "page_fault_in_non-paged_area" error show up on a blue screen. It happened right after I woke my laptop up from sleep mode.

Basically about 3 weeks ago I had some computer issues, I figured it was a good time for a couple of upgrades so I replaced the Motherboard, Processor, Power Supply, and I had my Video Card RMA'd by EVGA (excessive coil whine)
I formatted the hard drive (it was a 300GB partition of a 1.5 TB Raid 0) and reinstalled windows 8 to the computer, everything seemed fine for about a week, I took my computer downstairs to hook it up to a TV so my family could watch some Hulu on the big screen and my computer started getting BSOD every few minutes.
I was unsure as to what was causing it so I reinstalled windows again. After the install I was still getting BSOD... so I went out and bought a SATA 120GB SSD and put it in as the primary Hard Drive and installed windows to that drive instead of onto the Raid partition. Same thing, more BSOD...
At this point I have reinstalled 4 times, I tried allowing Windows to fully update everything and tried turning all updates off and manually installing everything myself. More BSOD both ways... in fact at this point when I try to manually install the NVidia drivers they just Fail during the install and wont finish...
Given that the BSOD seem to be either Page Fault in Non Paged area and Bad Pool Header I figured it might be the RAM and ran a MemTest over night, unless I am reading it wrong there were no errors:
My current system specs are:
Full version Windows 8 Pro (not upgraded to 8.1)
Intel i5-4670 CPU (about 3 weeks old)
Gigabyte Z87X-HD3 Motherboard (about 3 weeks old)
2 2GB Corsair 1333 MHz DDR3 RAM (about 5 years old)
EVGA Nvidia GTX 580 3GB video card (just got a RMA replacement about 3 weeks ago)
SoundBlaster XFi PCIE card (About 5 years old)
PCI 4 Drive SATA Raid Controller
120GB SSD Hard Drive (about 1 week old)
4 500 GB Seagate Barracuda single platter Hard drives (SATA, about 3 years old, 1 single and 3 in a Raid 0 Setup)
Corsair TX 650M Power Supply (about 3 weeks old)
DVD RW Drive (SATA, about 5 years old)
So, based on this wall of information, I am suspecting one of 3 things:
1. Might be corruption in the 8GB Thumb drive I am installing my Windows 8 from. ?
2. Might be something with drivers on the computer... after 4 clean reinstalls I don't see how this can be totally it but...
3. Some other hardware on my computer is causing the issue:
- On board sound conflicting with the soundblaster?
- RAID controller?
- Bad GPU / VRAM?

Anyways, I get the BSOD whenever I shutdown or restart my computer, which it'll then restart my computer. In order to turn it off, I have to hold the power button.

I have been getting the infamous BSOD when restarting my laptop with the error message of "page fault in nonpaged area". I have a Toshiba Satellite laptop with an intel i3 2.40ghz processor, 6gb of ram and a 500gb hard drive.
It mostly happens when doing a system restart but occasionally happens
when booting up after the system has been shut down, I have uploaded the zip file that I got from running the SF Debug tool.
I recently bought a lenovo 11s with the i5 hashwel and i have been getting a few errors.
Every time I shut down the laptop and close the laptop over, when i try to start it again the BSOD error message "Page fault in nonpaged area (rtwlan.sys)" appears.
I have checked my event viewer and the critical message is a kernal 41 error. - Am not sure if this data is needed but more data rather than less am i right? - the error in event viewer as follows:

I have updated all the drivers i can via lenovos website and using the automatic search on device manager, all of which they say are up to date.
I have checked a possible cause being the bridging between my wlan and wifi but this doesn't exist i don't think.
For the past few days, my laptop has been crashing upon waking from hibernation. I initially thought it was a trojan or virus, but after poking around more I think its either a HD or driver issue. I installed Who Crashed and Blue Screen View, which mostly return ntoskrnl.exe, but have also thrown in tcpip.sys, AMPPAL.sys, and usbhub.sys. Asus Install seems to think I'm up to date on all the drivers, but after looking at some of these files, I'm not so sure. Dumps attached.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm experiencing a problem after installing Windows 8 on Dell Inspiron N7110.
When I leave my laptop on for a while, it restarts because of a blue screen with the error: 0x00000050; PAGE_FAULT_IN_NON_PAGED_AREA
It only happens when the laptop isn't used but is still on. When I'm working on it this error doesn't occur.
I checked RAM and HDD with Dell Support Center PC Checkup (even RAM stress test) and it shows no errors. Besides the HDD is new, as my old one broke and Dell replaced it.
I updated all my drivers from Dell's Website, so they all supported by windows 8.
So a few moments ago I had my first BSOD (since I changed my failing HDD with an SSD). It happened when I opened the lid and was about to enter my password/PIN @Windows 8 lockscreen. I usually press enter on the numpad to bring up the password/PIN prompt screen and when I did that I got a BSOD saying "IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL".
I had Google Chrome running in the background with about 3 tabs (not running any demanding sites). I had IOGraph running in the background (it detects mouse movements and stops and puts it on an image file to make it look nice, again nothing too demanding).
I updated my GPU and Bluetooth drivers about 2-3hrs before it happened. They were the latest Intel HD4000 and Bluetooth (integrated in Intel Centrino Advanced-N6325) from Intel's site. All of this was after restarting post-driver updates.I have never had a BSOD, at least for the last 6-7 months (when my HDD failed). S.M.A.R.T. data for my SSD has not changed and shows no abnormalities.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI took my computer to a computer repairs to get my fan fixed and when I got it back I found that my computer kept crashing when waking from sleep. It happens every time and is inconvenient as it just resets. It also takes longer to turn on, it has a black screen for a short amount of time, it was not like this before, I can put up with the added turning on time but I need to be able to sleep and wake my laptop without issues.

I bought a refurbished lenovo u410 with windows 8 back in september, but in the past week every time it goes into sleep or hibernation mode I get a BSOD with Driver_Power_State_Failure.

My system is Windows 8.1, Samsung notebook, i7, 8gb RAM and 1tb hard-drive.
I updated the Intel Rapid Storage Driver but no improvement in situation of BSOD on waking up from sleep. Basically, the screen/desktop is visible and I can move the cursor and try to double click on programs, before getting the BSOD (collecting errors and restarting) screen.
I always do 'full shutdowns' /have disabled fast startup. Have also disabled some startup apps such as google updater and a couple others but the laptop is still taking around 3 minutes to boot with no HDD light activity for a couple of minutes (is this normal when fast startup is disabled???). Shut downs /entering sleep mode are swift.
On another note, Synaptics driver isn't installing and I was told that would work (for some reason) but that may not be relevant.
Over the past couple of days, my computer has BSOD whenever I wake it from sleep. It runs (mostly) fine, and boots up normally.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI bought this laptop October-13 with Windows 8 preinstalled. It had a few hiccups after the first month, but its just been getting worse and worse. Sometimes it will just freeze, other times it will freeze and BSOD. And its always a kernel_data_inpage_error. It happens pretty much while doing anything else then playing games, especially when playing video, be it streaming or local files.

Now when my computer wakes up from sleep I receive a DRIVER_IRQ_NOT LESS_OR_EQUAL BSOD related to cmudaxp.sys, which I've discovered is related to my Asus Xonar Essence STX sound card. I am running the Windows 8.1 beta drivers directly from Asus's website, and the drivers were working fine before my clean install. What could be causing this problem now, after everything was fine before?

I keep getting blue screen all the time, its so frustrating, ive reinstalled for 2nc time now and this error doesnt go away. I dont know what to do, i dont know if it is a hardware problem or a software problem, ive run RAM and HDD tests and passed both. And everytime i get blue screen,the bios reverts to some old settings ive had.

I thought the ram is flawed so I went back to the store for a new ram and the BSOD problem halted for a week but now it's coming back again.

"Kernel IN Page error" and "Critical Process Died"
After reboots, some of my software gets reset (i.e. I need to relogin to chrome to get my preferences/plugins back)
I had a problem a few months ago on Windows 8.1 I was unable to solve so I reinstalled windows 8 and was able to put my computer to sleep and wake again. Upon re-updating to Windows 8.1 I once again have the problem of a crash when trying to come out of sleep.
I tried Windows 8.1 again because of hardware changes that allowed me to uninstall a few outdated drivers, but that did not fix the problem. What may be causing it to crash when trying to wake?

I've been having 3 different BSODs the last while. SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION, KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR, and SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED. The bug check codes are 0x1000007e or 0x0000003b for the system_service_exception.
My laptop is running windows 8.1, it is an Asus G46vw. I've updated my video drivers, both intel and nvidia. I've updated other drivers that i can find updates for. I've run memtest 86+ 5.01 on both sticks of ram individually, and they both pass multiple passes. I've also updated my Intel SSD to the newest firmware.
The crashes happen when the computer is waking up from both sleep and hibernate. They have been more frequent lately (4 crashes the last 9 days). I've attached the files from sf diagnostic tool.
My system is old : MSI Neo2 Nforce3 + HD4650 Radeon AGP + 2 GB mem + AMD Athlon 3000+
However, I wanted to try Windows 8.1 Enterprise Evaluation for it and was able to install it successfully with 32 bit version (64 bit didn't work). I installed Radeon legacy AGP Hotfix 12.6 drivers that seem to work for the old AGP card giving Youtube HD playback! Not too shabby for a single core beast.
So I have been happy with the system performance (faster to boot than XP etc.).
However, I have encountered two problems that I haven't been able to resolve:
1 - Realtek Gigabit Ethernet (8111) fails to initialize the Internet on some boots, requiring enable/disable driver to make it work. I have installed newest drivers from Realtek website but no effect.
2 - When the system goes to sleep, it wakes up with black screen and no way to get picture back except resetting the computer. I have tried to change my MB BIOS setup (I have the latest BIOS installed) to disable S3 and use only S1 mode but to no avail. Black screen awaits in every wake up. I have also experienced once the driver_power_state_failure error..
So, I see there are many posts about black screens and sleep modes but I haven't found the solution for Nforce3 motherboard AGP setups yet.

the installation was done around end of january, i don't have much running on that computer but games (i have another system for work)
The issue i have is the Paged Pool memory after system is up is at roughly 250mb but keep increasing around 1-2mb per sec and never stops, after roughly 1h uptime, i'm already at 2gb.(after 1day uptime yesterday, i was at 56gb). The non-paged pool is however never an issue and sits between 150mb and 250mb (i would say normal values)
i've read about disabling NDU, disabling killer networks application (my network driver) and many other things but so far still no luck.
New to the Forums, but not new to these errors. been having them for a while now, it's one or the other and happens about once a day or so, but with the fast restarts and such it never sets me back too far, but I still wish to fix this all.
Included is the SF file for your looking purposes.
My laptop is 2 days old and I went to do a windows update which I had to do and just says 'failure configuring windows features. reverting changes, don't not turn off computer' this also is happening with my other laptop I think it's a bit of a joke that it doesn't work on a brand new laptop..
