Using PdfXchange Editor and knows the trick to get F1 to use the local manual file instead of going onto the web.
It has a subdirectory. Copying the manual there does nothing. Also I see no setting in Preferences or anything in the online FAQ.

I have just refreshed my pc because I was having numerous problems with it and it turned out to be a bad stick of RAM. However, now I am having software issues. Whenever I try to make a call on the desktop version of skype, the program crashes. Whenever I try to open HP support assistant, the program crashes. When i am using the metro app version of skype I get a weird artifacting type problem on any of the buttons. I have this same problem in internet explorer and on Netflix. Netflix will not play on Chrome. It will play on IE, but with the button artifacting problems. My computer will not pair via bluetooth with my phone.

I noticed some discrepancies with Sendto:-
When I Right click on an icon & select Sendto the MS Photo Editor does not show up although I put it there in "...Roaming.....Windows Sendto"
Also I deleted "Floppy drive A" in "...Roaming.....Windows Sendto" but, it still shows when I Right click on an icon & select Sendto.

This enhancement applies to VMware Player standalone. If you have VMware Workstation installed, you don't need to apply this as Workstation includes all the features (and also includes VMware Player).
As the most VMware Workstation users know, there is a virtual network editor available that lets you configure the virtual networks, add new networks and delete networks for the virtual machines and also bridged networks with the host computer.
Edit:
One of the usage of the network editor is fixing the bridged network connection: How to fix bridged networking in VMware player - YouTube
The editor is useful (mostly for advanced users...but you'll never now when it might be needed) to add, delete and configure the default virtual networks that come pre-installed with Player.
VMware Player is Workstation's little brother, it's free and comes with less features. There is no Network editor with VMware Player (...or is it?)
The network editor is available in the VMware Player installer but it's default set NOT to install with the rest of the features (don't know why).
It seems different fixes need to be applied to each of Player's version 4, 5 or 6.
If using version 4 of the Player, this also applies to version 3.
I'm gonna show you how to add the network editor to VMware Player.
It's easy, or it should have been... but each version has its surprise.
Keep in mind that techniques used for one version apply for newer versions too but the files need to be extracted form other installers and other archives or additional files may be required.
Player version 3 and 4 To begin we first need to extract the VMware Player installer with some extra parameters (name-of-installer.exe /e .extract). You put the installer in a folder of your choice and create a shortcut of it as shown below (1) with the extra parameters in the target:
Then you run the shortcut that creates a folder (extract) containing all the components.
Go to folder "extract". We are interested in "network.cab": open or extract it and there you see "vmnetcfg.exe". It's the network editor.
Copy or move it in the VMware Player installation folder ("Program Files (x86)VMwareVMware Player" should be the default path).
This is shown below:
Now we are ready. The network editor is part of VMware Player just like in Workstation.
The virtual networks that appear in the notification area in Windows Vista and later can be configured or deleted:
Don't delete them if you use networking in your virtual machines. The network editor works as seen in last screenshot.
Player version 5 The fix above doesn't work in VMware Player 5: the file we need is included with Workstation. (using "/e extract" parameter for the installer still applies). Read here: VMware Communities: Whither VMware Player 5.0 VMNetCfg.exe?
Extra update: Vertigo here later on the thread: How to add the "Virtual Network Editor" to VMware Player some extra info is provided how to simplify things out: VMware Player 5 already has a vmnetui.dll included and the whole procedure posted above is not needed anymore!
Player version 6
Then, See post here. Until a command is discovered to see if Player includes the network editor again, the extraction technique of vmnetcfg.exe still is considered as 'the' fix.

I installed 2003 outlook and word (outlook editor) on my brand new Win 8.1 netbook and when typing the "TO" and "CC" lines the names show up but when pressing enter they will not be accepted. I have to enter the first couple of letters of the names and then press the "check names" icon and go through the list even though the one I wanted was the one that showed up on the auto fill line singularly.
I know the auto fill does not go to the outlook contact book but rather remembers the names as they are "sent".
I have used outlook for years on both Win XP and Win 7 (various 32+64, Pro, Ultimate) and now with Win 8 it will NOT work the same way. My brother has the identical netbook and is running Outlook 2007 and it performs the same way - will not allow enter to complete the autofill. Whatsup over there at MS?

Dell Inspiron 17
Windows 8.1
Intel Core i3-227U CPU @ 1.90GHz
4.00 GB (3.88 GB usable)
64-bit OS, x64-based processor
I have turned everything on including sharing, etc. I first noticed there was a problem yesterday when I tried connecting to a Sony Soundbar. It didn't find anything in the room. I attempted to connect my Blackberry to my laptop and it couldn't find that either. BUT....my Blackberry connected to the Sony Soundbar and my hands free ear piece. So I attempted Dell CS and they told me I was 2 weeks beyond my warranty and it would cost me $129 one time fee or $239 1 year unlimited. I find that this was completely unwarranted considering how long I've been a customer and how many computers I have purchased from them in my lifetime. My warranty ended on 8/15/14. I've had nothing but problems with this laptop and even had to re-install the entire OS back in May due to a BSOD drivers error crash. I mean, come on.

I am using Windows 8.1 Enterprise x64. I have normally used bluetooth on my HP Probook 4730s this days with my bluetooth headset. Now I have installed Office Remote Controller Add-In for Office 2013 Pro and since then I was not uble to turn on the bluetooth. I don't believe it's because of this Add-In for Office 2013, but I don't get it what could be wrong. I also can't make a system restore on any date.
When I go to PC Settings and go to Bluetooth, PC Settings just freeze or crash. I have updated bluetooth drivers and that doesn't solve the problem. Reinstalling my Windows is not an option in this moment, because I am working on a lot of projects and it will eat my time if I have to install Windows, Visual Studio, SQL Server and Office again.

The computer I have is an ASUS N56VM with windows 8.1. There are also other drivers for other devices in the computer that can not be installed after windows 8.1 been installed. could it be that the bluetooth device require any other device works? such as support for hotkeys.

I have an original W 8.1 in a Lenovo x1 Carbon (64) and want to connect via Bluetooth to an updated 8 to 8.1 HP Envy (64). Both have Bluetooth. Although I can connect other devices (phone, speaker, etc.) I cannot connect the 2 PC's. I can get the name of the PC on the device screen and am asked to connect but then I get a notation showing a pass code and am asked to verify (yes - no) if this is the pass code shown on the other computers screen. I cannot find a pass code for the other computer and none is shown on the screen. Is there a way to connect the two computers?

I have an HP Pavilion dm4 3050 laptop. I have spent a lot of time trying to fix my bluetooth problems since updating to 8.
I go into add a device in a the CP and the machine finds the bluetooth speakers and I add them. I then right click them-> sound settings, then see my speakers below the default device speakers. They are listed as disconnected so I right click them and try to connect but they won't connect. I have updated the Intel bluetooth drivers but the speakers still won't connect.

I have a bluetooth module (Broadcom 2070) installed in my laptop. The hardware seems to be functioning fine (at least from Device Manager). However, when I go to Bluetooth Settings, all I see is this:
I'm not able to remove the Bluetooth Mouse there, and I'm also not able to detect any Bluetooth devices at all. I've even tried to use a Bluetooth dongle but to no avail. I've seen some suggested solutions to enable Bluetooth Support Services (which I have, and placed under Local Access), but this doesn't work for me as well.

I am trying to import my contacts to the phone, which I gather can be done with a bluetooth connection via some sort of PIM that the bluetooth software recognizes. For the life of me I can't find any explicit reference to any particular PIM software that the Windows 8 bluetooth Properties dialog recognizes. Or, have I misunderstood the capabilities here? Do I have to buy and install Outlook?
I am unfortunately using Thunderbird as email & contact manager, but I've exported my contacts via .csv in the past so If I can find the appropriately compatible PIM for Windows 8 Bluetooth I think I can muddle through.

I have a tablet that I installed Windows 8 Pro on.
Actually, I have installed Windows 8 Pro on 2 of these same tablets with the same problem.
They both have bluetooth and the bluetooth is on...and Windows 8 installs a driver for the bluetooth, but there is no bluetooth icon down by the clock in the systray.
From my understanding of Windows, if that bluetooth icon is not in the systray, something is not configuired right.
I can use a USB bluetooth dongle, and after it installs those drivers the bluetooth icon is present the systray. So, it likes the dongle. But, I don't know what the issue can be with the onboard bluetooth.

So I bought this wireless game controller for my pc. I plugged it in at home and set to trying to getting it connected. It didn't seem to be connecting to any bluetooth network, so I looked for bluetooth in control panel and it didn't exist. I found out how to turn on bluetooth, but it seems in my 'Change PC Settings' menu there is no Wireless option. I went to the windows 8 metro thing and searched for 'wireless' and again nothing comes up at all. I checked my network and sharing center and then to change adapter settings and Ive got my Qualcomm Atheros AR922x Wireless Network adapter there and the device is working fine, just not connected to anything. Does that even work for bluetooth and connecting wireless peripherals?

I read somewhere that the Bluetooth physical transmitter sends out some type of signal into the environment. I also read that it's probably not harmful... but since I probably will not be using Bluetooth in the immediate future, it's probably better off.
Is there an easy way in Windows 8 to shut off Bluetooth for now?

The issue is that I am unable to send files (pictures, in particular) to my laptop via Bluetooth. I have verified that the problem is with my PC rather than my phone by pairing and sending files to a different computer. I have tried everything I know to try, un-pairing and re-pairing, re-installed Intel Bluetooth drivers, uninstalled the phone from Device Manager and re-installed it, made sure the correct services were running, checked firewall settings, and synchronized PIM data.
I am able to send files to my phone from my laptop. After doing a few hours of research, it seems like a handful of folks (me included) do not have all of the Bluetooth options when clicking on the Bluetooth icon from the system tray. The main options I am missing are "Send Files" and "Receive Files".
I started fsquirt and selected "Receive Files", but sending still fails. When selecting "Open Settings" from the Bluetooth icon in the tray, I am taken to a nice little option menu. All of the correct settings are checked, but the interesting thing is that when I click on the "Open Receiving Window" button on the "Shared Folder" tab, absolutely nothing happens. No error, just nothing.

I have a smartphone and a PC with Windows 8 Pro 64 bits. They are paired using bluetooth. But everytime I want to send a file from my smartphone to the PC, I get a confirmation box in Windows 8, asking me if I want to accept or reject the file.
The problem is that in my PC, I have a fullscreen application, and I want that my users use nothing but my application. They should not have any access to any Windows menu or window.
So, how is it possible to disable this confirmation box, so Windows could automatically accept any sent file ?

I currently use Win 8 on my main PC and on my laptop, I need to connect a Bluetooth speaker to either of them but keep running into the same problems. The PC is an Asus P8Z77V De-luxe, with its own Broadcom WIFI and Bluetooth. The Laptop is a Lenovo Z480, again with Broadcom WIFI and Bluetooth.
Whenever I try to connect the speaker, the device is detected correctly, then as soon as I click on it to install/pair, Win 8 begins to start pairing, but then shows the device as "offline" It does the same with the PC and the Laptop.
The speaker is working fine as is the Bluetooth - it connects flawlessly with my Samsung S3 - I have updated my Bluetooth drivers, uninstalled them, reinstalled them and nothing allows the pairing to complete. I have a Bluetooth headset and it has the same problem when I try to connect to my PC, but works ok with my laptop.
