I have got my Acer Iconia W700 and it is good.
But i have 1 problem that i am trying build a Tablet News website on Weebly and when i drag and drop text or other element in the website it is good but when i touch on the text it goes straight to the text editor instead of the bar where you can delete or move and copy the text element and i can't do it because i want to delete the text element and it is getting annoying and it happens with most elements as well.
I tried using it with my Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7 pen to get to the bar of the element to delete/copy/move the element but it is the same.
Is there a mouse method on the Acer Iconia W700 because i think that would be better selecting without going to the text editor like the text element and goes to the bar(move/delete) elements in my website.

First I thought it was slow. Then I got tired of waiting and figured out how to associate all my photos with the windows photo viewer from the desktop apps like I was used to with Windows 7
However, I would like to give it a fair chance to work. So, I am posting here.
When I click on the photo app, it shows some folders, sometimes it kicks me back to the desktop before I can click anytime. Other times, it may show a photo for a few seconds before kicking me back. Either way, this is not acceptable.
The app is not closing. It is still running because if I click the left corner, I see it and can access it again, if over for a second.
Is this experience common. I have had my windows 8 pc a week and I switched over to windows 8.1 about two days after I initially got it setup. I am a very experienced Windows 7 user. I am trying to be open minded about this new operating system.
I have numerous hard drives and over the years due to bad housekeeping I have files all over the place, I am trying to tidy things up by transferring all files with the same extension onto a large memory stick so I can then transfer them back into specific folder, is there a program that will do this.

I am running Excel 2007 and have been working on files and ONLY saving them to my USB memory stick.

Well I think it looks fine to me, and I endeavoureed to use the Open & Repair when openng the file too, with no luck.

Most noticeable are Nitro PDF Professional which doesn't always start when I click on a PDF file, sometimes it does, some times it doesn't. Quicken is often slow to start, some times the window opens then it waits for the display, sometimes the there is a wait until the window even opens. Same for xplorer2 opening and even selecting another folder. Going back to Windows 7 with almost the identical installed programs/utilities (about 40) the "problem" goes away.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI transferred many music files from a backup drive onto a new laptop running Windows 8, and found most renamed as numbered files with a .ptl extension. Found out that my backup drive (Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex) doesn't like long filenames and renames them as referenced above. ("ptl" stands for "path too long"). I have been renaming them, dumping the ptl extension to get the files back as mp3's, but I get a confirmation window that I have to click "yes" to for each and every change I attempt. I'd love to kill the confirm popup for every file I change, it doubles the time involved for each file and I have enough work just renaming the files back to their original names. I've looked all over the control panel for something to uncheck to accomplish this, with no success.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just recently changed my OS to Win 8.1 (from Win 7) and a java application I have (*.jar) is pointing to Python to open it. This is obviously wrong. If I download the latest version of Java and install it, the icon changes and the app works great. The "jar" externsion is associated with java. When the PC is rebooted a few days later, the icon is now the Python one and "jar" is now associated with Python.
How can I get it to "stick" that *.jar is associated with Java?
I fire up my laptop last night and install the patch Tuesday fixes. Afterwards I go to start Outlook 13; I click the tile and nothing happens. I say heck with it for the night, I still have Outlook 10 installed so I start that to get through the night. This morning I root around to see what is going on. I take a look in the program files directory and see that outlook.exe (along with a ton of other executable and dll's) have been renamed to outlook.exe.bak.
If you wonder why I have both 10 and 13 installed, that is how the '13 install left it. I purchased 10 late in its life and got the free upgrade to 13. When I installed 13 it left 10 out there.

After applying microsoft updates about a week ago, office stopped working. finally saw that executables were all renamed w/.bak ext. I tried renaming, just comes up with an error and still none of the office apps. work. I wanted to reinstall, but having problems finding key code, used several 3rd party key code finder apps. But will not find 0ffice 2013. shows office 2013 is installed in control panel/programs. I need access to my calendar desperately.

However when I run this, the server computer comes up with an error saying that remote desktop connection was interrupted. How can I cut the session off without getting the error message?
I suppose I could use Word instead of notepad, but I don't want to wait forever for the files to open. Windows8 and 7 will let you open as many different copies of the same txt file as you want. With keeping my computer on most of the time, and doing various things, sometimes I forget that I have a file open. The most common instance is my list of software keys and activation codes. I had to reinstall something yesterday and had the file open, and it ended up behind a bunch of windows. Much later, I bought a new piece of software and had to add something to the list, a couple of somethings. I saved and closed--fine. Then, turning the computer off, it told me that my "Versions" file was still open--did I want to save, or what? At that point, I had to cancel the shutdown, open the saved copy, compare the saved copy with the one that was still open to see which information was different. Obviously, at that moment, I had not figured out which copy was which. If I had saved, it would have overwritten the changes, by reverting to the old version that I had open. I've had this happen several times, sometimes with new information in each file. I fail to understand why, when I try to open a txt file, Windows does not alert me that it is already open, and do I want to open another copy?

I want to image Surface Pro 3s (about 40 of them) with several dozen apps from the app store. My understanding is that if I want to use an image across multiple devices I have to use sysprep to generalize the image. The problem is any app off the app store is account specific and cannot be generalize. If you try to sysprep with apps installed you will get a Fetal Error, and you cant install apps from the store while in audit mode either.
Are there any options available to me, or will this have to be done manually?
I am running iCloud on multiple PC's. Everything was fine until I had it running on two 8.1 PC's, then I started having problems.
In total, iCloud was running on one Win 7 Pro PC and two Windows 8.1 PC's. My theory is that the two Windows 8.1 PC's were syncing via iCloud and Skydrive (or Onedrive) which is set up by default. But they were able to read each other's settings okay. But Win 7 doesn't have the same sync settings, so the bookmarks were being written in 8.1 and then multiplying in Win 7.
I'm not sure, but this is my theory. Running on all Win 7 is okay. Running on all Win 8.1 seems okay. But combining the two OS's with iCloud seems to cause some problems.
How do I go about associating an email program to the snipping tool in Windows 8. When I try to send the snip via email I get the message that an email program is not associated with it. When I highlight text in Word 2010, the background of the highlight becomes white and the text itself becomes dark blue. Is there a way to change it in Regedit (or elsewhere)?
