I am currently having a probelm with my windows not downloading 2 updates. I let the auto update download and install all of the important updates but I noticed that there are 2 that are not automatacily downloading; SP 1 and Security KB2467173. The odd thing is, when I tried to download them manually through windows update, the download just hangs at 0% I have been using windows 7 for about 8 months and this is the first time an update won't download. One other thing, when I stop the update that's refusing to download, my cpu goes up to %50 usage untill i restart.

i have a hp pavition dv6-6047cl notebook , i try to update, this is what i get. windows update cannot currently check for updates, because the service is not running. you may need to restart your computer
For the past day windows wants to install the same 4 updates over and over, I have windows update set to download and let me choose when to install.
I can't understand why I even need them, as I uninstalled net framework. Notice how the update at 8:17 AM., KB2656368, is the same as one of the 4 updates installed at 7:47 PM. Windows wants to install the same four kb files again. How do I stop this?
Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework 4 on XP, Server 2003, Vista, Windows 7, Server 2008, Server 2008 R2 for x64 (KB2656368) Installation date: 6/15/2012 7:47 PM Installation status: Successful
Windows 7 updates keep coming but will not download. I do not own the win 7 o/s disk, cannot re-load. When I restart pc, warning says loading 2 of 3 updates, but after 2 hours nothing changes. I have to manually turn off pc and then turn it back on.
I have Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit OEM (with free Windows 7 upgrade). I want to reformat the computer. After installing Vista, do I need to download Vista updates, before installing Windows 7? Or just immediately install Windows 7 after Vista? Also, how often do you do a fresh install (reformat)?
After battling massive BSOD all day yesterday, I did a complete factory reset, and many other things which have stopped the BSOD. Unfortunately my CPU is still completely freezing up at random times.
I figured updating all the windows updates, but i'm unable to. I keep getting error code 800B0100 when I try to DL them. I get the x64 Windows Readiness Tool download. I downloaded that and even that has failed to install. I'm not sure what the issue is.
For the past 18+ days I've been unable to download and install updates on Windows7 x64. I've tried all the trouble shooters and the update readiness tool, I've sought and received advice from windows answers to no avail, 14 days ago it did allow some updates but now its insists that IE9 on IE is not downloaded when I can see it is and all the time I keep getting Error Codes 80073712 and 9C48 , I've attempted and failed on at least 21 times now and every time it looks like it may make it but then it fails.
They are all microsoft .net updates. I have tried the microsoftfixit tool and also tried repairing the .net file and then re downloading the updates after. But annoyingly they pop back up every time.
I am unable to download windows updates KB2524375 and KB9478321 for my windows 7 home premium. I have downloaded Hot Fix KB947821 but still get error. Log shows MUM 0X00F0900. Its seems that I have a registration problem but my windows was downloaded on my new acer computer. These are the only updates I have been unable to install.
The plan is to format win 7 and start from scratch again and would also like to know how i can find the appropriate patches after service pack 2Want to format win 7 and instal service/security patches from service pack 1/2 (can't remember what service pack came with my win 7). But i don't want to use my broadband (using pay as you go) and would like to facilitate a cafes broadband instead downloading it to usb drive and installing it when i get home.
After downloading the update I got this message when it started to install: [code] The Extended attributes are inconsistant.Am I going to have to reformat my hard drive?!
I've just put my Dell Studio back to factory settings after having it for two years and deciding to give it a rebirth. I maintain my laptop very well but always like to do a reset every so often.
The problem I'm having now is that the damn thing wont update from Windows Update. It will identify that there are 76 important or critical downloads, but hangs at 0% downloading.
I went to the MS catalogue and tried to download manually, but even though I had the updates selected in my basket, again, it just hung on 0%.
I've ran Kasperskys TDS, the Malicious Tool Removal MS thingy-ma-jig, ran an sfc check where it did note there were corrupt files but it couldn't fix them. The Fix It link to the MS Update Not Working thing found no problems either.
Interestingly, I've just reset and it's telling me the system had to be restarted to finish installing updates, but when you click on it for more info, there's no updates listed.

For a while now I have been experiencing a strange problem. My laptop keeps changing the Windows Updates without my consent. I know this has been raised in the past but my problem is slightly different.I prefer to choose "Check for updates but let me choose whether to download or install them", however periodically the settings change without my consent to "Never check for updates".This is very frustrating as I am constantly having to keep an eye on this, and change the settings back to what they were in order to receive critical updates, or indeed any other update. The laptop was bought new just under 12 months ago and came with Windows 7 Home Premium 64Bit pre-installed.Has anyone else experienced this, or can anyone advise on a fix?
My wifes computer has been acting up for about a week now. IE 8 is not loading properly and is crashing. I am unable to connect to MSE to get updates or to Windows to get updates. I have run Malwarebytes and Emsisoft and neither one can find a bug. Chrome works for a while and the she gets the AW SNAP message.
I did search out this problem...very old posts recommended I start a new thread. For the last 2 weeks every time I shut down automatic install...installs the same 8 updates.

Through two computer companies and XP and 7 can not get these updates. Had Microsoft, manufacturer and Verizon take over my computer but they could not fix it.Code says clock is wrong....it isn't.Microsoft associated company...Fix Cleaner...says myWindows Update Agent is outdated or missing. It has been about two years without updates. No problems, but would like to get it fixed
I am using Win7, that I bought about a year ago, It's an eMachine & I don't know the model number. Where do I find the model number? It won't let me download critical updates (for almost a week now), and keeps saying "Failure configuring Windows Reverting changes" and then it restarts and does the same thing all over again! Why can't I get my windows updates? This is driving me crazy and I'm afraid that one of the "failure to update... and reverting changes" is going to fry my PC, or worse, stop it from coming on at all!
I had a Vista home premium. I updated it to windows 7 premium. It is 32 bit. A lot of my updates have failed. I get code 800 b0100. I have looked it up on the net. I was wondering if I should put my discs in for the windows upgrade and run it thru again over the top of what I have... I also have win 7 64 bit on my network and it was original/ I have no problems with it. Barb aztzu has chosen the best answer to his/her question.Click here to view the answer that was selected.

Tryin to check for updates and it says no updates are available when I know there is because I don't even have SP1 on here yet (Just got it out of box) It installed updates, once, but now will not properly search when I ask it to "check for updates" it just lets the bar scroll once "checking for updattes" then says "no important updates are available.. I turned firewall off, still no luck..
After the most recent windows update, my .doc files now appear as .pdf when I click on the file, Adobe cannot open the file, as a quick fix, I save the file to my desktop as a .docx then open Word and open the document that way. What has to be done to make my .doc files able to open without these extra measures?
I have been trying for the past 3 nights to find a way to fix whatever is the reason for my latest windows updates continue to fail. There are 3 of them trying to be installed: KB2655992; KB2691442; KB2719985; I have tried the troublesshooting, added anti-malware, cleaned whatever I could or know how to clean and they still wont update.
