Through two computer companies and XP and 7 can not get these updates. Had Microsoft, manufacturer and Verizon take over my computer but they could not fix it.Code says clock is wrong....it isn't.Microsoft associated company...Fix Cleaner...says myWindows Update Agent is outdated or missing. It has been about two years without updates. No problems, but would like to get it fixed
For the past day windows wants to install the same 4 updates over and over, I have windows update set to download and let me choose when to install.
I can't understand why I even need them, as I uninstalled net framework. Notice how the update at 8:17 AM., KB2656368, is the same as one of the 4 updates installed at 7:47 PM. Windows wants to install the same four kb files again. How do I stop this?

For a while now I have been experiencing a strange problem. My laptop keeps changing the Windows Updates without my consent. I know this has been raised in the past but my problem is slightly different.I prefer to choose "Check for updates but let me choose whether to download or install them", however periodically the settings change without my consent to "Never check for updates".This is very frustrating as I am constantly having to keep an eye on this, and change the settings back to what they were in order to receive critical updates, or indeed any other update. The laptop was bought new just under 12 months ago and came with Windows 7 Home Premium 64Bit pre-installed.Has anyone else experienced this, or can anyone advise on a fix?
My wifes computer has been acting up for about a week now. IE 8 is not loading properly and is crashing. I am unable to connect to MSE to get updates or to Windows to get updates. I have run Malwarebytes and Emsisoft and neither one can find a bug. Chrome works for a while and the she gets the AW SNAP message.
I did search out this problem...very old posts recommended I start a new thread. For the last 2 weeks every time I shut down automatic install...installs the same 8 updates.
for 72 hours now im geting constant updates on windows update, windows even re instaled SP1 ...story goes my hdd broke down 3 days ago so i installed on a new hd win 7 home prem. x64 +sp1, since that time i had at least 5 hours of updates (inc. setup),funny thing is a friend did format on his pc today and we spend 3 hours updating (dont think he finished, instead he went to sleep) My q is (as stated above) is there a reason for the 34/72/4/3/2/1/silverlight new updates found????? did Windows 7 went unstable???its rly anoying (got some failed updates to)until 3 days ago i had no probs.
I am using Win7, that I bought about a year ago, It's an eMachine & I don't know the model number. Where do I find the model number? It won't let me download critical updates (for almost a week now), and keeps saying "Failure configuring Windows Reverting changes" and then it restarts and does the same thing all over again! Why can't I get my windows updates? This is driving me crazy and I'm afraid that one of the "failure to update... and reverting changes" is going to fry my PC, or worse, stop it from coming on at all!
I had a Vista home premium. I updated it to windows 7 premium. It is 32 bit. A lot of my updates have failed. I get code 800 b0100. I have looked it up on the net. I was wondering if I should put my discs in for the windows upgrade and run it thru again over the top of what I have... I also have win 7 64 bit on my network and it was original/ I have no problems with it. Barb aztzu has chosen the best answer to his/her question.Click here to view the answer that was selected.

Tryin to check for updates and it says no updates are available when I know there is because I don't even have SP1 on here yet (Just got it out of box) It installed updates, once, but now will not properly search when I ask it to "check for updates" it just lets the bar scroll once "checking for updattes" then says "no important updates are available.. I turned firewall off, still no luck..
After the most recent windows update, my .doc files now appear as .pdf when I click on the file, Adobe cannot open the file, as a quick fix, I save the file to my desktop as a .docx then open Word and open the document that way. What has to be done to make my .doc files able to open without these extra measures?
I have been trying for the past 3 nights to find a way to fix whatever is the reason for my latest windows updates continue to fail. There are 3 of them trying to be installed: KB2655992; KB2691442; KB2719985; I have tried the troublesshooting, added anti-malware, cleaned whatever I could or know how to clean and they still wont update.
Windows 7 - Service pack 1 Problem started 3 days ago. Updates are set to automatically download and install new ones. I keep getting Windows Update error 80073712 and while looking at the installed updates section in Control panel there are "No updates installed on this computer"
I did some reading and I tried some solutions with no luck: 1) Run System Update Readiness tool from Microsoft. 2) Run the System File Checker which could not run giving me a "Windows Resource Protection could not perform the requested operation" message
I also looked in my Windows/logs/CBS/CBS file and I found several errors with mainly " Failed to get CSI store"
Just got this new Acer aspire, windows 7 laptop and keep getting same error message when trying to install updates:' Windows update encountered an unknown error. 2 updates failed and were not installed - error codes 643 and 74F'.
I have been unable to get my windows updates since early September 2011.I have tried various fixes including MS fixit to no avail. Error code 80096001.
Ad our work we installed 10 new PC HP Z400 workstations with windows 7 64bits, we installed Office 2007 small business and Autocad 2011, Sophos anti virus.
After our install every thing seems to work fine computers are set in network and login to server windows 2003, get mail from exchange 2003. and get windows updates from the server 1 day in the week, for the updates we aprove in the windows update service on the server.
but some how the 10x 64bits windows 7 machines dont hold themselfs to update shedul from ones a week from the server, on the client you can't adjust the settings for updating because its locked from out the server but it will update every day if needed we have 3x 32bits windows 7 machines who dont have this problem, the rest of our machines run on windows XP.
the updating shedule isn't a big problem but every time we get an update the programs we use wont work any more they fail in starting up especialy Autocad and Office 2007 wont start Outlook starts up and runs but when we open an other mail then where the program starts in the program fails to work and we have to force it to close reboot the machine 1-5 times to get the programs working, after that it works perfect till a next update from windows
I've tried numerous times to try and update Windows Updates (trying to update on a new computer: Lenovo Thinkpad T530) but every time I shut it off, it says it's updating and it looks like it's doing fine but when I turn it says it's configuring Windows updates and it always gets stuck at the 15% mark and then says Windows updates failed, reverting changes. The error is: Error code 80071A9 I've tried Microsofts Fixits and the readiness update and all that stuff but it doesn't help at all. It's really bugging me now because this is the second or third time that my computer went to a black screen saying that it needs to check the disk (I can't remember the exact wording right now). It says the disk is fine every time but it still worries me to have this for the second/third time.
When I select updates to download it starts preparing for download, but does not download. Said something about internet connectivity. I have no problems with the internet, updates for programs regularly download, etc..On the failed downloads the error messages are: Codes: 643, 57, C355, 9. Updates either do not start to download at all or after about 20 minutes of preparing to download they will download and then fail.
I've tried installing certain ones, even some ones at a time, but the results are the same. Download complete. Please restart. But the update never happens and I don't get an error message.
Windows 7 updates have not been installing recently - All the latest set of updates that have been offered attempt to install and then they stop - I attempted to install one at a time but this is no help either
If this has been brought up, please move this post to the appropriate thread - a search on "Windows Updates" gives me results for virus infections.Does anyone know why there have been almost no new updates to Windows for over a month? The only ones I've seen are definition updates - otherwise, I've seen no updates whatsoever.
1.Is there a way to find out if this key is retail,OEM or MSDN?
2.In case that this key gets blocked from Microsoft, will i be notified by Microsoft?
3.In case my key gets blocked will i still beable to get updates and will my Microsoft Genuine logo will be still on my PC?
4.Is Microsoft will deactivate my licence?and i need to buy new one?I have just realise that the seller site is not that genuine, but i have already bought the key,so i think i learn my lesson.I just hope that the key they have provided me with is Genuine not some used key which will be blocked.
Where to start? Several weeks ago I installed a windows update & then my Bullguard firewall wouldn't start. I got remote assistance from Bullguard & they succesfully restarted my firewall.Since then I have permissions issues, I have tried changing my status from admin to standard but the standard option is greyed out. I have tried setting a new user account but that also will not let me apply any changes without a password which I don't have. Also when I go to All Programs this is empty? My other problem is my windows security updates faill to install ( error 8000ffff) I have looked at different solutions online & used microsoft fix it but all to no avail. I have 19 updates to install but they constantly come back with the same error.
Haven't used this computer for several months now. It's a bit sticky to start but it works. Problem occurred when opened a new web-page on the browser just after a Windows update of computer.

Trying to update manually today and keep getting a loop of blue screen death appears always at 32% of the configuring updates when re-starting up no matter how many updates are selected, which is about 40?? (100Mb) Can get round it by running safe mode w/networking then it takes 2 cycles to remove the previous updates, I can then use as normal.
over the past few days i have received windows 7 updates which are described as critical. when i turn on my laptop after receiving these updates, i receive a message of "system logon failed" or "preparing your desktop" if i do manage to log in. am i alone with these problems,
I was wondering if it would be possible to slipstream SP1 plus post-SP1 updates into an All in one Windows 7 ISO that includes all editions of Windows 7 x64 and x86 architectures.
