Windows 7 won't boot past logo. Will not repair when selected. Running in safe mode stops at Loaded:windowssystem32driversdisk.sys. Have tried to reload windows 7 and it says files are loading then comes back to the same point and locks at the windows logo.

I can't access system recovery or most of the advance boot options. I have tried using repair cds and install cds but the computer refuses to boot from cd drive my laptop is an hp model g61. I don't really know what other specs you need I have noticed it always stops when loading a certain driver atipcie.sys. The full error I get is: "Stop: c0000135 the program can't start because %hs is missing from your computer try reinstalling the program to fix the problem". I'm not even sure what that program is.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm having incredibly annoying issues with my windows starting up on my asus g73sw laptop. It wouldn't go past the windows logo screen. I thought my hard drive was probably shot, so I replaced it with a brand new solid state drive, fresh windows install. Worked perfect for one day, then the same problem. Tried completely fresh installs twice since then and never transferred any files at all in case they were corrupted. The computer will load now, but not before sitting on the windows logo screen for 5 minutes or more. I have checked the BIOS to make sure the solid state drive is boot option number 1.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just installed a new SSD and put a few programs on it. I boot windows XP from my current HDD. I also have a copy of windows 7 that has only been used once, so I was going to use another one of the installs from the disc for my computer. I wanted to put windows 7 on the new SSD, while leaving xp on the old HDD. I would then just make the SSD have boot priority, without having to worry about formatting the old HDD etc.
Well, when I put windows 7 in, and choose to boot from disc, it'll show the black screen where the loading bar goes to completion, then switches to a black screen where the colored balls form the windows logo, and finally the screen turns blue with some slight designs in the back (I believe it's the default windows 7 wallpaper). The mouse icon shows up, but that's it.
I can hear the disc stop spinning, and no additional windows pop up allowing me to complete installation and everything. I've reset all BIOS settings to default. I've tried making the SSD have boot priority over the HDD but it still freezes at the same spot. Everything I've done cause it to freeze at the same spot, actually. I've triple checked that all of my hardware is compatible with windows 7.
Alright I am running Windows 7 ultimate x64 on my newly built computer. My computer can successfully boot past the bios and get to the logo screen. Then I get to the Windows logo which is a hit or miss. Sometimes it will boot successfully and I will have no problems whatsoever and I can enjoy my computer without worrying about anything. Then sometimes it will get hung on the logo and it will just stop responding. I don't know if this is an issue with my HDD or maybe my power supply. I think that this may be a problem with my power supply because I notice that my keyboard LED turns of when it hangs like that. The only question then is "why is this not a consistent problem that I can isolate?"

View 5 Replies View RelatedMy mother's Toshiba laptop is less than a year old, and has been acting up lately. She doesn't download anything on it apart from windows updates, but she does have it set up to use a proxy server (through a legitimate service) so that she can watch her beloved BBC here in the U.S., which is mainly all she does on the computer. It suddenly started freezing/sticking on the blue welcome screen with the spinning circle when she tries to boot.(Sometimes it acts like it's doing something, sometimes it freezes. I left it for upwards of half on hour to see if it would finally get to the desktop, but it didn't.) I've tried starting it in safe mode with and without networking, to no avail. At one point, through logging in/waiting/closing the laptop/opening it again and such, I was able to "change user" and login, which did get me to the desktop. However, I wasn't able to do anything before it froze completely.Ctrl/Alt/Delete didn't help.
View 2 Replies View RelatedUpon start-up, two options are given: "Start Windows Normally" or "Launch Startup Repair (recommended)".If the Start Windows Normally option is chosen, then the starting windows screen comes up and stays. If I launch the startup repair option, then I still can not get the problem fixed.From the Startup Repair Screen however, I can launch command prompt and restore options,a restore is not really an option because I have not set up a restore point in a while.

I have had issues with system crashes (lockups, no blue screen, and no alt-tabbing out of them) almost from the beginning. Since I am impressed with some of the technical responses I have seen on threads in this forum, thought I'd reach out for help before I pull what hair I have left out.....
I tried literally every different bios update available, every single driver release Nvidia has released, too many clean windows installs to count, MSI Afterburner/EVGA Precision (video voltage increases, clock decreases (removing EVGA superclocking), replaced the SLI bridge, different ram, different powersupply cables, different fan speeds, and so many other things over the past 1.5 years it's rediculous.
In preparation for trashing the cards, I pulled them out and put my old cards back in. These are also EVGA brand, 8800's, also can run them in SLI with the same bridge, and not a single problem. This is while running the same driver release (clean install though) as the 580's.
So I put one 580 back in, both slots 1 & 3, and to my surprise it worked just fine in either PCI slot. Tried the other 580, also works fine when alone. Put them both in, put the bridge on, and it crashes right after Bios loads, before it even makes it to the windows logo/login screen.
Seems to have gotten worse over time (was just during intense gaming, next it's when in windows but not gaiming, sometimes at the Windows loading Logo, and sometimes even at bios load.)
Overheating? Temps are fine..even when stress testing with Kombuster/Furmark/Prime95/MEMTest/etc. temps get warm, up to 85 on CPU cores, and 75 on video card, but all tests are fine.
i am trying to install windows 7 ultimate, it's all legit.It worked fine during installation,but when it got to ( Completeing Installation )After the restart.it wouldnt load past windows 'starting windows'then it freezes on a black screen.it loaded in safe mode but got an error 'Installation Cannot complete in safe mode please restart and run windows normally.' but nothing happends normally.

The above 3 files exist in the directories asked for so not sure why it can't load them.Although the laptop works fine when it's loaded, the additional time on this blackscreen is just winding me up as it didn't do it before.
okay, so today when i tried to use my computer, the computer stops at the windows 7 welcome screen, after the user is selected. some things to note. i did connect a different primary drive and use this one as a secondary. it loaded just fine, so its something on the hard drive, second, the drive IS virus free, i ran a scan with it as a secondary. another thing to note is the computer does not freeze. it looks like its trying to load something, it turns black for a second then it turns back to the welcome screen for awhile, and repeat.
i am aware that this "should" be a problem relating to video drivers, however because i cannot boot the computer, i cannot install the new drivers.
another thing, i CANNOT boot into safe mode, same problem, i tried all options, no known restore points, and finally, the startup repair finds nothing wrong
2 days ago my Windows 7 x64 Home premium system worked fine. I woke up the next morning and It would not load past the "Starting Windows" screen. I have a stock ASUS Essentio series computer with 8 Gigs of ram a 320Gb Western Digital Hard drive and a 6 core intel processor.
I have tried so far:
I have removed the hard drive and replaced it with an older windows vista x64 drive I have. The Windows Vista drive booted right up with no problem.
I have Booted the computer with the Vista drive as the OS drive and the Windows 7 drive as a secondary hard drive. When I did that the Windows 7 drive showed up, all the files were there but the problem was I could not access any of the files under my user folder. (access permission or something) But it seems that this would show the hard drive is not fried.
I have tried restoring the drive to an earlier restore point but each restore point I try it says that it can not restore. I have tried the windows repair option and that freezes on "Loading windows files" I have even tried going into the bios and booting under different drive settings. Nothing.
By looking through this forum It appears that there is something wrong with my Windows 7 drive booting drivers maybe. Or possibly a system update that went wrong overnight and now the OS wont boot up. (or something else I could be completely wrong)
I dont know if this is posted in the right area but I'm so desperate to get my laptop working its unreal. First it started off with my laptop crashing, I had totally forgot it needed to do a windows update and turned off my laptop in hopes that it would work properly. After that my laptop has not been working. The machine turns on and gives me two options. Start windows normally or do a repair. Upon starting windows normally, it loads so far before sending me back to the two options of start windows normally or repair. On the second time I clicked repair. My laptop then goes so far before presenting me with a blue screen that is usually the screen where my accounts are. The cursor still moves but it loads no further even after leaving it an hour. I decided to make a repair disk, hoping that the problem was because of windows. the disk loads, gives me a choice on the keyboard language then does nothing. I honestly have no idea what to do, I want to keep all the files safe on my computer as I havent backed them up and I have worked so hard on the projects.

I have spent the last few days working on my friends Sony Vaio PCG-7184L(which by the way is not listed anywhere on sony's website). It runs windows 7 64bit and it freezes immediately after the Windows logo starts it's animation and there's about an inch of the top of the screen that is filled with weird colored lines. So I told him sure, I'll fix it, it's probably just a virus and should be fairly simple. I will list in sequence what I have done so far to diagnose/fix the issue. One more thing, it started doing this freeze up thing the same day he got it back from the Geek Squad at Best Buy, who were doing a simple update and cleaning from what my friend told me. Tried booting into safemode, froze, on hal.dll, with same colored lines at top of screen, Tried booting into ERD Commander 2k8 and froze at the same spot. Booted into Linux live CD and scanned for viruses with avast, there were none.

So I to to do safe mode but it don't work either. It gets stuck when it loading to drivers. So I tried to put in the windows 7 installation disk to try and reformat my hard drive, but even that gets hanged at the logo screen when it tries to boot up.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI recently built a new setup using two 350GB Western Digital SATA hard drives. They are raided and until today I've had no trouble with the computer at all. When turning my computer on it loads to the Windows logo (the pulsing coloured "squares" ) and after 10 seconds or so it reboots. When booting up it detects my raided drive however when I insert the Windows 7 cd to enter the repair menu it doesn't see the drive. What I mean is on the screen where you choose the OS to repair, it does not appear. It DOES appear, however, after inserting a USB device with my raid drivers on it and then locating them first. The trouble is, the first time I did this it detected my 700GB raid drive (or approx 630GB space). The second time, however, it only detected my old 200GB drive which I store music on. After switching to different SATA ports as suggested by another post I found on the net, I then encountered a 0xc000000F error which reads "0xc0000000f. Info: The boot selection failed because a required device is inaccessible". I tried doing a MBR repair but I don't think it worked.

Now it shuts off while watching a movie or even chatting on facebook and when i try to start it, it just shuts off on me during the windows 7 logo loading again. it gives me 2 options to boot from: normal, and repair mode. if i go normal it just shuts down. if i repair it not always but sometimes fixes the problem for an hour or 2. but sometimes it just shuts off again.I play this game of cat and mouse for about 4-5 tries and get it to load. it's like an old car. forgot to mention i also went from windows vista 32bit to windows 7 64bit and problem is still here my computer uses 4GB ram for hardware reserve which i don't mind. i tried to reset the bios from a backup and it still keeps screwing with me.

View 9 Replies View RelatedTried to start up the new build after it had been working for a few days and when I am loading Windows 7 64-bit, it will stop working at the GUI screen. Here's what I've tried to do ..
1. Use startup repair (won't get past that Windows screen).
2. Tried to startup with SSD as the main drive for a working computer, got a BSOD and quick restart following GUI boot.
3. Booting from CD drive, HDD, SSD separately. Disconnected each device to see how the computer would react and nothing was working.
4. I formatted the SSD on a different computer and then tried to install windows on the SSD with no other hard disk connected. Stalls at the GUI boot screen.
