Oct 5, 2012I am having trouble getting my vodaphone dongle for internet access on the road installed. My PC refuses to install the drivers properly. It worked fine but it has been about 9 months since I last used it. I have made sure I have the latest drivers downloaded from vodaphone and when I try the dongle in my sons laptop it installs and works fine. I thought I would uninstall the driver from device manager but when I try to do this it just sits there for hours. I have to end up closing device manager down using task manager. I am running Windows 7 on an HP G62 Notebook.

Mar 1, 2010I have an emu 1820m soundcard installed in my computer. It seems to be functioning perfectly. I can play dvd'd, cd's, iTunes, etc and the sound plays through my speakers without a problem. I want to record some sounds from a dvd but i cant get anything to record. Recording device is set to Wave EMU DSP as the default device. Im using Audacity to record and have set the recording preference device to be Wave (E-MU _-DSP). When I hit record I get an error 'Error while opening sound device. Please check the input device settings and the project template'And I cant record anything.In the built in Windows sound recorder, when I hit record, I get this error 'An audio recording device cannot be found' Everything seems to be functioning perfectly, yet i just cant record anything.

Aug 1, 2009How do i figure out what driver or even component windows wants software for when in the device manager under other devices it lists an unknown device and windows update cannot find anything.
Oh and is it appropriate for me to use this topic to ask another question regarding explorer.exe as while i am inside a folder i delete (by choosing delete from the context menu in the tree view) while inside that folder on this particular laptop PC explorer. always crashes, collect information, sends it and restarts explorer. I have not experienced this problem on any other pc running any version of windows 7, oh and the same happened with build 7264 x32 and the current install of build 7600 x64.
Windows 7 Usb Camera Device Shows Up In Device Manager But Not Computer
May 31, 2012Have recently purchased a small usb inspection snake camera with led light and when testing it plugged it into two desktops computers (one xp pro not sure of the other as it was a network work computer) It automatically loaded the drivers and brought up a screen automatically with the realtime image.(no driver disc came with it). However plugging into my windows 7 64bit sony laptop it signals a connection beep, loaded drivers automatically but wouldn't open or show up on my computer disc manager as an external usb source to click on. It does however show up on device manager as a usb camera and when I unplug and replug in it disappears and reappears so I know I have the right camera (not the lap top webcam inbuilt one that shows USB 2 Camera). Have tried updating drivers automatically and uninstalling it etc. Need it to work on the lap top so it can act as the movable screen for it?

Oct 23, 2011i cant install nvidia drivers " this graphics driver could not find compatible graphic hardware", and i can't see my nvidia card on the device manager, and can't get the hardware ID, it looks like my laptop doesn't have this graphic card installed.
my latop is: ASUS - K52JC
2 graphics card, intel shared, and separated nvidia ( 310m cuda - 1GB )

My problem is when I click Start, Control Panel, Programs and Features, I see ATI CATALYST Install Manager (3.0.710.0) and I can completely remove it but for ATI Catalyst Control Centre I can't even see it.
So now I�m stuck on what to do next because I don't want to install windows 7 if it recommends me to uninstall ATI Catalyst Control Center. What should I do?
Just to let you know: On the windows 7 compatibility center online I search software, ATI and it says both ati install manager and catalyst control center are compatible but when i run the upgrade advisor these programs appear. (as shown above)
Any ideas/comments will be much appreciated thank you.

ATI Catalyst control center is 2.0.0.0 shown in upgrade report.

Jan 2, 2013i have been trying to figure out how to fix this problem i have a blue tooth dongal and im trying to hook up my wii remote to my computer..the device is recognised and windows tells me its searching for drivers and the device will be ready when shown in device and printers. the device icon pops up so i no it installd but after a few seconds the icon is grayd out and the device just dosent respond ..

Well.... it doesn't cope at all.I have the dual boot screen when I start the laptop and the default is of course the last O/S system loaded. i.e. Windows 7.Unless I am quick enough to change the bootup, it tries to load Windows 7. And when I say tries, I mean 'tries'. Windows will load after about 20 minutes but is unusable. Nothing will respond. Nothing will function.I cannot change the boot sequence on XP.
