View 4 Replies View RelatedI just downloaded the newest version of Internet Explorer 9 Beta 64-bit. However, I'm a bit disappointed that I didn't find a spellchecker embedded into their new browser. I'm used to iespell in the 32-bit browser, but it does not load in the 64-bit browser. I like to use the spell checker at various times as I post on forums and other places and would like to have something "watching my back" as I type.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have been having some weird problems on my laptop. I first did a memtest using memtest86 4.0 and that came up clean. I am now doing a disk check and it was progressing fine till now. the screen says stage 5 of 5 97% (82135612 of 84678825 free clusters processed) for over and hour and the HDD light is no longer on. any advice as to what I should do? I have heard that forcing the system to reboot during a disk check can ruin your system so I don't want to do that.

I couldn't get OCSP revocation check to work on Windows 7. I installed my self-signed Root and Intermediate certificates (generated using openssl 0.9.8) on my Windows 7 machine. I then go to Internet Explorer and type in the [URL]. The port sends back a leaf certificate which has OCSP URL in the extension. And the leaf cert is revoked. I verified it using openssl ocsp -url http://xxx -issuer Ica.crt -cert leaf.crt -CAfile Root.crt.In IE, type in [URL]. It appears that it took some time (15 seconds) and come back with connection instead of revocation warning. Openssl OCSP responder log says "malformed request". If I ping the same from a Windows Vista machine, there is no problem. Is there a security patch that I need to install or some settings to flip to enable this check? BTW, I do have in IE/Tools/Internet options/Advanced/Security: "check for server certificate revocation" box checked.

I know there is a tool available to test my computer to see if it's capable of running Windows 7. My question is this: Is there a tool available that I can run on the server that will test all machines on my network? With the free Windows Upgrade Advisor, I must visit each computer. Just looking for a way to do this without visiting each computer.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have installed windows 7 x64, the installation went fine, it runs fine, no bsods, no crashes, no restarts, no freezes, no slowdown. Basically it just runs fine, all updates installed fine.
Now, I did a scan on the HDD, and it has bad sectors pending. I imaged the windows to another HDD.Loaded onto the other HDD, it boots fine, runs fine, idles fine, installed a few things, checked the files system, ran chkdsk ( just fix box, not the second box to repair ), all OK.So my question is, how can I know if the bad sectors on old HDD had any damage to the windows installation, and thus on the new HDD?
When my computer boots and after this black screen appear "One of your disks needs to be checked for consistency.
