I need sound to come out through my hdmi AND the headphone jack at the same time.Under playback devices I have AMD HDMI sound and Realtek High Definition audio. Both devices work when I check them - just cant get them both to work at the same time

I have USB speakers and today bought a USB headset. I can't seem to get them to both to work at the same time when plugged in. I usually like to keep the headphones around my neck while using the mic, but listen to my nice Bose speakers. When it gets to be late at night, just put the headphones on and turn off the speakers. Either way, the mic needs to work at both times.
They are both plugged into USB slots in the back of the computer.
I have an HDTV connected to my computer to serve as a monitor. I used an HDMI connection so therefore I get the computer's sound through the TV. I also have a 5.1 digital surround system that I use, connected through a Optical Digital Audio Cable.
Now my problem is, I can change between the 2 devices by going into "Playback Devices" (right clock the sound icon in the bottom right corner) and then setting either audio device as the "Default Device". However I want to play audio from both of them at once, that way I don't have to switch the settings everytime I decide to use surround sound.
Is there any simple way to do this? Or do I just have to resign myself to switching in between each time?
My specs are
Asus M5A97 motherboard
Asus Radeon HD 7850 graphics card with HDMI out (this is what my TV is connected to and gets Audio through)
Realtek HD Audio (onboard), I have both regular jacks and an Optical jack, I use the optical jack for my surround sound.
i have speakers connected to the hdmi and have a fm transmitter connected to the headphones jack. how do i get the soud to come out of both? Picture:
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been having this wierd problem since a few months now.Ever since I reactivated my onboard sound card (I needed to do this since my mic was making wierd noises in Skype) in BIOS one of my playback devices disconnects randomly from the list, but reappears after a restart.This is very annoying as I need that card to use the really good equalizer in my TV which makes my speakers sound great.I have three sounds cards: AMD High Definition Audio Device (From GPU, used for my speakers) <-- This is the one that disconnects ASUS Xonar Essence STX (For music production and headphone listening) SoundMAX Integrated Digital HD Audio (Used for microphone) Facts:
1. The sound card still appears and seems functional in Device Manager
2. The sound card still appears in Playback Devices, but in the "Disconnected Devices"-list
This is what I've tried:- Reinstalling drivers Deactivating/activating devices in Device Manager Installing older drivers I know my way around windows so there's no need to be beginner friendly, I'll ask if I don't understand.
Basically, every time i plug a USB device into my pc, be it mouse, keyboard, HDD or memory stick, the computer makes the normal 'dun dun' sound, but it then continues to make a 'dudududun' noise, occasionally continuous every 10 seconds or so.Is there a problem with the mobo, USB port, drivers or a combination of all 3. Should this be an issue i should wory about or not?

Each time there is a hassle to get it back running and sometimes it never finds a recording device although my laptop has a soundcard with stereo mix and an internal mic. I had both already working, recording from Stereo Mix and recording from Internal Mic., but I often have to re-estavblish a setting. Rt now although I select any recording device itll give me ano device found� warning. If I plaback a file everything works fine, but the Sound Recorder can�t record it today.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently went into my computer to install a Corsair H80 Water pump for the GPU. Anyhow, after i connected all the cables and turned on the computer again i did not have any sound. Even though im not an expert with computers, i'm pretty sure all the cables are connected right (but there is always a possibility i screwed up there).I do have sound devices, that is not the issue. After the first pc boot i had the Realtek digital output (realtek high definition audio) as the sound device. I went into the control panel and pressed sound. The previous audio device (that i had and was working) was there, but stated as "Not plugged in".So, my computer does not detect or react as i connect any headsets nor speakers. I also checked the audio in the mixer to see that it "plays sound" which i can confirm.I have searched the web for people with the same issues and tried a few "solutions" but none of them worked for me.They were:
1. Uninstall and reinstalling the drivers
2. Making sure i got the latest versions of the drivers
3. Turning on the front jack panel in the Realtek HD Audio Manager, which resulted with the speakers apparing to be connected and works according to the computer but still no sound.
4. Tried different speakers and headphones.
After trying several things im starting to believe it might be me who failed at connecting the computer. But if so i have no idea how to fix it, as it does not matter if i connect the audio cable instead of the HD audio cable or if i leave them unconnected.My os is Windows 7 Ultimate.I got an Intel motherbord DX58SO and my sound device/card is Realtek high definition audio?
i used to have vista on this computer and didn't have audio problems. i've upgraded to windows 7 and use the latest drivers available for my sound card (striker 7.1). i have also tried not using these drivers and instead using a usb sound card (sennheiser that comes with one of their headsets).
my problem is that, some time after booting up my computer, the audio starts skipping/glitching every ~30 seconds (if not more). this will usually happen with almost 100% frequency after the computer goes into sleep mode. a reboot fixes this for some time and then it starts over. this happens with all audio sources (moves in vlc, music in itunes, Internet, etc.)
currently i own a dell studio xps, running ms windows 7 home premium 64-bit sp1.i have the following playback devices, as listed by windows:the problem is that the sound only works with one application at a time, meaning, if i open itunes first, and then skype, only the sound on itunes will work. if i close both, then open skype first, and itunes second, then only the sound from skype can be heard. this has happened with every program so far, such as google chrome (watching a video on Internet), video games, and vlc media player. i've had this problem for as long as i can remember, as this computer is fairly new.i'm willing to divulge any more information required.

I have had this computer for about 6 months now, and its been great, but over time, despite antivirus/malware/disk cleanups. It just seems to be getting slower. I am at the point now where the audio sounds cracky, and even stutters, I cant play any games since there is a significant lag, as well as with streaming of any kind and Although I thought it may only be with the wifi, it is still limited with an Ethernet cable(the internet may be a separate problem). There was an incident nearly a month ago in which my system completely shut out. I couldn't open windows without safe mode or else I would get a windows error a few seconds after logging in. I was able to restore, but I feel things haven't been the same.

View 1 Replies View Relatedi'm running my sound through a line 6 kb37 interface and out through some studio monitors. however yesterday after having spotify on from 30 - 60mins the sound stopped, spotify crashed, i tried to restart and explorer.exe couldn't shutdown because it was stuck trying to play the logoff sound. i force restarted it and it turned into a bsod. today the same thing has happened after about 30mins of watching a film. the sound stopped and media player crashed. i tried to watch a Internet video after this and it wouldn't buffer it and crashed my browser. i checked my device manager and it said all my sound devices were working properly

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a xFI sound-card and every time I start my PC I have to reinstall the card's drivers. I have 2 pci slots on my board and an ATI pci express Radion. When I put the card in the other slot right next to the graphics card it works no problem what so ever accept it is blocking the graphics card fan and the GPU heat doubles so this is not acceptable.I have tried a audigy sound card in the slot and it works OK.

Does this mean that the sound card is fualty? I'm not sure exactly how a driver works but i'm thinking it would try to comunicate with the hardware it's intended for and if there is a problem with the hardware that might cause the driver to have a dificult time installing.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWe just built a computer yesterday and as we plugged in the speakers on the 7.1 audio on the motherboard, there was no sound! we checked control panel>hardware and sound>sound> and it says "no devices found". we downloaded sound drivers from "realtek", installed it, restarted, still a no go! but as we plugged in the usb headset, voila, there was sound! what we dont understand is why wont the 7.1 audio channel work on the motherboard?

I don't remember making any changes however, I just became unable to connect.I having done a little troubleshooting.1. I can connect to the shares of my Windows Home Server if I use the IP address. The name does not resolve.2. Flushed DNS and restarting DNS server. Flushing DNS works on one client, to allow browsing by the name & restarting DNS works on the other. However neither works after a restart.3. Only my Wifi clients are experiencing this issue. View 2 Replies View RelatedAbout a month after I started using it, the Say the Time clock program I bought stopped launching the management menu when I right click the date/time field in the task tray (notification area).
Therefore, I can't use or edit the program. Neither the touchpad nor the cordless mouse works.
Other than this problem, my computer works great. Every single item that's meant to be right clicked works for me.
Is there a way I can generate a log to show the software manufacturer (Provenio) that it's their problem and not mine? I am a novice user but I can follow instructions. However, I don't want to put my computer at risk if I make an entry error.
I've been using computers for 18 years and I've never had this problem until I bought this software and used it for about a month.
I just wanted a conclusive way of putting the ball back in the manufacturer's court.
I spilt some water on my laptop a few days ago but fortunately it's completely dried out and working perfectly.... apart from this minor (but important) issue.
Problem: the system time does not stay correct. Even after manually updating the BIOS time and also even after manually syncing it with the various servers available under the time options.
Fix: set the internet time sync interval to every minute rather than its default setting? How do I do this?
P.S. This couldn't be a CMOS battery issue surely because even when the system is on and plugged in the system time still deviates from correct. (I assume the CMOS battery is only used when the system is powered off.) If I need it replaced, how does that sit with my Dell hardware warranty?
So I bought a new desktop computer about 2 weeks ago and ever since I got it, it's been freezing (locking) up on me at random times. I currently use Windows 7 64-bit. I put in a new graphics card and new memory sticks just the other day and I got the same freezing problem. It's very random. I can be surfing the web and the next thing you know, the whole thing freezes up. I can't move the mouse. Can't do CTRL ALT DEL. Can't do anything. Seems as if the whole computer locks up. The only way to restart the computer is by manually holding in the power button for a few seconds. So since I replaced graphics card and installed new memory, I was thinking it may be something else causing this.

Mouse but mainly keyboard (both Microsoft) are not detected during the cold boot from time to time, i suspect the BIOS is the one to blame i have the latest version, what can i do?Both are USB.When i turn on the PC from time to time a long beep takes place and a message during posting (no keyboard detected).
