Basically, every time i plug a USB device into my pc, be it mouse, keyboard, HDD or memory stick, the computer makes the normal 'dun dun' sound, but it then continues to make a 'dudududun' noise, occasionally continuous every 10 seconds or so.Is there a problem with the mobo, USB port, drivers or a combination of all 3. Should this be an issue i should wory about or not?
I have USB speakers and today bought a USB headset. I can't seem to get them to both to work at the same time when plugged in. I usually like to keep the headphones around my neck while using the mic, but listen to my nice Bose speakers. When it gets to be late at night, just put the headphones on and turn off the speakers. Either way, the mic needs to work at both times.
They are both plugged into USB slots in the back of the computer.
This is a annoying loud continuous beeping sound. This happens after the boot diagnostics, at the point where windows should boot up. There is a cursor in the upper right corner, and that is all it does. This is a HP Pavilion Elite m9040n PC. It came with Windows Vista, and I am upgrading to Windows 7. I stupidly didn't run upgrade advisor, and am now regretting it.When I go to HP to find drivers, no Windows 7 drivers show up for this PC. Stupidly, again, I assumed this meant that they were packaged in with Windows 7.I don't think this is a hardware issue. It happens repeatedly at boot up, but when I put the installation CD in, the PC boots off the CD just fine. This probably doesn't eliminate any hard drive issues, but the PC wasn't showing any signs before, and the installation goes through without a hitch. Is this caused by not having compatible drivers? Are there computers that can't be upgraded? I do meet the minimum requirements. 2.4 Ghz, 3 GB Ram. What may I be missing?
I purchased a mouse keyboard combo that works as long as the computer is awake but when the computer sleeps the device will not wake up the computer. I believe it is because it its registered as an unknown device.
Here's what you need to do for both 32 bit and 64 bit Windows 7 systems:
- Download the 'Windows Mobile Device Center' ( current version is 6.1 ) which you can download it from url...this works for both Vista and Windows 7. I've tried it on both.
- Install the downloaded software but it may not look like it worked on Windows 7 PCs. Vista automatically configures the settings on the bluetooth devices but for those who have Windows 7, here are the things you should do:
- Go to 'Device Manager' from 'Control Panel' -Or- just right-click on Computer Icon and choose 'Properties' and then click on 'Device Manager'.
- You'll see an 'Unknown Device' named 'Bluetooth Peripheral Device'
- Right-Click it and click on "Update Driver Software" -Or- anyway you find it easy to bring up the Update driver window.
- Click "Browse My Computer for Driver Software" button.
- Click "Let Me Pick from a List of Device Drivers on my computer".
- Select 'Bluetooth Radio' from the list if it asked you to select and then in the next window, it will show a list of drivers with Company Names in one list and Drivers in another. In the Company List choose 'Microsoft Corporation', not only Microsoft.
- From the drivers list there may be one or more drivers with the name "Windows Mobile-Based Device Support" with different driver versions. Select one or the latest.
- Ignore any warnings and keep pressing next and then Finish at last. If all goes well, the last screen will show the message that device driver is successfully installed.
Now, after manually updating the driver for your bluetooth device, in 'Device Manager' when you click on 'Bluetooth Radios', it should display one more item which will say 'Windows Mobile-based device support'.There are few more things that you want to pay attention to. If you have already added the device in your 'bluetooth device list' that didn't work, then remove the device and add it again. After you add it, you might need to restart the computer if it gave you a connection problem error message. Every PCs that had Windows 7 and Vista worked after installing this software and I hope it will work for you too.
I've been having this wierd problem since a few months now.Ever since I reactivated my onboard sound card (I needed to do this since my mic was making wierd noises in Skype) in BIOS one of my playback devices disconnects randomly from the list, but reappears after a restart. This is very annoying as I need that card to use the really good equalizer in my TV which makes my speakers sound great.I have three sounds cards: AMD High Definition Audio Device (From GPU, used for my speakers) <-- This is the one that disconnects ASUS Xonar Essence STX (For music production and headphone listening) SoundMAX Integrated Digital HD Audio (Used for microphone) Facts:
1. The sound card still appears and seems functional in Device Manager
2. The sound card still appears in Playback Devices, but in the "Disconnected Devices"-list
This is what I've tried:- Reinstalling drivers Deactivating/activating devices in Device Manager Installing older drivers I know my way around windows so there's no need to be beginner friendly, I'll ask if I don't understand.
I need sound to come out through my hdmi AND the headphone jack at the same time.Under playback devices I have AMD HDMI sound and Realtek High Definition audio. Both devices work when I check them - just cant get them both to work at the same time
get my sound recorder reliably working. Each time there is a hassle to get it back running and sometimes it never finds a recording device although my laptop has a soundcard with stereo mix and an internal mic. I had both already working, recording from Stereo Mix and recording from Internal Mic., but I often have to re-estavblish a setting. Rt now although I select any recording device itll give me ano device found warning. If I plaback a file everything works fine, but the Sound Recorder cant record it today.
If I rename audio devices by the method indicated below, will there be any negative repercussions? I would assume that programs don't use those names to identify devices, but I want to double check.
I recently went into my computer to install a Corsair H80 Water pump for the GPU. Anyhow, after i connected all the cables and turned on the computer again i did not have any sound. Even though im not an expert with computers, i'm pretty sure all the cables are connected right (but there is always a possibility i screwed up there).I do have sound devices, that is not the issue. After the first pc boot i had the Realtek digital output (realtek high definition audio) as the sound device. I went into the control panel and pressed sound. The previous audio device (that i had and was working) was there, but stated as "Not plugged in".So, my computer does not detect or react as i connect any headsets nor speakers. I also checked the audio in the mixer to see that it "plays sound" which i can confirm.I have searched the web for people with the same issues and tried a few "solutions" but none of them worked for me.They were:
1. Uninstall and reinstalling the drivers 2. Making sure i got the latest versions of the drivers 3. Turning on the front jack panel in the Realtek HD Audio Manager, which resulted with the speakers apparing to be connected and works according to the computer but still no sound. 4. Tried different speakers and headphones.
After trying several things im starting to believe it might be me who failed at connecting the computer. But if so i have no idea how to fix it, as it does not matter if i connect the audio cable instead of the HD audio cable or if i leave them unconnected. My os is Windows 7 Ultimate.I got an Intel motherbord DX58SO and my sound device/card is Realtek high definition audio?
My right speaker is busted, only my left speaker works. On my dual boot Windows XP, I could move all of my sound to my left speaker, but on Windows 7, I see no way to do this.
Is there a way to do it on Windows 7? Or maybe a program is needed to intercept the sound to make it go to the left speaker?
I somehow experience a problem that my heaphones (small ones), which work properly on my mobile, produce sound when connected to laptop only from the right headphone. The left one isn't reacting to tests as well.
I'm one of those who just doesn't care for nearly any system sound, no matter how engineered or cool-sounding, and I really hate it that every time I change my desktop, my sound profile is changed back to a Microsoft default. I have my personal, minimalistic, profile saved, so I can pick it fairly easily, but having to take the extra step each time is a real step backwards for me functionally.
Are there any registry edits I could do make my own sound profile sticky?
I have a HP Presario CQ 60, the noise just started along with freezing up. I had the fan replaced a mt. ago, it just started today. It sounds like a deep hum almost a buzz that last 4sec. and stops then restarts, stops etc. I new to computers & I'm truly confused. Do I Ignore it?
I'm streaming a movie, and the sound is so low, I have all of the volumes maxed out and can barely hear it still. How to get more sound? Settings or a piece of software?
ok, so i talk to best buy and what they said is that theoreticaly it would work to just take the negitive and positive leads, connect resistors and LEDs... good to go, but without a series of switchs, when i crank the volume it would blow the resistors and leds. the guy i talked to said hes done it and it would be too hard to do as a one man job, but obviously it works for some people online without needing all the switches, so what will work for me. i calculated the max voltage for my speaker system is 120 volts, so if i resisted that much, wouldnt it still work, if the max is 120, turning the volume up wouldnt put it past 120 volts. so why would it blow? radio shack advised me to go to a car sterio installer and see what they say. one thing geek squad mention is that one of them a while back bought some sound activated leds from NewEgg that plug directly into the sound card audio out and are like a third party device that just bypasses the audio but reads the signal and plays the leds to the tune. speaker modding im trying to do to give me some clear cut directions on how to do it. i know these things are really hard somtimes to do because they are so individualized but accentually what i need is for someone to make me a blue print of sort. i need clear cut verry defined reasoning behind why things are done a certain way. what they are protecting me against. and how it would turn out if i follow step by step. i hate when people are vague, it leads to screw ups so.
We just built a computer yesterday and as we plugged in the speakers on the 7.1 audio on the motherboard, there was no sound! we checked control panel>hardware and sound>sound> and it says "no devices found". we downloaded sound drivers from "realtek", installed it, restarted, still a no go! but as we plugged in the usb headset, voila, there was sound! what we dont understand is why wont the 7.1 audio channel work on the motherboard?
I have been unable to connect to anything on my wired network, for about the last week. I don't remember making any changes however, I just became unable to connect.I having done a little troubleshooting.1. I can connect to the shares of my Windows Home Server if I use the IP address. The name does not resolve.2. Flushed DNS and restarting DNS server. Flushing DNS works on one client, to allow browsing by the name & restarting DNS works on the other. However neither works after a restart.3. Only my Wifi clients are experiencing this issue. My wired clients, desktops, PS3, Xbox 360, and Boxee can connect perfectly. This issue is not limited to my server. I can't connect to shares on my desktop, nor print to my wired printer. Some network background:I have DSL through CenturyLink and have a Linksys E2000 router.
I'm running on a Windows 7 32 bit system, self built. Before I go into explain all of the details, here are my computer specs..My computer has been crashing a lot recently. It never use to happen, it just started within the past month or so. It's not a BSOD, there's no error, no warning.. Just black. When I start up, it's like nothing ever happened. But it's really annoying, whenever I begin to render a video, it crashes almost every time. It also stopped a few times while I was trying to play games and record, but I have recorded in the past. My computer use to be at it's prime but I don't know what changed. I could really use some advice to fix this. Any suggestions would help, I'm really wanting to render up all the footage I have.I do a lot of video game recording on my PC, I use the program bandicam. Also, my PC doesn't seem to be suffering from overheating, as the hard drive stays cool when it crashes.I keep about 50gb free space open on my computer to avoid extra errors.
Everytime I start the computer in the normal way I get a bsod about 1-2 seconds after the desktop appears (after I log in) and the system crashes. When I then start the computer in the safe mode it does not instantly give me another bsod, but even in the safe mode I have gotten a bsod. I actually downloaded the exe file from the posting guide and while running that for the first time it actually crashed in safe mode again.
I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit.Its the original OS.It is not an OEM version I think.. I did not order this computer, it was done for me. I'm pretty sure its retail, but at the moment I can not ask this to the person who ordered the computer for me.The computer is tomorrow 1 week old. (yes I managed to crash it in a week)The OS was installed 7-8 days ago, I'm not sure of that but its more then 7 days and less then 14 days for sure. Can ask if its important, but again not at this moment? When trying to do the system health report as stated in the guide (perfmon /report), it gives me a viewer stating that the system cannot find the path.
If I restart my laptop, on the BIOS (i guess?),it will ask me to choose OS, which there's only 1 option (Windows 7).After that, the laptop will beep contionuously, short continuous beep to be exact.Nothing weird happens, except the beeps. And if I boot my laptop normally, it won't beep. From what I've searched, I assumed that it's RAM's problemBut, it will only beep if I restart the laptop.
I up graded my lifebook to Windows 7 and have been blown away, so much so that I decided I would kill two birds with one stone with my old Toshiba.
It is an M40 Satellite with a 56GB HD, 1,66mhz processor and 1GB Ram,
I managed to clear enough space to install windows 7 (I have been unable too as it was configure to run on a server I no longer have)
The installation went well, or at least it looked as though it did, since the install and the last reboot in the installation proccess it has been in a continuous boot cycle, it comes back with a 'windows error' recovery.
I have tried starting it in every mode available and I still have nothing. I have tried a reinstall with both XP and Windows 7 and setting the Bios to boot from the DVD Rom.
I have eve gone as far as to get DBAN Nukem to clear the HD and still it will not recognise anything from the DVD Rom.
Have anyaone had a similar experience and can anyone shed any light? I am getting close to tossing it in the trash!.
i am getting lately often chkdsk launching on boot and also when i use it to check the situation on the reported partitions (at least two physical drives so far) it reports errors almost on every run even if sometimes they are like 10 minutes after the previous "scan and fix errors" .... Surface / sectors tests and WD diagnostics tool scan (all drives are WD) are coming up clean ...What's the deal here? Doesn't look like the drives need to be replaced right? one especially is like two weeks old
1. i had a problem with google that redirected me to advertisements whenever I searched.
2. i booted the computer into safe mode and ran malwarebytes and bitdefender to scan my computer and i just let the programs do their thing.
3. upon restarting my computer after the scan my laptop was stuck in a continuous loop.
4. i tried every setting after pressing f8 such as safe mode, safe mode with networking, etc. and everytime i can't get past the boot up.
5. finally i try "disable automatic restart on system failure" and then it leads me to the BSOD and it says
STOP: c0000135 The program can't start because %hs is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem I saw several posts about this but a few of the answers scared me by saying something to the effect of "this will only work with this user, don't try it with your computer" Just to reiterate i can't even get into safe mode and so have no clue how i'm going to follow your procedures. i also misplaced all discs that my laptop came with edit. I have a Dell Inspiron N5010?
When doing wipe and reloads of windows on customers computers one of the most time consuming things are doing all the windows updates. Is there a way to run windows updates non stop until it is finished with all the updates?
