View 3 Replies View RelatedI've got a Compaq Presario CQ61, Windows 7 SP1 installed, fully patched. I've got no sound from internal speakers and headphone jacks. I've uninstalled drivers and re-installed, I've used DriverMax to find drivers as well, uninstalled and reinstalled. No luck. Thats what's showing in my Device Manager. Volume Control is not muted, and maxed out for volume, and there is movement when clicking on the volume control just no sound.
View 3 Replies View RelatedOne day my sound was working fine, and then after spending a long day of sound editing (with headphones in) sound suddenly stopped working from the internal speakers. Sound works from my headphones when they are plugged in but not my speakers and drivers are working properly. Now, here is the odd thing... whenever I change the volume for the 'Independant Headphones' from the sound panel, the sound works fine from the speakers with no problem for about 2-3 seconds! The default is currently set to 'Speakers and Headphones'. I have tried unplugging and replugging headphones to make sure the jack switch is reset in both slots, still no luck!

View 1 Replies View RelatedBasically my problem is at random times, my headset will just stop working and it will switch back to my laptop, as if my headphones are not even plugged in. It happens multiple times a day, seemingly at random (lately its been this way, but I have had it go longer than a day without doing this to me). As I am browsing the internet, as I am turning on a game, when I am away and the computer is just sitting there.
I've tried checking my device manager for differences when it is working and when it is not, I've tried updating all software, I've tried setting default devices. None of it has helped.
The only thing that fixes this is logging off, or restarting the computer. This then returns it to normal. My laptop is an HP Pavilion dv6 windows 7 home premium x64. Headphones in question are Razor Carcharias.
My laptop is 5 months old ,it is hpdv6 3079tx. My laptop got i7 processor with win 7 64 bit. Currently I am facing a problem with my laptop. The sound is not coming out from the in built speakers as headphone is working very well. The sound from in built speakers last for just 2 to 3 mint and then goes off.

I have tried to update/re-install the drivers without any luck. I have also tried system recovery and still no sound. The latest software that I have installed is Adobe Production premium 5.5 and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.
I have checked the playback settings and the only device showing is Sony-tv 1. I also checked for deactivated and disconnected devices but still only Sony-tv.

I plugged in headphones and they work fine, i never had a problem in Vista. I have install the latest Realtek 223 codecs and still no joy, I'm in the middle of trying some older versions but does anyone else have any ideas?
I have a Gateway model MD2614U laptop os Windows 7 home 32bit. When I unplug the headphones to use the internal speakers sometimes the laptop will switch over and sometimes it won't. When it won't switch over. I open the volumes control window and I can see the green bar going up and down with the audio source but there is no sound coming out. I have to end up closing down the program that is producing the sound then the switch over will complete and I restart the program. I also have the same problem when I plug the headphones back in, again no sound from the headphones even though I see the green bar moving. Also some programs that send and receive audio over the internet will lock up when I unplug or plug in ether the headphones and or the microphone.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Dell M1330 laptop purchased some years ago which is currently running Windows 7. Despite my latest attempts to correct the audio problem, it still persists. My internal speakers are the only ones affected by this problem. When I plug external speakers into my computer they work just fine. The problem doesn't change depending on what type of audio or video I am running. I have run the windows 7 integrated driver updating software and it has said that all of my audio drivers are up to date.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a Dell XPS M1330 laptop and have recently upgraded to windows 7 professional (32bit) from windows vista. Everything seems to be running smoothly except I can get no sound from the internal laptop speakers. When I plug in external speakers in via the jacks on the front, sound comes through fine, but as soon as I unplug them there is nothing. Headphones also work like this too. Under sounds in device manager, it simply says 'High Definition Audio Device', and I'm not sure if I should be downloading some other drivers?

How's internal clock running on time w/o battery?
I have 4 internal HDDs and have had this setup for about 2 months now. I had to reformat my computer this week and have since been having a problem with my hard drives. While I am browsing folders and occasionally even using programs, my HDDs will seize up for around 5-10 seconds. One of the drives starts to make some loading noises and then eventually they begin to work again. While this is happening I can usually use the GUI that is loaded and most things loaded into RAM, however I cannot access the HDD for anything new.One of the internal drives was originally an external drive, the Seagate FreeAgent 500GB. I suspect it may be the culprit here. I was having this exact same problem before with it; whenever I'd plug it in through USB, even if accessing another drive, I'd have the computer seize up and have to wait for it to finish making similar sounding loading noises. Removing it from the case and plugging it in internally fixed the issue completely, until I reformatted this week. I have checked all the cache options for the drives and they are all set the same; default which is just the top option checked off. I did this as I suspected that the Seagate drive is set with the same cache options as it did when external, but it's not the case.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI had an issue recently where I upgraded from OEM Vista x86 to Windows 7 Professional x86. There was very little sound coming from the internal speakers. I also had major BSODs from then, so obviously I was focusing my attention on the BSODs as a priority. That issue has been resolved, however, or, at least, I implemented a workaround - reinstalling Vista. I no longer have BSODs. The audio, however, is still extremely quiet. I've checked the following:
- Went into properties and maximised the 'levels' on everything.
- Went into volume mixer and maxed everything.
- Went into Devmgmt.msc and tried updating drivers - drivers already up-to-date.
I have two internal speakers as well as what I guess is a subwoofer (I'm terrible with hardware - its icon looks like a box server or something. I'm currently at work so I'll upload screenshots when I get home). Only one speaker plays at a time. I can change between the speakers by right clicking and saying "set as default speaker" and that plays sound out of one at a time with no problems, unless I choose the subwoofer(?). Is there a way to make both speakers play at the same time, instead of just using one of them?
I have two audio jacks in the back of my computer. I just bought a headset today and no sound is coming through them and I just want to be able to play sound through the speakers and the headset at the same time. I'm using windows 7.
