I just did a clean install on my laptop and I am wondering if there is a quick and easy service to hunt down the necessary drivers i need, versus browsing the toshiba website for hours. I do have access to the internet on the computer because I have the wlan adapter driver installed.
For work I am going to be reformatting all the laptops before resale. Now downloading all the updates is very frustrating, but I have been advised to use a piece of software called Macrium Reflect, which basically copies the complete hard drive, so you have a perfect back up.
So my plan is to make a fresh install of windows, update Windows fully, and them make an exact image of that hard drive. What I then plan to do, is install this copy onto all the laptops (Using the unique windows key), which basically saves me wasting hours per laptop updating.
My problem is, when you format a laptop, some drivers are already installed, where others are not. I do not know exactly what determines why some drivers are already installed and some are not, but anyway, if I took the complete image of the hard drive, of lets say a Toshiba laptop, then put all that data on to an Acer laptop for example, would I get conflict between already installed drivers?
By this, I would not install any manually downloaded drivers onto the Toshiba until after the image is taken, meaning the only drivers moved between laptops are the pre-installed ones
My Realtek sound drivers keep on uninstalling themselves. I will install the drivers and I will then reboot as I says too, I reboot and they are there, if I boot the computer down and boot it back up the same day they are fine, no problems. But the next day when I go to boot up the pc I have no sound what so ever, I noticed that I have a HDMI Audio Driver, I disabled this and the problem went away for a few days.
I installed my new graphicscard yesterday (XFX GeForce GTS 250) and when Windows 7 booted, it automatically started downloading drivers -without my approval- (probably my own fault for not having UAC on) before I even had time to mount the driver CD.
It turns out those drivers were most likely wrong, I still don't have OpenGL support and there is no settings program for the card. So... I have no idea of where to find my drivers and delete them so I can install the one from my CD. I've tried, I found my old drivers but I can't find the ones Windows installed. I can't even run the Setup.exe in the CD, it just loads and nothing happens. Yes, I have tried RAA. UAC is always down to zero.
Where can I find the drivers Windows 7 Home Premium Edition installed?
I connected my Casio LK-215 via USB. Widndows won't find drivers automatically so i tried to get ones from Casio but they aren't for 64 bit Windows. So i downloaded some M-Audio drivers and installed them but in device manager it shows red exclamation mark and when it's connected and i try to play after a while it just freezes.
I have a new monitor, and also a new USB to RS 2343 converter cable that both came with a CD that apparently has Drivers for the devices on them.
They don't start automatically in auto-play to load, and my reading of the file labels in the CD makes no sense to me.
So, with the CD in the drive just sitting there, what do I do to actually get the PC to recognize the Drivers in the Folder(s), and load them in the appropriate places ?
I have a Dell XPS M1730 with Windows 7 Ultimate and it was doing an iTunes update and the lid got closed during the update process. Now when I start the computer up it says "the user profile service service failed the login, user profile cannot be loaded". The computer starts up in safe mode and won't let me do a system restore because it says it is shut off. When I look at User Profiles in Windows 7, it states that the users profile is as backup and the default profile is the local profile. How can I fix my computer to get my user profile back up and working?
When you boot you get the login screen, click login, then instantly displayed with this message:"User Profile Service service failed the login.User Profile cannot be located."You cannot log into windows normally or in safe mode, I don't use the PC as its someone else's so I don't have any other information as they don't know either they just turned it off and this is what happened when they turned it on.
I've tried going into regedit and changing the RefCount to 0 and restarting but it keeps going back to 2 - it was at 3 originally but keeps reverting to 2 when I restart.
when i try to create a new user profile ~ with or without a password, it shows up on the main login page, but when i click on it to open, the message "UserProfileService_service failed the logon_user profile cannot be loaded". i have searched microsoft support with little solutions listed. and the ones that are listed seem too technical for me to be trying on my own. there are many posts there with this problem, but they all seem to be several years old.
i am using windows 7. i have never been able to create any accounts other than my administrator account & the one account i use for all my general computer use. i have been using norton 360 with no problems. i have resorted to just using any "log in/log out' links on all the sites my husband wants to use.i am really not all that confident doing anything super technical to fix this, since i don't have a real understanding of different extensions or types of files. i am afraid i could really mess everything up really bad. but, it would just be SO MUCH EASIER & FASTER if i had my account & my husband had his own account.
My wife's Dell desktop (after a nighttime thunderstorm) will not permit her to log on. When she enters the password she gets the following message: "The User Profile Service service failed the logon. User profile cannot be loaded". Has anyone encountered this issue and is there a user fix, or should we take the computer back to where it was bought for service?
I have a problem with my pc with win 7 ultimate installed.Sometimes my pc is normal, but when i opened some applications it'll be turned off by itself (not restart).Previously, before i moved my pc to a new house by plane, this pc can opened many applications without automatically shutting down by itself. However, after my pc arrived in my new house, this trouble seems to be appeared. I think that some applications are too heavy for my pc to run.(even previously it could run many applications).
Always get that screen asking you key in your password at log on? This tutorial will show you how to disable that log-on screen and automatically log on to Windows.

I recently purchased a ssd and I was curious if there was a way to have my computer automatically shut down after so many minutes of non use? From what I've read I could schedule it in the task scheduler, but I'm not looking for a certain time for it to shut down. Maybe a third party program?
I started using duel montors and I was getting tired of my OS restarting automatically when I am not home or away for a small amount of time. I saw a video on how to stop this from happening by disabling the restarting feature for windows when the PC crashes. But I am not sure if this is going to hurt my PC.
The power saving sleep mode does not automatically "kick in" as scheduled using the power option menu in the control panel. I am running Windows 7 Professional 64 bit operating system.
whenever i delay before clicking, the settings on my win7 decide for me, such as delete, etc. This is dangerous. I would like to know if there is a way, when you start up your PC, so that windows would log you in automatically without you having to click on your user account everytime. There surely must be some registry fix/tweak for that? Security is not an issue for me, don't use a password anyways.
I seemed to have this blue screen error coming up since yesterday morning, i have no idea whats triggering it, but everytime i left the pc to idle, it automatically shut down and a blue screen with many white commands prompted up. my os system is windows 7 home premium 64 bit.
I have an Asus Eee PC Seashell series and I'm trying to find a way to get my netbook to turn on everyday at a set time and open up a webpage like weather.com. It would be nice to be greeted by my netbook with the daily weather when I wake up. How can I set my netbook so that it turns on/wakes up at a certain time while opening a website as well?
I have discovered a new problem with my nextar mp3.When I put in a new battery in my mp3 it automatically gets a system error. I tried deleting the files it gave but it didn't work.
I have my extremely precious photos and videos in one folder of a secondary HD.
When I make changes to the folder on my 2nd HD I would like it to automatically sync up a copy of the folder on my 3rd HD. Can anyone recommend a solution?
I would like to avoid me having to manually make a copy of the folder and copy it to my 3rd HD or always have to make changes to both folders.
