View 2 RepliesI would like to know if there is a way, when you start up your PC, so that windows would log you in automatically without you having to click on your user account everytime. There surely must be some registry fix/tweak for that? Security is not an issue for me, don't use a password anyways.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a new Desktop with Windows 7. After I start the computer and leave it running for a while, (10 to 15min), it will automatically revert to the password screen. Also it won't go to screen saver. I have the screensaver set to not require password after waking. Also I have my power settings set to high performance. Also i have my Nic card configured so that it isn't allowed to be turned off.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIn the past week i have had problem staying connected through WLM. When i first boot up computer and log into WLM Ver:14.0.8117.416 it tells me if i have any emails and i go to the inbox and check them. After about 1/2 mins windows Live Messenger signd itself out. If i go to sign in the sign in window pops up and i enter detais but the WLM icon on the taskbar says i am logged in but then if i click on inbox a window opens but it wont connect to hotmail its just a blank IE page. The only way i have kept logged in is when i first log on i open hotmail and then i have to keep that webpage open all the time if not WLM logs off. A few days before this happened i lost connection to my Sky broadband for 2/3 hours and i rebooted the router and all was good. I have done Spybot, Malwarebytes, SuperAntiSpyware and Microsoft Security and they all came back ok.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am not sure if this problem is due to networking or security issue so just posted in this General discussion section.
These 2 days my Windows 7 Build 7232 got a problem that there is an alert message to show "I/O Error 103" when logged into Windows. I check in TECHNET support site and know it was due to "Cannot connect to the registry on site server X in site Y.".
The iso file of the Build 7232 was scanned with Kaspersky and found without malware nor virus.
what my password is to log in. The only account I can get into is the guest account. I have tried using NT Password & Registry Editor and it says password has been changed but when I try logging in it still says wrong pw. Also I notice this completely took off the option to log into my account I created it was not listed on the log in screen until I did a restore from a repair disc I created. But that obviously did not help the password problem.I am running Win 7 Home Premium on a Gateway ID49C07u. If there is a way to completely restore the computer back to factory instead of finding the password this is no problem.
View 9 Replies View RelatedYesterday laptop with Windows 7 has been properly closed, and today after running a complete lack of desktop. The black background and nothing more. Works only task manager and cmd. Safe mode starts up properly. I tried to selectively disable the service take off, I checked the correctness of system files (sfc), chkdsk scanned, restored the system state, repairing the system from the installer, but still the same effect. MHDD does not show anything suspicious and logs OTL, which results in the Annex. Issue the command with cmd explorer.exe does not work. When you call the command iexplore or other associated with the control panel everything works. Sometimes this happens with all the icons appear and then disappear, and only remains the sidebar.

View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter I login my computer freezes. My mouse works but it looks like the CPU is thinking. Sometimes I can start in safe mode but others it freezes on the black screen as it is loading. When I stArt in safe mode everything seems to work fine. I have run a virus scan (avg free) and another with eset online scanner and deleted/quarantined found threats. I am running windows 7 premium 64bit.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have multiple issues that have all cropped up in the past few days. I will try to list as much as I can and as much as I remember doing.I have Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit running on a Toshiba Satellite L500-1WG. I have had no apparent problems until now. I used to run Kaspersky internet security (free package from online banking) but it wouldn't allow some facebook games to run so I disabled it and used Avast. Avast found a virus in a temp folder upon first quick scan (Win32:Malware-gen) and transferred it to the virus chest on 23.02.11 with a 'last changed' date of 21.12.2010 (was it on there that long and not found by Kaspersky?!?!)Anyway, all good until a boot time scan on 10.05.11 (first one I had run after figuring out what it was) and it found 2 viruses that I hit delete on rather than move to chest - Java:Agent-DI [Trj] and Java:Jade-A [Heur] both in LocalLow Java cache folders. Since then I have had nothing but problems, although I think my trying to do bits and pieces may have had a hand in it too.
I turned Kaspersky back on to do a scan and it didn't find anything except an android rooting thing that it deleted (downloaded but unused). I also tried Malwarebytes after seeing so many recommendations and it has found nothing (I disabled the other antiviruses as I know I had too many but not sure if that is enough or should they have been uninstalled completely?). My Event Viewer has LOTS of errors, warnings and possibly worrying information logs and then I tried turning off some unnecessary start up programmes. I think that is all I have done...When I tried turning it on the other day it kept stalling and freezing and so I turned it off for a day or so. Yesterday I turned it on, it started up fine to the log on screen and once I entered my password I got a black screen with only the cursor. It stayed like this. Today I tried again and it was the same. A few hours later I tried again and after about 5 mins of black screen it loaded up but the wireless wouldn't work. I started it in safe mode and it starts fine. I set it to start up in normal mode and it started but was running extremely slow.
I took my computer completely apart to clean it, put it all back together, fresh install of win 7 and now its giving me issues. when booting, it will hang right after the windows logo pops up, or it will let me login, then after a while either freeze, or the screen will go black and i will have to hit the reset button. it will either have me boot normally or go through the startup repair, that does nothing.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI built my computer about 1.5 years ago and I've never had a problem with it until yesterday. When I was playing a computer game my Windows 7 Ultimate x86 froze for 1 sec (during that 1 sec the display on screen turns all "glitchy"). Imminently after the Blue Screen pops up and I have typed out what the it says beblow. Now everytime I start up my computer and log into windows (my computer takes a little longer than usual to boot up now) the computer shuts off 5-10 minutes and shows the blue screen again.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI keep getting BSODs when using this computer. Often it would crash right after logging into windows and this is fairly consistent. Other times, it would crash while using windows. I am using an SSD with a HDD as a mass storage.
View 9 Replies View RelatedWhen I tried logging in this morning I got a BSOD saying "PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA". It kept happening after rebooting so I used system restore and that went away. But then I got a BSOD saying "a clock interrupt was not received on the secondary processor". This happens either right when I log in, or within about 10 minutes. I've been in safe mode for about an hour and it's been okay. I ran memtest86 for a few hours but there were no errors. I also cleared the CMOS.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI get a black screen after logging in.
The only thing on the screen is (happily) the Start button and my gadgets.
No desktop Icons, No taskbar, no wallpaper.
Had this with the Windows 7 driver. Windows update suggested the Nividea drivers which I installed. No help.
Current workaround: Change screen resolution to anything... everything comes back... I don't accept the change in resolution.. all stays on screen.
So just enoying but very curious what could cause this.

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I recently added a new system running x86 windows 7 to the network, and when I log out or shut down using a local account, everything works as it should. If I log on to one of the user domain accounts, however, these actions don't work. Instead, the start menu and icons disappear and I'm left with the desktop background indefinitely.Unplugging the network cable and plugging it back in then makes the system proceed to regular log out / shut down procedures, but I'm not sure why... Any ideas on some setting that is mis-set?Also, this only seems to happen the first time I attempt to log out or shut down since the last reboot. So, if I log in to a domain account and try to log out, it will do this "freeze". Then, I unplug the network cable and plug it back in, and then the system logs out of the account. If I then log back in and try to log out again, it will work fine. But if I reboot the machine, the problem returns.
