IE 9 - When I click onto link, after a search, the link comes up with a different web site and not as the link indicates. I am forced into a web site not as indicated. My Grandson's computer is doing the same now.

However, i cannot seem to log into newegg at all. when i enter my username and password it just goes back to the home page without logging in. I tried it on firefox, IE, and chrome. Ive read that firefox sometimes has this problem but im experiencing this problem with all my browsers.
View 7 Replies View RelatedIn the past week i have had problem staying connected through WLM. When i first boot up computer and log into WLM Ver:14.0.8117.416 it tells me if i have any emails and i go to the inbox and check them. After about 1/2 mins windows Live Messenger signd itself out. If i go to sign in the sign in window pops up and i enter detais but the WLM icon on the taskbar says i am logged in but then if i click on inbox a window opens but it wont connect to hotmail its just a blank IE page. The only way i have kept logged in is when i first log on i open hotmail and then i have to keep that webpage open all the time if not WLM logs off. A few days before this happened i lost connection to my Sky broadband for 2/3 hours and i rebooted the router and all was good. I have done Spybot, Malwarebytes, SuperAntiSpyware and Microsoft Security and they all came back ok.

These 2 days my Windows 7 Build 7232 got a problem that there is an alert message to show "I/O Error 103" when logged into Windows. I check in TECHNET support site and know it was due to "Cannot connect to the registry on site server X in site Y.".
The iso file of the Build 7232 was scanned with Kaspersky and found without malware nor virus.
what my password is to log in. The only account I can get into is the guest account. I have tried using NT Password & Registry Editor and it says password has been changed but when I try logging in it still says wrong pw. Also I notice this completely took off the option to log into my account I created it was not listed on the log in screen until I did a restore from a repair disc I created.But that obviously did not help the password problem.I am running Win 7 Home Premium on a Gateway ID49C07u. If there is a way to completely restore the computer back to factory instead of finding the password this is no problem.
View 9 Replies View RelatedYesterday laptop with Windows 7 has been properly closed, and today after running a complete lack of desktop. The black background and nothing more. Works only task manager and cmd. Safe mode starts up properly. I tried to selectively disable the service take off, I checked the correctness of system files (sfc), chkdsk scanned, restored the system state, repairing the system from the installer, but still the same effect. MHDD does not show anything suspicious and logs OTL, which results in the Annex. Issue the command with cmd explorer.exe does not work. When you call the command iexplore or other associated with the control panel everything works. Sometimes this happens with all the icons appear and then disappear, and only remains the sidebar.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI was talking to some friends over skype when i needed to log out and my mic was fine there were no problems with it. i logged out and when i logged back in and called a friend up on skype he could not hear me talking the only thing he could hear was a loud static noise. i went to configure the settings but it said i tried everything and it would still make the noise. i tried plugging in a brand new mic that has never been used before i took it out of the packaging and plugged it in and still the same problem.

For example, I can load Find a Local Business,Ratings, Reviews, Deals | Angie's List, but not https://my.angieslist.com/angieslist/login.aspx.I have switched from automatic DNS lookup to fixed DNS, but that makes no difference.the same problem is experienced with Firefox, Opera, and IE. I called Angies List and they do not have any issues ie, they were able to log into my account.
View 9 Replies View RelatedAcer All In One computer with IE 8 and Windows 7. Some web sites load fine but others don't come up. Tried Firefox and no difference. Had similar issue with previous computer and used Windows Transfer to move evrything off that to new Acer. Seems to be getting worse. Use Qwest DSL hard connection. Can VPN to work ccomputer and bring up the web sites that won't load locally. Have tries variuos scans and nothing is found. For instance can get into US Bank site and Vanguard, but not Tax Act or Fidelity.

Some times they will take a couple refreshes to load, sometimes they will load in HTML after a long time, and some don't load at all. Sometimes a website will work fine, but then not load the next day. It's starting to really piss me off, especially since it affects such websites as:
- SoundCloud
- Twitch.tv
- Justin.tv
- The Escapist
- Facebook (occasionally)
- Many more!
As far as I can tell, this all started a few months ago. My internet spontaneously stopped working. I called my ISP (TelstraClear NZ), and the operator did some troubleshooting. Eventually the problem just seemed to fix itself after I unplugged and replugged my modem; I guess it reset my connection.I have a SURFBoard modem and a Netgear wireless router.The things I've done to try fix are:
- Changing my DNS servers - many times
- Using a different OS/computer
- Using a different browser
- Pinging the servers of stuck websites. Often I can't reach them with a ping
- Turning off/unplugging my modem and router
- Plugging my modem directly into the computer
I'm at my wit's end as to what the problem is. Everything i can see suggests that this is a DNS problem - the seemingly arbitrary times websites won't work, my inability to ping them, the random assortment of affected websites. The only other thing that would make sense to me is that it is my ISP causing the problem - but only for my connection.
I am having trouble loading certain websites in all browsers. I keep getting messages that say the connection timed out. Certain websites like google and hotmail will load. others like wikipedia will not. yahoo.com loads sometimes and not at others. I called my ISP and they say I have malware. I do not understand how they know this. I have run a scan using malwarebytes and no malicious items were detected

Some websites work fine, and my computer still seems to be very fast, however other sites will not load. Also certain photos in facebook and other sites will not load. View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a client that has 9 work stations hardwired and 3 laptops wireless and 1 server hard wired and none of them can connect to 2 specific websites. The workstations are running Windows 7 Pro 64bit, laptops are Windows XP Pro and the server is Windows Server 2008 Standard R2 64bit. They were all able to open the 2 sites last Friday and now they cannot. I can ping and trace rout the IP address of the 2 sites and get no loss but if I ping/trace rout the site name it will not work. I know it�s not the sites that are having the problem because I can open it on my cell phone. But when I hook up my phone to their wireless I cannot open the site. If I put a static DNS IP of their ISP on the computers then I am able to connect to the 2 sites. I called there ISP and they said something must of changed in there network but I check all there settings and nothing has changed. I have never seen this before and am at a loss of what to do.

Sometimes I can start in safe mode but others it freezes on the black screen as it is loading. When I stArt in safe mode everything seems to work fine. I have run a virus scan (avg free) and another with eset online scanner and deleted/quarantined found threats. I am running windows 7 premium 64bit.
