I started using duel montors and I was getting tired of my OS restarting automatically when I am not home or away for a small amount of time. I saw a video on how to stop this from happening by disabling the restarting feature for windows when the PC crashes. But I am not sure if this is going to hurt my PC.
why why PC restarts from hibernationautomatically, I put it into hiber before I went out and when I came back 4 hours later it was all booted up and running
hey messed around with the computer and got the printer to work for a few days then it stopped working again. We decided to buy a new printer from HP thinking that would solve our problems. So I uninstalled the old software for the first printer and tried to install the new software for the new printer. I thought it would be an easy process but it didnt work so we once again had to call HP and ask them to set it up for us. Anyway, we got the printer working and that's where our trouble started. So I woke up the next morning and fired up the computer. It said that the computer did not shut down properly due to a driver and and went into the start-up repair process. After 5 min or so the computer was back to normally and working. As the days have gone by we keep having problems with the computer shutting down after long periods of non-use and saying that the computer didnt start up properly. And now the start-up repair has failed and says that start-up repair cannot repair the problem automatically. I get this response.I am thinking this problem may have been caused when I uninstalled the old software or installed the new software for the printer or its possible that we may have a virus
My HP EliteBook8560w keeps restarting when I try to shut it down. It shuts all the way down, all the lights go off and then it restarts and fires up again.
sometimes when I restart my computer I get BSOD. Sometimes the computer starts up fine, and crashes on desktop. It never crashed when playing games (Crysis, BF3, etc).I have Windows 7 x64 the computer has a little more than 2 years. I am not sure what's the age of the OS installation but I would say that it has around 6 mounths.
My computer has recently started to restart its self intermittently without any warning or blue screen.I have updated my nividia driver and now it happens less(every half hour instead of every 5 minutes.
Since couple of weeks ago my computer started shutting down unexpectedly which it was OK with me since it wasn't doing it often and I was able to use my computer... My issue now is that now my PC is restarting itself, sometime it lets me get to the desktop but now its just restarting when it get to the "starting windows" screen. I was able to get into the PC today again and it gave me time to go into windows and grab the "minidump" file.
I am new here and ive read some solutions about this prob, but still, i cant solve this, it is still restarting.my windows explorer keeps on restarting
my hp laptop keeps restarting over and over. I see my window 7 blue screen but another window show up scanning and it say restore system. I don't know what to do. I have done everything that it keeps asking to do and nothing happens.
When I restart, the computer simply just goes black after the blue screen says Windows shutting down. I have to physically press the restart button on my case
I HAVE INSTALLED WINDOWS 7 TO MY COMPUTER.IN STARTING IT PERFORMED BETTER.AFTER AFEW DAYS WITHOUT COMMANDING IT IS RESTARTING ITSELF FOR 8minutes 20 seconds EXACTLY.
my laptop vaio vpceb1sfx always restarts again and again. i have to preess enter key all the time to make the windows sarts but when it does start i can not drag and grab my files?
I wanted to format my pc so i tryed to download windows 7 ultimate because i didnt had the cd. After I opened the setup and I installed the new windows. Showed up the menu that normally shows up when you install a new windows, then it deleted my files, and I set the time and that stuff and the computer restarted. After the restart didnt showed up the bar to put my password and directly entred the user and the pc started to restart over and over again.
my computer restarts without any pattern/reason that i could think off.
This has been going on generally for months.
This is a new computer that was bought in the end of September and it came with this problem when I bought it.
Was bought with windows xp, which was upgraded to vista and then to windows 7.
None of the operating system upgrades helped, but for a few months changing the graphics card did.
A few weeks back the restarts started again and just changing the graphic card this time didn't help. It went as bad as restarting once per minute. PER MINUTE.
The automatic restarts have been turned off.
This computer has been to the repairs more then my old one did in 5 years.
The next thing we will change is the motherboard.
Computer hasn't restarted in a hour so far, but each time I try to call someone on skype it ...lets me be on the call for a few minutes... and then restarts.
It restarts when I try to play world of warcraft, movies and what not. It sounds like the graphic card, but it's not. That's just today.
It started all over again a few weeks ago, then my dear repair guy reinstalled some drivers and it worked for a week. System restores don't work, but it doesn't make me stop trying.
I have ran every possible virus scan I can think of.
Reinstalled every program.
All kinds of system repairs.
I'm down to thinking it's either the power or system updates.
This is a rain of terror and It doesn't have a pattern.
I have windows 7 ultimate and my computer keeps restarting. everytime i turn it on it says "Windows has encountered a problem and will be restarting in one minuite" normally i can reslove problems like this but i dont have tiem to do anything on the computer since it restarts it in one minuite.
Everytime I switch on my Acer 5740 Laptop, after it reaches the POST screen displaying the Acer logo and Setup (F2) and Boot Selection Menu (F12) the laptop restarts over and over again and never stops. It has only been doing this since i installed a new program, after i installed it a blue screen appeared saying "STOP", and a bunch of other text but I couldnt make out what it said as the screen disappeared so fast. It is probably the work of a virus of some sort.I have already tried to boot from my recovery discs, but after the restoring the OS to factory settings, the same restart loop happens again. I cannot even access safe mode as it immediately restarts after displaying the acer logo. But I am however able to access the BIOS setup (f2) and the boot selection menu (f12). I know for certain that I have no hardware problems as the system was working perfectly with no errors up until I ran the program and feel that this may be the work of a virus. Here are the details of my Acer Aspire 5740 laptop that I have acquired via the Setup menu:
CPU Type: Intel (R) Core(TM) i5 CPU M 430 @ 2.27GHz CPU Speed: 2260 Mhz IDE0 Model Name : WDC WD6400BEVT-22AORTO-(S1) IDE0 Serial Number: WD-WXF0AB957752 ATAPI Model Name: Slimtype BD E DS4E1S
my computer has fu;; version of windows 7 it keeps freezing then restarting and goes right thru start windows normal and then when it starts it does it again over and over it does it i havent put any new programmes or hardware for it to do this.
pentium dual core cpu E5499 @2.70 ghz 2.69 ghz ram 2.00 gb system type 32 bit operating system c: 148 gb
A laptop of mine contracted a virus, and installed a fake antivirus program. I was able to uninstall the fake antivirus, but now I have another problem. Every time I turn on / restart the laptop, I get the message "Windows has encountered a critical problem and will restart automatically in one minute, please save your work now". The laptop then restarts, ad infinitum. Now, having done a quick google search, I see lots of reccommendations involving either going into Safe Mode or using the Advanced Boot Options. Problem is, I can't get the F8 menu screen to come up on the problem laptop. I have another laptop of the exact same model - this one is uninfected and I can get the F8 menu up just fine, so it's nothing to do with me mis-timing pushing the button. I have tried going into Safe Mode via the Boot options in msconfig, but alas I get the same error message in Safe Mode, too, and again my computer is forced to restart.
I recently built a computer with the following specs
[code]...
I know that this subject has been brought up a few times, but nothing seems to work for me. My power supply is a Corsair 650w, is that the problem? The person who sold me the parts told me that it should work.I have checked the software and it does not seem like the problem. My computer restarts every hour or so, there is no warning before the restart nor any thing after the restart, its really starting to annoy me.
My computer is randomly restarting and I'm not sure what the problem is. It has happened throughout the year but it stopped for a really long time, about 7 months, and now it is starting to do it again. [code]
I recently upgraded our old computer from Windows XP to Windows 7 Professional. It wouldn't boot from the CD to install for some strange reason so I put the hard drive in my computer and installed it from there. After it installed, I put the HDD back into the old computer and tried to boot it. Everything works fine until it says "Starting Windows". After displaying that message for about 5 seconds it restarts and brings up the choice: Run diagnostics (recommended)Start Windows normally If I choose to start normally, the same thing happens and it restarts again. If I run diagnostics it says the issue cannot be automatically repaired. The strange thing is that it will boot perfectly fine on my computer (if I put the HDD in), but cannot boot on the old one. Also, the same Windows 7 works on my computer.
so my computer is starting to randomly restart and I'm not sure why. I thought it was my video card and switched to the integrated video card and pulled out my other one and I still get it. I tried a memtest and got no errors also.no heating issues at all. speedfan showed nothing overheating. ( I have 4 fans installed) now the problem I'm wondering is a MB short or the PSU. I tried enabling BSOD but it just reboots. it just started happening today.
It started about a week ago and it is currently happening mabye once or twice a day. Some times it can go 8 hours without restarting. Or it will restart 10 minutes after turning it on.I wasnt getting any error msgs or anything, It doesnt freeze or no blue screen. Just shuts off and restarts. I unchecked the restart automatically button and last time it crashed the screen froze and made a constant beeping sound (more of a crashing beeping sound I guess). no errors popped up though. Is there a way to check the crash log so i can see an error msg or somthing?I Downloaded Everest to check my CPU's temp and it stays under 65 C. Other than this my laptop runs fine. I took out the ram seperatly and re seated it and tried running the computer and it worked fine with both ram sticks. I blew out the dust from the fan/vent a few days ago. I got a lot of dust out and its cooler but seems like its crashing more often tbh
My computer is spontaneously restarting, it seems to correlate with playing games.I use a 32' Samsung TV plugged into my GPU by a HDMI cable, my monitor commonly displays the resolution when switching to a game, this is usually the point in which the computer restarts. Here are my specs:
GPU: GeForce GTX 560 TI CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 925 Processor - Quad Core @ 2.8 Ghz RAM: 4.096 GB DDR3 Motherboard: Asus
IE is always restarting while I'm on google chrome. I think it may be because there was this thing called connectify what I was downloading and it asked to download IE and I accidentally clicked the box and so I cancelled it?
