I found this game I used to play a very long time ago. So I found it as torrent and downloaded it. But when I press the install.exe file it says that "This version of this file is not compatible with the Windows-version you're using. Check your computers systeminformation if you need an x86 or x64 version (32 bit and 64 bit) of the program."

View 4 Replies View RelatedI've installed 64bit version of windows 7 for first time ever,and I see that I have 2 Program Files folders in C partition(beside Program files in D partition ),Program Files 32bit&Program Files 64bit.
Is that normal,or maybe I have messed up something when I was making another partition.
And another question,if that is alright,then I'm suposed to install 32bit programs in Program Files 32bit folder,and 64bit programs in other folder,or Windows 7 do it by default?
i recently downloaded a patch for this game (an unofficial one) and when i came to install it i get an error telling me that "this program is not compilable with your version of windows please contact the vendor for the correct version of the program (32bit or 64bit)" I've never encountered this problem before and as far as i know 32 bit programs should work on 64 bit OSes just fine (i have windows 7 ultimate 64 bit btw)i just want to know have you guys ever encountered such an error? how did you solve it/get past it?

The company has changed some programs that are 32 bit which I have downloaded to XP. Will the 2 systems work together or will I need to access the company from the XP side? - No program in the program list
- Control panel/programs and Features/Turn windows features on and off/print document services/ticked fax and scan, OK restart.
Still no joy. Is it possible it is not in my windows 7 64 program?
Trying to install a program on win7 (64bit) and it says:
"The following error occured on the file "c:windowssysWOW64odbc32.dll"
Access is denied.
(0x5)"
I have admin rights to this comp and I am running the install as an admin. The only thing I can think of is another program is using this .dll and making the install think its a read only. However I don't know how to find out what programs use what .dll's.
1. If I have a primarily single threaded 32 bit application that I want to run multiple instances of on a Win 7 64 bit machine...in order to take advantage of throughput on 2xquad core cpu's
a. Will each instance of the 32 bit application be limited to 2GB of 32 bit addressable memory?
b. Will the total memory available to all of the running 32 bit applications be only 3.25GB or will a machine with say 64GB of memory parse out 32 2GB partitions to 32 unique windows of an application?
2. If the application has driver interfaces only certified in Windows XP (and not functioning in Win 7 (32 or 64 bit)), what is the impact of question 1 above on running multiple instances of the same application in XP SP3 compatibility mode (e.g. are there additional memory/graphic limits imposed)?
I was away from my computer on saturday and when i returned it had restarted itself. I don't know if it installed updates or just crashed, i can't find any reccord of updates. Since then i can not open any 32 bit programs.
I can not install anything, when i try i get the error "The windows installer service could not be accessed. This can occur if the windows installer is not correctly installed. contact your support personel for assitance."
I also can not uninstall anyhing, i can inly access uninstall utility in safemode but it still will not let me uninstall anything i've tried running sfc/scannow several times along with chkdsk, both found nothing.
I did a system restore also with no change. Booting into safemode doesn't change anything.
CAN'T FIND WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER OR KNOW IF I EVER HAD IT IN WINDOW 7 HOME PREM 64 BIT. CAN'T FIND A DOWNLOAD FOR IT EVEN THOUGH MANY SIGHTS SAY IT'S FREE

The splash screen will show for a few milliseconds, then disappear, and nothing will happen.My old computer had Windows 7 Home 64bit, and I could run the same copy of 3D Studio Max 32bit easily.3D Studio Max 2009 64bit runs perfectly, just not the 32bit version (both installed at the same time). I absolutely need to use the 32bit version because I have to use a custom exporter / plugin that only works with the 32bit 3DSM.
This is a clean install of Windows 7 Ultimate.

So now I am going to upgrade the wife's laptop. It is a HP Pavilion zv6270us. It has a Athlon 64 3500+ at 2.0GHz with 2GB DDR PC2700 Cl 2.5 333mhz memory. I dual booted Win 7 RC 64bit to test and had a few driver problems since HP won't support this unit for Win 7.
I was able to use some Vista drivers with a hack to get the sound working. Only thing not working is the Fax Modem which I never use. We use the laptop for E-Mail, Web browsing and wife is addicted to "Bejeweled 2" which runs fine under Win 7 64.
I was thinking of installing Win 7 32bit and wondering if 64bit was worth the effort as far as bootup time and performance. I was thinking 32bit might have better drivers and might even perform better.
i bought a new laptop (toshiba t130) and as such windows 7 came pre-installed on the laptop and so i have no disk!
when i turned on the laptop for the first time the setup came up asking me to select between 32-bit and 64-bit. i decided that i needed to do some more research on the matter so i cancelled the setup.
however, the next time i turned it on windows 7 automatically setup the 32-bit version!!

I have a Toshiba laptop, that always freezes randomly. It worked fine up until about a week ago... I can't do anything, I start a program or a game, or open the internet and it freezes usually within five minutes. I can't do anything to fix it, like move the mouse or press control alt delete.
