View 4 RepliesI can't login in Guest user. My administrator account is working properly and without any problems, but my guest account doesn't. When I login to that account then its automatically logging off and coming back to the login Screen.I created standard user, but anyway I can't login there. When I click the icon it automatically logs off.

Teamview freezes the session when that happens and doesnt allow for info to be put in until that window is closed by the user. How can you get around this? It also does not show the window waiting for a username and password to be entered only the user see's it not me.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI want to set up a new user account, and I would like to limit it so that the new user can only see and write to a single folder. I do not want them to be able to view what else is on the machine, and I would like to be able to easily check how much space they are using etc. additionally I have a SSD and a hard disc, with windows installed to the SSD, but I would like the new user to be restricted to only the hard disc. Is this possible, and if so how can it be done.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have 10 pcs on a LAN workgroup. They are mixed Windows 7 and xp. I have set the file sharing, net discovery etc on win 7 on and password protection, firewall off. They all have user accounts like pc1, pc2,...pc10 and I have also created the account of the pc I want to access the restricted folder to the pc that shares it.I have set the ownerships on Windows 7 machines too. I can access the folders on XP machines from the Windows 7 successfully. When I try to set a user-restricted shared folder to a Windows 7 pc and access it from XP I fail. It says that I do not have sufficient rights to access the folder, contact the network admin. I can only access to the folder by setting it available to "everyone" or "guest" read/write but that s not what I want.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI want to create a user account in Windows 7 in which the user should only be able to use internet explorer. I also want to disable access to other hard drive partitions for that user. How do I do that? Alternatively, is there any way by which I can make Windows require the user to give administrator authorization to delete, move or copy a file/folder by another user on the system. I am not talking about shared folders.

View 0 Replies View RelatedOn my Win 7 Pro x64 laptop I have my primary account as an admin, it requires a password to access. The BIOS is password protected as well. I have a laptop tracking software on the machine but it can only send out a signal if it is able to get online, so locking the machine down entirely seems like it would be a problem in recovering it. I read about "Guest Mode" that was available in Windows 7 beta's, but not in the final release. I would like to create a "Guest Account" which will require no password to sign on but will also provide the user with very VERY restricted access.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a laptop (Core2Duo) at this stage it is four years old, I'd like to squeeze another two more years out of it, maybe 2.5. I was planning on doing the last upgrade I could for this laptop which is the HDD, currently has a 5400 (320 GB) it's a larger HDD, but slow. The manual states that the max size I can put in this Laptop is a 128 Gig SSD, the problem is cramming the Windows partition into a 128 Gig SSD. Any reason I can't put in a 240 gig ?
Don't ask about accessing the BIOS, you can't, I've researched and the only thing I can change is the boot order, if you wanted to boot from a DVD instead of a HDD. It is a good laptop, I still love it, just heavy but I can throw quite a bit at it, compared to the laptops sold today which some seem to be on an equal plane to mine.
my computer is upgraded from Vista to 7. I am getting a device manager restricted error.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am not quite sure what to call the print but it is NOT what I am viewing that prints. It seems to happen now only in credit card sites and Paypal. Not for pdf but when I click on printable version it is now like 8 or more pages of small print. I noticed when trying to access a file going through the security tab info, I came across the Access of Control menu which came up with a warning to click here for restricted content and it seemed more like from the help center. That is the same type of print that seems to be printing instead of what is on the screen. Could this be something to do with permissions security type thing that has changed for some reason? It has been doing this for a couple of weeks now. Not sure if it is a Windows 7 issue or where to post this thread.

p.s.
2x flash at the login screen
1x flash at main menu screen

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've been working on the administrator account for more than 2 years, left it as it was yesterday. When I came back my account was assigned with guest authorization instead of administrator's. While I was working on my administrator account I disabled Super Administrator account and therefore now I am unable to log into it. My little brother account is just another guest account. So as far as I know there are two guests accounts somehow, 0 administrator accounts, and 1 super administrator account which is disabled. How can I restore my account to its previous settings? (If I try to do anything which requires administrator's level authorization it asks for password but it never works, which means that it has been changed or i do not know where can I type it in).

View 3 Replies View RelatedIs it possible with the non-Windows 7 machine's shares set to something besides "guest access allowed"? I've tried a few tweaks on my Windows 7 desktop and my Kubuntu 11.04 Linux-running laptop. Nothing has worked. Unless access to a shared directory is set to guest on the laptop, the Windows box keeps asking for a legitimate password, whenever I attempt to 'open' them.
Both machines have the same log-in strings for both basic log-on and Samba. Or do they? I'm presuming there's no separate logon/password required for Windows 7 Home Premium when it comes to file sharing, but as a late Windows XP Professional user (both SP2 and SP3), I'm not taking anything wholly for granted. Any Windows build since the dawn of XP that installs without gpedit.msc is bound to be lacking in other ways, imco.
Someone had come on and turned an admin account and locked it and the only other account to log into is the guest. The guest cant do ANYTHING with out permission so im stuck. Im trying to either over ride the admin account or delete it. I have tried the user net administrator /Active: yes but it always askes permission. During the F8 during boot, my only choices are the locked account or the guest. I need to get rid of that damn locked account. what do i do? I also dont have any OS discs and somebody whiped the Factory settings data so no formatting at all. I cant even system restore the computer
