a serious disruption caused me to have to reinstall windows 7 again, but the old windows 7 copy(windows.old) was saved. however, the outlook 2007 contacts and e-mails were never saved, so now, how can i retrieve the e-mails and contacts?
View 3 RepliesIs it at all possible to hide the Downloads, Links, Favorites, Searches, Videos, Saved Games, and Contacts folders (just the folder, not contents)? I've tried just hiding it like any other folder but it won't work.AND if possible, have explorer open in my home folder instead of libraries.
PS: I tried disabling libraries entirely, but it opens to My Documents instead of my home folder.
can windows 7 contacts integrate with outlook contacts. if not they should.

I go to my contacts and see if they are there they are NOT there, it says "None of your contacts has an email defined" My contacts are under User My User Name Contacts so I'm not sure if this is even right.

Our club is growing and I am concerned about hitting the allowed limits, especially now that I am trying to transition from using an email client to using web-based Windows Live Mail.Before I commit to it, does anyone know the maximum allowed limits for emails in WLM?
1. How many contact addresses are allowed in a single email?
2. How many contacts can I email in a single day, or per hour?
3. If I send out 2 emails to the same 300 people, does that count as 300 or as 600?
4. Are there any other limits I should be aware of?
5. What happens if I go over the limit?
6. Can I be allowed a higher limit if I can demonstrate I am sending out legitimate emails to people who want these messages from me (i.e. that I am not a spammer)?
Just installed MS Office 2010 and set it up so I can use my Yahoo! email.The Drafts folder and the Sent Items folder aren't taking their contents over from Yahoo to Outlook.
View 3 Replies View RelatedIt's probably my fault since most things are. Yesterday I had trouble sending email. I looked in the add-ins and saw the COM addin for Microsoft Hotmail connector. Well, I couldn't find where to delete it and so I went to c:\Progra~2\common~1\system\msmapi\msncon32.dll and deleted that. I did a bad thing, didn't I? This morning my Personal Folder in Outlook Contacts, is gone.
How can I get it back?
I did a system restore but the Personal Folder in Contacts Outlook 2007 is not there. The add-in is.

This backup can then be backed up so in the event of me losing data any saved emails etc. can be recovered.The problem I am having is archiving and then backing up my contacts in Outlook. I know how to create a single backup of my contacts in Outlook, but I cant get the contacts folder to archive on a schedule. View 2 Replies View RelatedI used to use Outlook with Vista. Within Outlook before I did a clean install of Windows 7 I saved all my existing emails and address books. I saved them to disk.
I did a clean/custom install of Windows 7 from a upgrade disk. I now have installed Thuderbird and have in up and running with my emails accounts. But now needs to Import my old Outlook emails and address books from DISK into Thunderbird.
As I go into Import in Thunderbird and choose import from file it is not findingmy files on disk or letting me inport from my disk. The other options are import from Outlook, which I no longer have since I did a clean install.
I do have Vista in my C drive as an "old" OS file. get the emails and address imported into Thunderbird from my disk file.
I have Windows 7 64-bit pro with Outlook 2010 installed on a Dell laptop. Is there a way to configure Outlook email to sync with my work email? Activesync works perfectly on my phone so that portion of the network is open at my work. I have been doing some reaserch and in order to get Outlook to sync with Exchange Server without VPN, RPC over HTTP or Outlook Anywhere must be enabled on the network. I know for a fact that our IT department have that portion disabled.

I backed up my files before installing Windows 7, and have an "Outlook Express" folder. However, I can't figure out how to import the contacts I had saved in my address book in Outlook. The Outlook files are in .dbx format, so I am unable to open them.
Does anyone know how I can even access the files so I can see my contacts and copy them down? Importing them would be ideal, but I'll take whatever I can get.

As above, if a user opens say a Word document which is an attachment on a web-based mail system like hotmail or outlook live and the user then just clicks SAVE, the document is saved to a temporary location.
We have lots of users who are doing this and then finding that they have lost there work etc as they have assumed it was saving to a network drive or even back to the attachment (yes I know thats wrong, but students don't always know till its too late).
So my question is, is there any way of getting Word to prompt them to save the document to somewhere when they click SAVE, rather than save it in a temp area under the temporary files area on the C: drive??
Is it possible to do with a Group Policy setting or any other way round not saving the doc in temp area and forcing the user to choose the location.
After moving an email to my 'saved stuff' folder within the Storage folder, I delete the original item within the Inbox. I find that the saved item has also vanished. This has happened over 6 times. I keep restoring the item by sending it to myself again from another source. I've been assuming that an item in the Inbox that is also in the Storage folder area would result in having two emails on my machine. Is this wrong? Is one a shortcut?
View 6 Replies View RelatedSo I booted into my other hard drives win 7 pro installation. Then I saved that system image onto my hard drive where the new windows 7 pro install is. After booting into the new windows install, then rebooting and going through the wizard and using the backed up image from the old windows 7 pro install it appears as if nothing is installed, no programs, drivers, themes, visuals etc. It's as if I didn't do anything at all.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI recently replaced my Hard drive. I had been backing up using Win 7 Back-up. After replacing my hard drive due to failure I have had issue restoring. I first tried to restore with the image after a while it gave me a failure error. So I the reinstalled windows with the original disks that I created when computer was purchased. I reinstalled most of my programs and was able to restore data with the backup. Most of my data was restored but I am missing some information. One is my contacts in Windows live mail. Where in the back up data might my contacts be and where they go. I am also sometimes having issues with windows recognizing the data on my usb hard drive. The backup data and windows backup image are there but when I run restore, advanced recovery methods, it does not find the data on the drive. It states that no back up data could be found The drive is showing.
