Dec 31, 2011I was trying to add an HP 1200SE printer manually by way of linksys printer server(no Win 7 updated drivers). After configuring it, it didn't work so I attempted to redo entries. I now get a message "port already exists" after I deleted the previous install. How do I delete the already in use port so I can start over? Windows 7 64 bit on just acquired Z570 Lenovo laptop.

Aug 15, 2012trying to manually add album data but wmp forces me to match every single track of every single album - when it already knows what the album is and the contents, as it shows the correct picture and album. This process should take me about 20 years. I assume this is because I am not letting wmp retrieve internet info as it wants because it's always wrong, (so MSN make it as difficult as possible to get info manually I guess)
and because it keeps making single track downloads into individual albums instead of a folder of mixed tracks which is WHAT I WANT. I don't wish to have my music arranged according to a programmer at microsoft... but this takeover by microsoft is getting more and more frustrating as they eliminate more and more customer choice from programs and dictate how it will all be set up and run from microsoft.
Is there anyway we can organise albums, tracks, files and folders the way we want to, instead of having microsoft shuffling them around and deleting databases, playlists and formats it doesn't agree with? Why can't I match the whole album when it appears in the search results? It's not rocket science

Aug 1, 2011I recently built a system based on a MSI Z68-GD80 mobo + i7-2600k. Comes with Virtue which is supposed to automatically switch from Intel gfx to discrete gfx card when a game is fired up has a white list of approved games and the ability to add your own game to the list.Although I am not a gamer, I tried adding the exe for Cinema 4D to the list, but it didn't activate the Virtu process when I opened C4D.So I was wondering - has any forum members successfully added any graphics apps to the Virtu list, or is it really only for 3D games and just gets triggered by DirectX etc.BTW I would like to use both on-die and discrete gfx because my Black Gold HDTV card works great with Intel gfx, but pixelates with the HD5770 card.

Nov 4, 2009I have Windows Live Mail which is working. I have my contacts in a folder in the next partition. I double click on the contact add to my contact list. I go to my contacts and see if they are there they are NOT there, it says "None of your contacts has an email defined" My contacts are under User My User Name Contacts so I'm not sure if this is even right.

For some reason my question was buried underground 'for a private answer' by the moderator and I haven't heard a word since - Can someone explain why the question was taken down and the question left unanswered by the moderator?Regarding Contacts Folder/Interface in WLM - how do i disable it. I don't want it, I don't want it creating files and folders I haven't asked for. I don't want it invading my privacy and I don't want it interferring and distributing my data across the internet AGAIN for reasons as explained above

Our club is growing and I am concerned about hitting the allowed limits, especially now that I am trying to transition from using an email client to using web-based Windows Live Mail.Before I commit to it, does anyone know the maximum allowed limits for emails in WLM?
1. How many contact addresses are allowed in a single email?
2. How many contacts can I email in a single day, or per hour?
3. If I send out 2 emails to the same 300 people, does that count as 300 or as 600?
4. Are there any other limits I should be aware of?
5. What happens if I go over the limit?
6. Can I be allowed a higher limit if I can demonstrate I am sending out legitimate emails to people who want these messages from me (i.e. that I am not a spammer)?
Lost Email Contacts After Live Essentials Update
Jun 21, 2012If I install the update, I lose my complete e-mail address/contact list. If I don't install the update I can't open my Live Mail at all. I miss Outlook Express SO much! I'm a senior and I don't need Live Essentials bells and whistles.

Feb 4, 2012So I have a 16 GB Cruzer USB and it's not connecting, recognizing, nothing. Usually, the usb stick lights up, but it's not even doing that. I remember a couple of years ago I had this problem, I looked up a solution and was able to open the usb up by going through... aghh this is what I can't remember.
It's manually opening up the usb by going through some 'coding'-ish steps.
The screen I used to type in the coding was black, with white text. I think I remember typing in dmnt.mgt (Not exactly it but kind of like that??) Either way.. how can I open up my usb?

In XP and using Opera browser, if I clicked on an web page's email link, my email client (Sylpheed) would open with the address inserted. With Win 7 and the email defaults set, it won't. Instead, it always returns an "Internal communication error" page (example link: Contact Us | PCWorld). Below are screenshots of my Win 7 email defaults and Opera preferences setting. One thing I'm not sure about, if it's at all relevant, is where Opera is picking up the default application from. In XP, it picked up Opera email as the default. The Other Application file location shown is exactly the same in both, except for the drive letter.

Feb 27, 2012On the backup and restore management screen, it says �backup cancelled�. I had setup on a regular weekly schedule. Go to manage backups, I see backups through out 2011. The last one 12/2011. The last backup field says �Never��yet backups exist. Short of it, I cannot find the reason backups would not run. Windows has an extremely poor ability to view just what is going on with backups. Assuming it might be a space issue. I deleted all but a few of the last backups in manage backups, and reset the schedule so backups would run overnight. This morning, same results, backup cancelled. So�I clicked on �Backup now��and it runs to completion successfully. The last back field was updated with today�s date/time.
