Where Is The Contacts Stored In Windows 7 On Outlook 1010
May 20, 2012
I have a user that I added their .pst file from their XP machine(C:Documents and Settings{user}Local SettingsApplication DataMicrosoftOutlook) to their C:Users{User Name}DocumentsOutlook Files inside their clean installation of Windows 7 Pro x64 . Opened up Outlook 2010 and their contacts were empty. I would like to know where their contacts are stored .
Windows cannot load the locally stored profile. Possible causes of this error include insufficient security rights or a corrupt local profile. If this problem persists, contact your network administrator.
I have upgraded to Win. 7 on a new computer. I removed my old C drive from my dead computer and installed it in the new one. How can I retreive Outlook 2000 contacts from the old drive either as an export file or print the contacts?
Trying to recover Outlook contacts and calendar from a HDD that cannot boot.herefore the .pst file cannot be exported. Is there a way to get the .pst and .ost files without actually running the Outlook program?
It's probably my fault since most things are. Yesterday I had trouble sending email. I looked in the add-ins and saw the COM addin for Microsoft Hotmail connector. Well, I couldn't find where to delete it and so I went to c:\Progra~2\common~1\system\msmapi\msncon32.dll and deleted that. I did a bad thing, didn't I? This morning my Personal Folder in Outlook Contacts, is gone.
How can I get it back?
I did a system restore but the Personal Folder in Contacts Outlook 2007 is not there. The add-in is.
In Outlook I know how to archive folders and set how often these should be backed up. This backup can then be backed up so in the event of me losing data any saved emails etc. can be recovered. The problem I am having is archiving and then backing up my contacts in Outlook. I know how to create a single backup of my contacts in Outlook, but I cant get the contacts folder to archive on a schedule. This means that every time I add a new contact I need to create a complete new backup of my contacts which is not very practical. how to get my contacts folder in Outlook to archive on a schedule.
a serious disruption caused me to have to reinstall windows 7 again, but the old windows 7 copy(windows.old) was saved. however, the outlook 2007 contacts and e-mails were never saved, so now, how can i retrieve the e-mails and contacts?
I've read the other threads regarding my problem, but still can't figure out what to do. I backed up my files before installing Windows 7, and have an "Outlook Express" folder. However, I can't figure out how to import the contacts I had saved in my address book in Outlook. The Outlook files are in .dbx format, so I am unable to open them.
Does anyone know how I can even access the files so I can see my contacts and copy them down? Importing them would be ideal, but I'll take whatever I can get.
I am using Windows 7 and Outlook 2010 and would like to transfer my Outlook calendar and contacts to another PC using the same versions of Windows and Outlook.
With XP and Office 2003, it was easy to export (and then mport) the calendar and contact files. How do I do this trasnfer with Windows 7/Outlook 2010?
I have just decided to clean up my contacts in this NEW OUTLOOK, what a load of POO.Why is windows trying to hold on to everything, on the old contacts it was easy, on this you have to go round the block to find that the contacts are still there. When MS has a winning formula is it really necessary to have to stand on your head and whistle up your pants leg to move to the next phase
I have an Epson Stylus CX6600 attached to an XP Desktop. My new Windows 7 laptop can see it as a shared printer on the network. But when I try to add it as a printer, it says it can not locate the .inf file to install it. I connected the printer directly to a USB port on the laptop and it installed immediately and printed fine. Now it shows up as the default printer on the laptop. I reconnected the printer back up to the desktop machine, tried to print with the laptop and it just puts the print job in a queue. I again tried to add the printer as a network printer and it again says it needs the .inf file. The laptop does see the printer on the network. What do I do to make this work?
i have two hard drives on my computer both with windows 7 professional installed, now my main hard has gone on the blink and wont load up unless in safe mode, due to this i just hit f12 and swapped drive but i can not remember my password to log on and i am the only user with admin rights on the second hard drive, in saying this i can log on as a normal user, also i can log in my first drive as a admin user and search the second hard drive.my question is can i access a file to change my password as the admin user or make the user i can log on with into an administrator.
I have a compac (HP) laptop (CQ61-41us notebook), running WIN7 home premium, 64 bit. Aside from the normal file backup via the western digital software, I have several windows 7 generated iso images of my laptop stored on my external WD drive. Using windows repair disk, my computer does not recognize the external drive to access the disk images. It just asks to insert the last disk into optical drive. My images are on a folder on my external drive. There is no option to navigate to it! This is the first time I've needed to restore an image, and I can't access them! This should be an easy operation that could be started in a few minutes. I have been screwing around with this for more than 24 hours!
Having successfully moved my address book (.WAB format) to w7 and converted it to .CSV format I can get as far as "Select the Contacts folder that you want to import to" as in the website [URL] but when I click "next" the box is blank where a Contacts folder should be. In outlook 2003 I have some contacts which I added manually to address book so there should be an address book of some sort.
I have over 13 years of Outlook Express folders and addresses that I desperately need to convert to Outlook 2007. I should have imported them into Outlook before I made the "Easy File Transfer" to the new Win 7 machine, but didn't know I needed to do that. Several years ago I had imported the files into Outlook, although that data did transfer it is now way out-of-date and full of duplicates. The up-to-date data is still in my old machine and also in an external hard drive backup. I have isolated the Outlook Express personal folders into .dbx format and the addresses into .wab format. Is there a way this can be reformatted into Outlook? Or is there some other way? I would probably also need to delete what is already in Outlook first, or I would have many more duplicates.
whatever i try to do on my outlook that has to do with .PST file management results in a crash where outlook quitsif i go to control panel > mail settings > data files 2 of the files that are in use (& work) do not show up, one of them the default mail delivery .PST. in these two, trying to access the advanced properties gives an error:The operation failed. An object could not be found.now - general googling tells me that recreating the profile could perhaps fix this - but i would love to avoid that as there's no manageable UI to set up the email accounts and there's many in use.event log on trying to open a pre-existing .PST that's not in the current profile:
Upgraded my PC to a windows 7 64bit professional. However, I'm unable to read a xml file generated by accounting software (ACCPAC) stored in my windows NT 2003 server.Error message: [Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Data source name not found and no default driver specified
As far as I know System Restore Points are stored in a system folder "SystemRestoreVolume"Ok, but on which partition is this folder? Is it ALWAYS on the same partition as the saved/monitored partition?I have a Win7 system partition C: and a (big) data partition D:Can I tell Win7 somehow to store the SystemRestoreInformation from partition C: into the SystemRestoreVolume on partition D:?
I want to know if there is a foolproof way to know where the source file is located. It looks like the "Library" part of Explorer, (where it seems like files are duplicates of those in MyDocuments) are just virtual addresses, and I would need to delete files in MyDocuments to actually have them not show up there. Is this true? Is there a way to have Explorer NOT use the Library option? It's nothing but confusing for me, since everything I need to reference is on one drive.
I copied my music to MyMusic folder (all in mp3 format), and then loaded iTunes 10.4.1.10, and now find that every single song is duplicated in iTunes Library -- maybe because of the reference files in Explorer's "Library," or because I also found them all in an iTunes directory under /Users? I want to get rid of the duplicates, but am wary of what files to delete at this point. I have over 2000 songs, so doing one delete at a time using iTunes software is out of the question. I figure maybe I can uninstall iTunes, delete all but one directory of music and then reload iTunes and have a clean iTunes library to sync to my new iPod. Does this sound reasonable?
I am using Windows 7 and Windows Live Mail for my emails. Whenever I run the deep clean option of my Advaced System Care program, it erases my contact list and I have to go back and re-enter the contacts. I would like to copy the file of Contacts elsewhere first so I would be able to copy it back after doing the Deep Care, but cannot find where it is stored. Kinda like the old .wab file I used to have.
I'm watching a video on my computer that I opened up in Firefox earlier, that's not available online anymore. I guess its 'buffered' in my system. I assume this means its stored in my cache. How do I access this?
Before installing Windows 7 I exported the macro's I use in Excel (Office 2007) and made a copy of the Personal.xlsb file. In Vista, the Personal.xlsb is stored at C:Usersuser nameAppDataLocalMicrosoftExcelXLSTART. I have imported the macros into visual basic but I can only save them into that particular workbook and when I reopen Excel, the macros are not avaliable.
